  1. While your open love statement is touching, could you use a PM next time? If everyone would make a thread to thank someone it would litter the board beyond what's good for anyone's heartrate.
  2. I'd go for the Harrier on nr 1. We already have a great helo module so vertical takeoff characteristics are possible I'd say and the aircraft is a technical marvel and would be *very* cool to operate in a full detail sim. Then the Hornet because I loved my time with Jane's sim! Then the F-16 to get all the Falcon doodz in here so we have a nice big family of simmers duking it out with eachother with the different modules. :P
  3. That's too little too late I am afraid. :P
  4. I thought the DVD did come with a TIR 4 discount as well. Do a forum search and it'll probably show up somewhere. ;) I am running my TIR 4 with the TrackClip Pro on my 22" monitor and -as said by others- am loving it. I think it would be wise to go for the bundle, because while the standard hat clip works ok, you will certainly experience even better and more accurate control with the trackclip pro.
  5. Well everything fits better in meters, my friend. ;)
  6. I tend to be in the same boat. Where I could spend hours playing just about any type of game when I was in high, now I can only still the hunger with sims so it seems. They just give you the biggest reward IMHO. (I am a pilot myself as well. Maybe its related. ;) )
  7. So you give us "Bitchin' Olga" instead? Tss, hardly a decent tradeoff, besides its hard enough already to fend off the bitchin' wife; the last thing we need is the heli bitching against us as well. ;) Nah.. I'd really go and have a talk with your ED friends if I were you and make the 'maintenance guy being a woman who can be called to wash windows with boobs' a priority issue! :joystick: :megalol: Oh and while you're at it, make her callsign 'Stickshaker' ! ;) Talking about 'most wanted addon'...
  8. Watch your mouth (or rather your fingers), boy! You're on sacred virtual aviation ground and we do not tolerate swearing!
  9. If you want that you should go to the nearest airport and rent the cheapest, crappiets, oldest, bare-boned aircraft you can find and take that for a spin. ;)
  10. That's one of the funniest screenies I've seen lately! :D Rep inbound!
  11. I experience different behaviour of the helo off tarmac as well. Like said before, even with gentle landings, the heli seems to hop up in the air and upon landing the hopping gets worse sometimes resulting in tipping over. It does appear the logic for landing on tarmac is different than landing on grass?
  12. I want the maintenance guy to be a woman and she has to be modelled in game in such detail so I can call her via the comms menu and make her wash the windows with her boobs.
  13. I have a G15. It's dutch.... err there are no dutch keyboards are there? :P :D Then I suppose its US. Anyway the point here is that it's not a problem here. Yeah that was it.
  14. Like Lav said, I don't think we're in the position to make demands. ;) The mods are here to enforce forum rules. Let them handle it. Mods will move a misplaced thread, as has been done a lot lately. But while you're at it you might suggest in a polite manner to next time post in the correct forum to the poster who misplaced his/her thread. Nothing wrong in some guidance, lest it remains civil and polite.
  15. oUCH. The hostility. :S Seeing as it has not arrived here in Holland yet either, I'd just hold your breath for a little while more and see what shows up in stores over in Canada.
  16. :D:D
  17. ;) If you get an envelope with money for your birthday from a friend are you one of those people who first buys something for it and only then says thanks to that friend? ;) Just joking, welcome to the club and have fun with BS!
  18. The question about what you *need* is rather personal I think, but; Top hardware I'd recommend; 1) a decent HOTAS 2) Track IR A multimonitor setup I can do without. Besides I hate it when my desk gets cluttered. ;)
  19. OK, I can see why you want to have full control, but how do you manage to keep the heli in a manual steady hover when, for example, you're turning your view away to look at the ABRIS or operate the Shkval from the TV screen? You got a pretty steady hand if you can keep the heli in its hover spot while scanning for targets. I find it hard most of the time to scan with the TV let alone control the heli at the same time. That's when I definately use auto-hover. Besides if you're afraid you'll get under fire and might have to do violent evasive maneuvers you're clearly not in the right spot to be hovering anyway! ;) :P Indeed 'violently off-topic', but I couldn't resist this one. I refrain from more off topic input.
  20. Welcome back! I hope you will find that you've spent your money well once your rig arrives! May there be countless hours of pure combatsim joy ahead. :) What's the specification of the new computer and which peripherals did you buy?
  21. When I saw the title of this thread a few days ago I thought it was some kind of funny joke-type-of-story, but now that this thread has become several pages long I couldn't resist my curiosity. :) My smile slowly changed to unbelief... What the... inflatable military hardware?! :D So seriously, grown up men and women are shooting rockets at inflatable dummies? I guess people do keep the same habits throughout their lives. Where you would use a pea-shooter at a balloon when you were little, this apparently evolves into rockets at an inflatable tank when you're grown up!
  22. Yeah you have a good point about getting behind in the tutorial and the rather thin info you get. I agree its hard to follow the first few times. The way I went at it was watching the producer's notes, scribbling some sort of checklist on paper, watch the tutorials, then play them. I can understand that might not be what less 'hardcore simmers' (for the lack of a better term without trying to put people in 'boxes') want to have to do before being able to take the aircraft for a spin.
  23. Yeah I overlooked it at first as well, but in the drop-down box at the top of the controls options page, where you can select which type of controls you want to display in the table, you do have an Axis section, but its at the top of the list and highlighted in a different color. If you click on that it will show the axis assignments instead of the buttons. You'll find what you need there. ;)
  24. Thanks, Sharkster.
  25. I am a real dumbass. . . Why would there else be a Shkval scan rate knob. Sry I should have thought a bit more before I spewed BS (to stay on topic ;) )
