Ok. 4) this is a tough one. I already had DCS installed on my SSD only before but only the startup was faster, nothing else. That requires everything to be reinstalled. I leave that for later. 5) Don't know how to do that. 6) check. 7) check. There is no NV_Cache folder in my NVIDIA Corporation folder 9) Don't know how to do that.

I run DCS my workstation (see below for details) which I am also using for work and other purposes too. Sometimes I switch DCS to the background to finish some other tasks on my PC: When switching DCS back to full screen after 15mins DCS runs so stuttering and slow that need to restart. This behaviour is reproduceable. I don't know whether this can be considered as a bug or not. Just want to share my observations.

... and another VelocityOne Flight Desk miracle - at least to me Got my VelocityOne Flight Desk setup now, both stick and throttle with latest firmware installed, all buttons, sliders and axes have 100% functionality, as checked with the latest Flight Hangar. Everything works fine with DCS. Almost. Altough the hardware is confirmed and tested 100% functional DCS does not seem to recognize analogue axis Rz, D and Z (throttle). The same applies to S axis on stick. I cross checked that with MSFS2024 and got the same issue. The hardware is definetly working. What's wrong ? Any fix available?

Start multiple actions with single key?

You're a very helpful ressource, my friend -
Start multiple actions with single key?

Thanks, but I'd rather not like to add another piece of hardware to my already hopelessly scrambled and packed desk. I still hope there is a software path or app available for this. But your comment pointed me to another option. I use a VelocityOne Throttle with a configurable display and soft buttons. Perhaps they could be used to start keyboard macros somehow. Need to check. -
Start multiple actions with single key?

Thanks (again). -
I don't know whether there was already a thread for this issue, at least I couldn't find any. I would like to start multiple actions with a single key press or HOTAS button. For example: upon releasing the gear I would also like to start nose wheel steering. Or generate an auto start sequence startind with a single button. Is this possible?

Ah yes, you're right ! Should have recognized your avatar sooner. No, I don't know how to do that. In the meantime I clicked on every available button or knob in the cockpit to see what is changing. No impact to HUD only dashboard displays unfortunately. Sometimes it's also a bit tricky to identify the correct german entrys because the translation in DCS does not use the "normal" german idioms. It might be easier - at least for me - to use an english DCS version, but that requires me to change my complete PC system to english. Anyway, don't spend too much time on my "problem". If HUD only does not work I'll learn to use normal cockpit display including dashboard

Regarding head tracking I did some tests with opentrack . It works but it took some time to get the display smoothed and stabilized. Unfortunately I get nausea looking on the constant turning and moving screen with my large 57" ultra wide screen. Not an option for me. I guess there was a reason for not becoming a fighter pilot in my real life ... The Link is 14 years old and the file structure seem to have changed. At least the referred file MFCD_init.lua does not exist anymore in any directory. The 3 square screens in HUD only display seem to be copies of the 3 main displays on the dashboard. At least they show the same content. May there is a way to reduce the size of the center display?
-
Ok. Unfortunately I'm way too unexperienced to understand and edit lua files without screwing them up. I've just purchased the F-18 modul during the lunar sales two days ago and just started simming and gaming two months ago when I bought a complete new system after my old laptop is completely outdated after 14 years of work. I would appreciate it if you could point me to a link to the referred thread. Thanks for having patience with me.

No, it's not the kneeboard. That opens and closes with RShift+K in a seperate window and works fine. It is also not the F10 map. My HUD screen looks like this: The windows left and right are fine, although it would als be nice to scale or move them. I would like to eliminate the map in center because it blocks my VFR flight. The graphic also shows why the center map is much more disturbing on a 32:9 screen than on a 16:9 or 21:9 screen. The center map is half of the screen height on my display. I'm also not able to select the center window because there is just a yellow cross which does not select any window.

After purchasing the F-18 module just two days ago I am working my way through the training lessons and getting familiar with all commands and key binds. As I like to fly with HUD only display I wonder whether it is possible to disable the map display blocking the center of view. I am flying on an ultra wide screen with 32:9 ratio and the map display is blocking a good portion of the center view. How can I disable or at least shrink it? Thanks.

-
Just to close the hide stick issue: it only works in a clickable cockpit which does not seem to be the case for the SU-27 (FC) module. Just got this from the the german DCS community.
-
Klar, das macht Sinn. Clickable Cockpit also.
Verzeiht mir also bitte dumme Fragen Vielen Dank schon mal.

Well, I tested clicking the stick base and anywhere else at or next to the stick, also with BS and any key modifier I could think of, but no success. I guess hiding the sting is simply not possible. I also could not find any corresponding command in the controls table. I am just flying SU-27 FC training lessons atm but it's the same behaviour during a normal mission. May be it's a hidden key binding somewhere hidden deeply in the core or only avaialble in another model than the SU-27, just guessing. Anyway, thanks for your help. I guess, I have to live with it.
-
LAlt+C worked, thanks. Unfortunately clicking the stick base didn't help to hide it. so I'm back to my initial issue. Of couse I added deadzones and spend some time to filter and smooth out the head movement with opentrack. But it wasn't very helpful even with large center deadzones and very gentle movements. With a 57" 1000R display you most likely do not see left and right edge of the display at the same time any more unless you are sitting much further away than usual (which I don't do). Therefore you anyway turn your head from side to side to check what is moving at the very edges. But if each turn makes the display move even further that's causing a lot of irritation. I guess with a 57" 1000R display you just don't need any additional head tracking.

Motion sickness? Well, not really. I don't have a problem in the car, elevator nor on a roller coaster, in an airplane or at sea. Maybe it's because the visual impressions in the brain don't match the physically perceived impressions of movement? This could also be the case with your USAR pilot son. In any case, I'm too old anyway to test this again in the pilot's seat, hence DCS and the other "we don't name it here" blue screen product.
-
well ... I made my 1st experiments with opentrack. After getting the movement smoothed out and well filtered - which took some time - I tested it with DCS. Sorry, but not for me. This constant moving of view field on my 57" ultra wide screen makes me sick and loosing orientation. For my humble flying needs the 57" UW view is wide enough and much less sickening to cope with, at least to me. I also thought about VR (Quest 3 ?) but I am afraid this might be even worse for me. May be some time in the future but not for now. Atm I still try to get that damn stick out of my view and/or disable the view direction from my mouse. Does it make any difference that my "mouse" is in fact a Kensington slim blade track ball?
