  1. If you do Show All it's any bios after 2503 but if your update might as well do the latest 2701.
  2. Hadn't got as far as Bios updates but just noticed that Well I was wrong as well, never checked Bios updates for the board and as kksnowbear pointed out there's a bios update for it to support 128GB. There new QVL list as well has loads of 64GB options right up to 3733MHz so the 2400MHz is kinda redundant as well.
  3. Trying to find the page I was looking at on the Asus Site, might be an older revision of the board.
  4. QVL lists aren't the gospel anyway, it just means that it's memory they have tested, my Corsair isn't on my list but works fine. It's impossible for them to test every memory there is on the market so they go with selections. If you go on to the G.Skill website and use their Ram Configurator it lists loads of compatible modules that are 3200MHz and above. https://www.gskill.com/configurator?page=1&cls=1529635169&manufacturer=1524725352&chipset=1524723693&model=1532077071&adSearch2=Capacity§64GB (16GBx4),Tested_Speed§3200 MT/s, Go on the Asus site and download the latest Memory QVL list, it's got loads of 64GB G.Skill modules listed right up to the maximum speed the board supports. https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-maximus/rog-maximus-x-formula-model/helpdesk_qvl/ The memory you have selected might only be 2400MHz but as it's standard 1.20v it can be overclocked to regain some of that lost performance, not that there is a massive difference between 3200MHz and 2400Mhz anyway, well not in the real world. This is a real world testing with some of the components you have in yours, if you look there is a big difference in FPS if you run 1920x1080 or lower, 2550x1440 and above is almost the same. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-ram-speed,5951-5.html
  5. Still works as Ai, least for me it does. When I've loaded an aircraft they show up on the map and you can external view them with F2 so they are up and working.
  6. It is possible but not advisable, could result in crashing and BSD. Normally if you mix and match Ram your best to leave the Bios set to auto and it will generally set the timings to the slower of the two so you would lose some performance. Apart from timings it really needs to be the same speed as well so your new 3600MHz will be running at 3200MHz, so again loss of performance and possible issues with crashing. They also need to be running the same voltage as that can differ slightly. It's like buying a Porsche and sticking a Mini engine in it. Of course another big factor is your motherboard and how intelligent it is. Personally it's not something I would ever do as there are too many varibles and I would never advise anyone I deal with to mix and match, I wouldn't build a system for them with mixed memory or repair one using mixed memory lol For what Ram costs these days I would replace the whole lot and try and sell the old stuff or keep it as a spare backup which is what I normally do. I always replace my Ram in pairs or quads at the same time, even buying the same brand and model can have issues as they fine tune stuff so have different revisions. My Corsair memory when I upgraded was only 12 months apart but it had two revisons by then and quite a few changes so rather than chance it just got all new but that's personal choice.
  7. If the game and a website that is not part of the game is failing I would start by looking at your AV, especially if the website was loaded from within DCS itself. Very occasionally my AV blocks access to the internet with DCS, not often but has happen so maybe check firewall logs or history to see if their website is on it. As for the error code I would double check that nothing has been flagged up as malcious and quarantined, only takes one file. Technically as you have verified the files through Steam it would add any missing files back, but then the AV would just remove them again before you had chance to log into anything. Never know might find the problem in there, if not I'm sure someone will be along with a different solution.
  8. Probably already been discussed but haven't got time to trawl through the posts. I've seen loads of posts recently about authorisation failures and a message saying you had 2d 23h 59m left before the offending item/s are disabled. Yesterday after an ED patch several files flagged up as malcious and Malwarebytes wanted to quarantine them, I chose not to do that as I have several other measures in place so continued as normal. For me everything worked fine, then due to being curious I started digging a bit with the files in question which were as follows. Mods\Aircraft\SU-33\Bin\SU33CWS.DLL Mods\Aircraft\SU-33\Bin\SU33.DLL Mods\Aircraft\SU-27\Bin\SU27CWS.DLL Mods\Aircraft\SU-27\Bin\SU27.DLL Now these files were just for me, other people get different things but the point is I decided as a test a theory and manually remove them just to see what effects they were having on the game. After I removed those 4 files and restarted DCS I was expecting it to either start and not cause a problem unless I selected that aircraft, or anything that used it or for it to tell me there was missing files. What I got instead was a blue box that said I was not authorised to use the SU-27 and the SU-33 and I had 2d 23h 59m left until they were disabled. Basically I'm saying if you have this issue, despite ED saying they fixed it in the patch just check to see if anything has been quarantined or blocked, as soon as I put those files back everything worked as normal and the blue box was gone.

  9. Just tried the hot fix that 'cdpkobra' posted for the VSN aircraft and for me I am getting the same results as using the F-15C workaround, none functioning landing gear, no flaps and 50% of the time no trigger but weapons launching does work for missiles. I have managed to get the Hawker Hunters working through as previous to the fix they weren't flyable, but now both the MK6 or TMK68 worked at all so at least now they are showing up and can be flown, just with the problems I described.
  10. Just a heads up, just tried the hot fix that 'cdpkobra' posted but for me I have none functioning landing gear, no flaps and no trigger but weapons launching does work for missiles in the Hawker Hunters. I will say though that previous to the hot fix neither the MK6 or TMK68 worked at all so at least now they are showing up and can be flown.
