  1. Unless we get another delay, they should actually start shipping in September. They didn't specify early/mid/late, or a date, so it's probably the 30th. At that point things should get interesting with the information we get.
  2. @MAXsenna It's pretty typical for event setups to not be optimal for usage. They have other important considerations, like being able to pack things small for travel & being able to build things up and tear them down quickly. Pointing it out can be helpful to noobs who have no idea, but discussing mounting solutions would detract from actually discussing the product itself. And of course, briefly using it using an event is not at all a proper review, which takes days at the very least.
  3. The performance fix for Ryzen is getting backported to the older patch of Windows 11, so you can get it without losing WMR support: https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-confirms-branch-prediction-optimizations-are-now-available-for-windows-11-23h2-boosting-gaming-performance

  4. That seems unlikely, since they had to reduce the 4080 price to $999 for it to sell. Why would they make the same mistake with the 5080? The leaked specs suggest that the production costs for the 5080 will not be higher, so a price increase is not needed. And I don't see how they again give poor price/performance increases like with the 40-series. I think that you are reasoning yourself into the card with the highest depreciation after release of the next gen.
  5. @lolpatrol How does the Monstertech mount hold up with the weight & forces?
  6. @Rammstein The main issue is not contamination, but a design defect, coupled with them pushing the silicon too hard.
  7. The 4090 is around 30% faster, but obviously, the price difference is more than that. I would personally not get a 4090 right now, unless money is truly no issue, since the depreciation is going to hit you hard early next year when the 5090 comes out.
  8. I'm not complaining, but just discussing the statements they make about their products, which seem a bit peculiar at times. But perhaps you suffer from some choice-supportive bias, after ordering from them?
  9. 'A variety' is very vague, though. Since they don't even make more than one base, it must even include future Moza products or competitor products to deserve the plural.
  10. They state: "Perfect for flat surfaces, it pairs seamlessly with suction cups to provide a firm and secure grip on desktops." And the beautiful picture: The plate doesn't necessarily seems to be intended for the FFB base. They show it off with a throttle.
  11. It might be for use with a rig. Their marketing is really weird though, as they advertise it primarily for use with suction cups. But aren't the suction cups the worst part of various Winwing products?
  12. New table clamp announced specifically for the FFB base: It might work for a side mount: They also have some weird adapter plate that I don't understand the use of: https://mozaracing.com/product/flight-base-mount-adapter
  13. The best case scenario is that the release drags out so long that they can put 3 GB chips on the 5070, so it will get 18 GB. But I doubt it.
  14. All of those should work well with DCS at 1440p, from what people have said on this forum. The 4070 Super will have the advantage of it being more common, so it being easier to find guides to tune it. The AMD cards might give you better FPS per dollar/euro/etc, although that depends on your local pricing.
  15. Solidigm is a subsidiary/brand from SK Hynix. So it's a top tier memory manufacturer putting their top tier controller in a NVMe. That's why it's so good. And cases are in no small part personal taste. If you get a nice one, you can keep it a long time. I have very good experiences with Fractal and the Torrent is one of the best for airflow, so if you like the looks, size, etc, it's a very good choice. Not the best price/performance, but life is not just about that.
  16. Yes, they do. If you haven't, I suggest reading the Rhino manual. It's really very good and tells you a lot about how it and the software works, even if you don't have one yourself.
  17. Having fixed Virpil grips would be great. That's a major downside if it was to remain an issue. Anyway, I still expect that it'll be a rough ride for the early buyers, but let's hope that the software is at least stable, so you can successfully fly missions with it. If the effects are merely not up to par with the Rhino at first, that is much less of an issue than if the stick starts doing weird things.
  18. @rapid The software desperately needs the ability to have per-plane settings. Although I guess you can make it work with the importable settings, by saving multiple profiles and loading the right one manually. And it's not all that helpful that he compares it to the Brunner. We desperately need a Rhino comparison. But it's a waiting game now. In September, we should see a flood of reviews and info.
  19. I suspect that the biggest difference in the military version is that the rockets will have more accurate specifications. The exact performance of the rockets is big secret, since you want the opponent to accidentally get too close to escape your rocket, or fire from too far away, since they are afraid, rather than know exactly how far away they should stay. Modern rockets is almost certainly the biggest upgrade that the old planes got.
  20. FFB is a particularly big improvement for helicopters and non-fly by wire planes like warbirds or the F4E. So I would suggest going for that. What you can do, is to build a FFBeast yourself. Then almost all of the spending is online or can be done locally, so you avoid most of those huge import fees. So instead of getting a very overpriced product due to excessive taxes, you can get something much nicer that is not much more expensive that what we would pay. So value for money is going to be much better. But it will require a decent amount of work on your part, like finding a machine shop to make the housing & finding a cheap hoverboard/scooter and salvaging the motors from it. So you have to enjoy taking it on as a project and you need some technical skills. The Rhino is also an option, but you will have to import the motors, which are probably going to be taxed a lot.
  21. @oCMANo The eye tracking in current headsets is not of the quality that it can actually track that accurately. Nor can it necessarily adapt quickly enough when you move your eyes. So this is unlikely to be a good idea for everyone, although we all differ, so it can work for some people.
  22. Sorry to bother you again, but do those 'other grips' include the left-handed version of the Alpha? On the IL-2 forum we have a guy who would like a left-handed grip, but he also has some (other) complicated demands about the grip.
  23. Looks like a useful change
  24. Any more detail than 'new version'?
  25. I think that people who get a 14900 do stress their system. Worst off are those with little tech knowledge who get a prebuilt and who might not even know about this, as they don't follow the tech news.
