  1. My sympathies to all Jim's friends and family.
  2. Excellent idea Ells! I am really, really impressed with your innovative bit of fundraising for the Trust, well done mate. Donation made to The Jon Egging Trust Confirmation number: 2CD53522759997205
  3. Check the oil pressure gauge as you run it up. If the oil is too cold it will also be too thick, and the pressure will be huge. If you're flying in cold weather you can use the oil dilution switch to mix some petrol in with the oil and make it thinner, or you can just have a nice relaxed ten minutes of waiting while your engine warms up properly.
  4. Just adding my two pennies worth - I find the P-51 is noticeably worse for framerate than the Black Shark in DCS World.
  5. I keep seeing this, and fair enough I'm sure it works, but is it something that real pilots would ever have done?
  6. Very nice as usual Heater, thank you for sharing!
  7. Looks fantastic as always Heater!
  8. I can't find a GUI or Mission Editor manual for DCS:World. Is there one yet?
  9. I would think it's unburnt fuel igniting as it exits the exhausts, not smoke.
  10. You are a lucky man! ;)
  11. It sounds like you have random failures enabled.
  12. Mixture too rich?
  13. It needs to be switched to fixed mode, not necessarily switched off.
  14. I reinstalled it and let it install the packages and it ran fine, so all is well. Thanks everyone.
  15. As the title says, I installed DCS World on my E: drive (which is also where BS2 and A-10C live quite happily), but DCS World can't see that I already have the dlls it needs installed. It looks like it's not actually looking in the Windows directory on my c: drive. Just thought I'd mention it in case it's a problem with the installer.
  16. That's the safest way to do it, just in case of engine failure or something.
  17. May well do, thanks!
  18. Looks like an excellent idea, I hope it's a great success! If I could see a way of being available for the four hours I'd jump into one of those slots straight away!
  19. The music goes well, nice one!
  20. It's all part of trying to put past differences behind us and improve relations with our Russian friends. The BBC are coming too ;)
  21. I'm flying in BS2 as a British pilot. After a campaign mission the other night I was awarded the Military Medal, which was nice. Unfortunately this award was discontinued in 1993, so I should really have been given a Military Cross. As the title says, it's minor, but just in case...
  22. As a fellow victor in this hell we call Barmy'sh, accepted! ;)
  23. Excuse the thread resurrection, but I've just succeeded on this mission after ages of going back and forth and repeated failures! My winning tactic was to treat it like a recon mission, rather than a one-shark army fighting it's way through the valley. From the FARP I headed to just North of central Bay'b, then dashed South across the valley as quick and low as I could to hide in the hills on the Southern side. I took a couple of laser warnings on the way across, but nobody managed to get a shot off. Once safely across the valley I flew East above the hills but close to the ground to stay out of sight of everything in the valley. I came up to the recon target from the South, took two or three Iglas on the nose but kept on trucking, detected all the targets, blew them up, then retraced my path and headed for home. Unfortunately my wingnut died early on - he's not really suited to sneaking about!
  24. Nice resource, thank you for taking the time over it.
  25. I'm loving the upgrade, great job ED!