  11. Since the patch my F-22 doesn't work at all, not even on the map, although mine is the one by Grinnelli Designs from your site and not the VSN one.
  12. Since the FC 2024 update FC3 is redundant and no longer exists. Each FC aircraft now has it's own folder with the aircraft as the folder name, the original FC3 aircraft are just aircraft name such as F-15C but the three new FC 2024 have FC on the end of the file name to denote they are FC 2024, for example F-5E_FC.
  13. I've just tried it and doesn't work, as for the FC3 stuff the folder in the main directory no longer exists as they are all individual aircraft now with FC on the end of the FC 2024 ones.
  14. Slightly off topic for DCS but a short video, just over 4 minutes of a incident that took place in the UK in 1968 with a Hawker Hunter. Just thought it might be of interest.
  15. As a temp fix to the problem this patch has been created, well at least for VSN aircarft. This is the link to the actual file, you can click on Hunter from VSN to view the full post and download from there also. https://forum.dcs.world/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=396807&key=691658de4ad23258e6a8e8fedaa55255
  16. You can only select the J-11 in Mission Editor/Creators from the drop down list of aircraft, as already stated it doesn't have it's own module. It's based off the SU-27 but you will find it under China as it's there aircraft.
  17. The F/A-18C is nice to fly but being full fidelity you need to put in some effort to learn the buttons and switches and how to use the systems, I think the manual is about 768 pages but don't need all that. I generally do fast starts which takes a few minutes after you get used to the sequence. It all depends what controller you got and how good you are with it, the Huey is one of the harder ones to fly when it comes to landings and takes a bit of getting used to. My suggestion would be to download the UH-60L Blackhawk mod and start with that, it's easy to fly and hover and easy to land. One of the issues with the Huey is crashing on landings because of VRS (Vortex Ring State) after coming into a hover and descending too fast, you end up dropping out the sky as you lose all lift, probably explain that better but been up 20 hours People will argue that you need pedals, I no longer have mine and didn't fancy yet another computer box taking up room with a new set of pedals. I've got a Thrustmaster T.16000M HOTAS and use the paddles on the throttle for rudder, get used to it in about an hour but I can control the helicopers and aircraft exactly like I could with my pedals after fine tuning my curve on the axis. It is harder using a twist grip joystick but is flyable, just requires more effort as your twisting to give rudder control while trying to use it as pitch and roll control at the same time, the biggest issue is after a while it can lead to painful wrist and stiffness as it's under constant stress. This is the link to the UH-60L Blackhawk, just make sure if you download you click on 'uh-60l 1.4.zip' and not the source code as it won't work. https://github.com/Kinkkujuustovoileipa/uh-60l/releases
  18. I started off with the original A-10C when it first came out years ago, then more recently when I got the original Flaming Cliffs 3 I started using the A-10A every now and then but I upgraded to the A-10C II a few months back. They are all pretty similar to fly, sometimes I like slower stuff like the OV-10 Bronco but then today I was in the F/A-18C and Huey. If you look in your install directory for DCS and go to 'DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\A-10A\Doc' there's a pretty useful 104 page manual in there to flick through. When is comes to selecting missions though you might find these useful, I downloaded them from the ED User Files section. This is the original post, Goldwolf has done reference files for all the aircraft to use as Kneeboards. They have included an excellent full reference guide as well which is full of information about different aircraft and vehicles, well worth downloading. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3318384/
  19. Never read the first part, thought it was something I was on earlier
  20. Prettry happy with my setup, spent the last 38 years working in specialist security, lot of my qualifications are cyber security so probably a bit over cautious as some of my friends seem to think
  21. I run the Steam version so don't have to worry about updates, saying that though ED have released a hotfix patch tonight, Steam has just installed it.
  22. Most errors look the same are what I get but there is a 'NvAPI_Initialize Error' in yours which is Nvidia, might help to repair/reinstall or update your graphics drivers. I noticed the only dcs.exe reference you got in that log is for the normal version, not bin-mt so try launching MT first.
  23. It's best to use something like Notepad ++ for this but you can just bypass the new launcher all together until it's sorted, you can disable it from within the launcher but need it to work first. You need to edit the Options.lua file, make a copy first. First go to 'your username\Saved Games\DCS\Config\' and find options.lua Next find the line ["launcher"] = true and change it to ["launcher"] = false (for me in Notepad ++ it's on line 137 but can search it anyway) Next save the file and launch DCS as normal and it will take you to the original login screen
  24. Says down the bottom of your log: STATUS: Can't run C:\Games\DCS.openbeta\bin-mt/DCS.exe: (2) The system cannot find the file specified. so looks like dcs.exe is missing from the bin-mt folder. It's either been quarantined as already suggested or somehow moved or deleted. Do as advised and run a repair and should add it back. I use Malwarebytes and it's not quarantined any of my DCS files and I'm really strict on my scans, I use multiple systems to scan so not just that. Also if you got really important stuff it's always a good idea to buy an external drive and keep a backup and/or clone of the drive.
  25. Yeah saw that earlier and downloaded it, not had chance to sort it yet so maybe tomorrow.
