ShopBLT - More TM Warthogs on the way!
Yskonyn replied to JG27_Arklight's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Wow, you have quite the setup! I don't know if I would even have pre-ordered the Hog if I already had a CH setup. Which makes me wonder; what are your reasons to order it? Pure coolness of the stick, special project you're planning or does the CH show signs of wearing out? Not that it's any of my business of course, but I am just curious. ;) -
In that the stick itself hardly moves, but senses the force you put against it while pushing or pulling. It translates that force into movement input. :joystick: :)
-
The Hog will be slightly more expensive. I think you have given all the answers yourself already. It's a choice only you can make. Maybe it's best to wait for reviews about the Warthog first, before making your choice.

Offical Thrustmaster Warthog Release

@Succellus: Alright. Although I don't know what to make of your 'I couldn't care less about other people's opinion' remark. :) I just go ahead and classify it as humor, I guess. :D @Mower: And my point is that people want to make your point all the more clear in every thread about a TM product on every forum. It's tiresome really. Content people are very much less vocal than annoyed people, that's why the net is so full of garbage and hostility. Fact is, though, that the Warthog hasn't been released yet and so it has to remain seen wether it's a piece of crap or a nice piece of hardware. There's no use for people to continuously try to dampen the joy of the people honestly anticipating the stick. Secondly, if I had to put every stick I still own in my sig then it would take up a whole page. Surely you're attached to your FUBARed piece of junk, no? What use is there to share it with others otherwise? Nonetheless, happy landings. :joystick: -

^ Yet you still proudly show that FUBARed piece of junk in your sig... I am sorry, but I am tired of all the bitching about a product which nobody has had in their hand yet. Just wait and see. Then comment. -

Argh.. you just made me google that term... and I had to accept there is a term I had never heard of. :megalol: Here's the other: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ID-Ten-T_Error ^ That's some awkward logic, Suc. If the product turns out to have serious flaws you probably won't buy it at all anymore. -

Your point being...? That statement is true for every new consumer product. I might be misunderstanding you, but with that attitude I'd say you shouldn't go out on the street anymore. What if you cross the street and you just so happen to cross the street while one of those Toyota's with its stuck gas pedal happens to be right there as well and collision avoidance is no option any more? :joystick: That could get very ugly as well, but do you remain off the street because it 'might' happen? No I didn't think so. :D -

Well the worst thing we could end up with is having to wait for Bodnar to make some new mods available, right? :pilotfly: -

It craps me out when they do that. Here, by law, you're entitled to get your money back, however many shops do the same thing you described; giving you vouchers instead of money. It's a big, big hassle (discussion up to court threats) to get your money back and so most people just accept the vouchers. -

Be aware guys, Feuerfalke makes a good point here. Don't get too obsessed about getting the best price. Expecially on the internet, with these prices/products, there are a lot of scams and considering the investment you owe it to yourself to make an informed purchase. I would only buy from a store I am comfortable with and I know they're legit. I rather pay a few 10s of euro's more for that. There are countless of stories out there from people who got scammed cause they wanted a cheap price. -

Ouch. But at least my point is proven... I'd rather keep my John and just wait a few weeks before plugging in my new stick (pun intended :P)! -

Mine is ordered! Yay for me! I can't unpack it once it arrives until the 2nd of december though... that's my birthday; Order from the 'missus'. I think I have to place the box on the attic until that time so I wont be seeing it constantly... ;) -

My wife? No not at all! But me being a commercial airline pilot she does understand why I like the virtual sims. ;) Yesterday I brought up the discussion and she asked me wether I had already pre-odered it? Just like that, no further discussion.... females... amazingly confusing sometimes. :) Anyway, that's the Warthog sorted for me I think! yay! -
TrackIR on Windows 7 64-bit?
Yskonyn replied to ESzczesniak's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
BUT The 64-bit version of A-10 does not yet communicate with the software of TrackIR. So in effect your TIR won't work yet with the 64-bit version of A-10. Only the 32-bit version. NaturalPoint is working on a 64-bit version of their software so this will be fixed in the future. -

Thanks for the link! Didn't know that! :) Now I only have to pursuade the wife so I can go do clicky.... Funny, DarkEagle, you're upgrading your X52 as well, just like my intentions are. :) In the end I never really got accustomed to the light feel in the stick of the X52, how about you? It never flew like it was second nature. -

If only they got they website up and running again... "Check back in a few hours" has been days already... :music_whistling: -
Thanks for the quick reply, Nate. The 64-bit TIR software is just a 'nice to have' then, to complete the package and start using the 64-bit A-10 client. But by no means needed, I understand? What would be the benefit for a 64-bit client then anyway? Is it just to make the sim future proof?
-
:smartass: Just a general question. Can we have similar signature bars for A-10C like we got for the Shark (see my sig), please? If they are already available, please forgive my ignorance, but I haven't found them yet. :pilotfly:
-
Does the 32-bit client of A-10 has the same performance of the 64-bit client on a given system with a 64-bit OS?
-
I still have to pursuade the wife... my birthday is in december, but I really... really want to have it upon release, cause I am afraid interest is so high it will be put on backorder for a few months after the initial release cause the factory cant keep up... What do you guys think? Will the set be continuously available?
-
First I thought the obvious; you forgot to remove external power. But it turns out it doesn't matter. :) I never noticed it before though.

Minimum required equipment for enjoyable experience?
Yskonyn replied to Mote's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Well it all depends on your cashflow... and admittedly.. on the wifey. :pilotfly: :music_whistling:
