I haven't upgraded my computer in a loooong time. What kind of performance boost will I be looking at, say, going from the following system: AMD Athlon 3000+ 1 gb RAM Radeon 9800 Pro to a... Intel Core 2 duo E6750 @ 2.66 2 gb RAM Nvidia 8800 GTS (320 MB) Are we talking double the performance? I can't find any articles to compare the two--as it seems the Athlon 3000 is so old? Ironhand--I figured you were eyeballs deep in doing the voice-over training for Black Shark! Wags had mentioned (somewhere, maybe in the FAQ?) that the reason BS wasn't released yet, was due in part to completing the voice-over training--which I naturally thought would be done by you! :cry: At any rate, it will be fun to watch the Cremean Tour video! :lol: Welcome!

I'm about to take the leap and get a new PC--since the FAQ shows at least a preliminary system requirements. Anyone want to talk me out of it? I'd really like to get one now, so I can finally play Silent Hunter IV, which I bought when it was released, but was never able to play!

My sister in law is trying to talk me into getting a Mac, instead of a new PC--because the new Mac can now boot into a windows install, essentially making it a PC. I was wary, but saw a youtube video of a guy running IL2 on a mac, with smooth framerates. Can I assume BS will work as well?

I doubt we will get afm for a-10, for 40 bucks, when the US ANG is paying, presumably, a hell of a lot more than that for it! Plus the US ANG probably bought exclusive rights for their simulation, or its iteration. It would be like buying a joint strike fighter for $30,000 on a car lot after they go into service.
