This is not HAWKS or COD, where fairness must be always guaranteed, this is a simulator, and the objective is to simulate as possible and playable as we can. I don’t understand where is the need on trying to make that skills is the only difference between winning or losing. -

Changelog of the current mission setup: - Mirage 2000C moved to Red side. (India joined the war , NATO vs RUSSIA concept remains the same except of the Mirage change.) - Replaced SA-8 groups with SA-3 SAM sites - Dogfight missiles only available - Cluster bombs (CBU-52/ MK-20/ RBK/ CBU-87) available again - LGB Guided bombs removed - Replaced the building (Barracks) in the airbases with 6x Armed houses - Changed time of day (the night mission is replaced with a dusk one for better dogfighting) - Added fuel trucks to Red FARPs - Added 2nd Mi-8 to Beslan :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: -

That screen is from the top of the highest mountain of the map. No soft soils around there.

I am not asking for ED to add a CFD explosion simulator. I am only expressing my point of view, which is that a bomb run like that should have had some effect on the target. And that as it is today, is kind of useless to drop Mk-82 with M2K because a direct hit is practically never expected. Now that you ask, I think that simply adding a little more power to the bomb will do it.

Yes, but a house made of concrete would be a bunker. This house has a chimney and tiles roof. That seems to me like a common house made of bricks.

Yesterday I drop 8 Mk-82 bombs with Mirage-2000C and the results are in the next image (sorry for the quality) What I am about to say is pure opinion based on 0 technical data. I believe that the second and third impact (from top to bottom) should have destroyed the house and unutilized the radar (to the right of the impact point) which has a fragile structure as opposite to bmp´s. The third and fourth impact should have destroyed or at least unutilized both bmp´s. As it is today Mk-82 are practically useless when used with Mirage-2000C accuracy. What do you think?

1- that is not a INS. 2- Try flying an airplane with your eyes close and then tell me how it goes. And yes I totally agree. The only issue is the player icon.

We can say that momentum, g´s and deceleration are all the same thing. I agree that there are certain aspects of real life that we aren’t able to simulate. But human’s don´t have a biological inertial navigation system, so I don’t understand what g-force has to do with navigation, and why having the player in F10 view makes up for all the non-simulated aspects. Like QuiGon sed. It’s a shame that we have all the navigation instruments modelated and they are turn useless by having the player in F10 view.

Yes I did and it wasn’t any nightmare. But I am not proposing making a flight plan, I´m only asking for the F10 player position to be deactivated. F10 view has all the frequencies, VOR, TACAN, Lat & Long, etc. There is no need of making a preflight briefing. Following your line of reasoning let’s just spawn with airplanes running, instruments aligned, unlimited weapons, etc. And I never saw anyone taking off from taxy roads in this server, is may be possible but not the rule. The idea is to raise the bar.

About the player on F10 view subject. I would say that the server is almost perfect! No external view, NATO vs Warsaw planes, CGI, etc. :thumbup: But the F10 subject it erases completely the simulation environment immersion. :cry: 1) I could decide not to open the F10 view, but someone else will and he will have an advantage over me. 2) This is not HWAKS, this is DCS. Navigation is a part of flying, and for a war machine and its pilots is as important as his combat capabilities. 3) If F10 player position was not available, it would be much harder to fly low through the mountain to surprise an enemy. You could do that, but you’ll have to pay the consequences of that tactic. (Getting lost, losing radio navigation signals, etc.) 4) There are people that say that aircraft like Mig-21 are difficult because they have a very poor navigation equipment. But I would say that is one of the easiest to navigate, just put the RSBN channel and you are done. You have the radial and distance from nearest airport. Then you can use the F10 view as a navigation chart just to calculate vectors and position. 5) It also serves as an advantage for dose who are in TS or SR and can use GCI as a navigation assistance. So it also will encourage lone wolfs to use TS or SR. I could continue but I think my point is made. Maybe is a difficult change for someone that is not use to using the aircraft instruments for navigation, but I there are a lot of thing that we don´t do because we think are difficult, and when we are forced to learn them we discover that they were not that hard as we thought. Just my point of view.

I couldn't agree more! Large sea, the Falkland at 600 of the continent makes more intresting missions. Great for carrier ops and it has very litle land and cities, and lot of water, wich alsow makes it easy yo model.

I saw one yesterday. They frequently fly over my farm. Ther are looking for not declared runways. I would be fun for a falklands sectario. And ir alsow would be the first turboprop. But nothing more thai that.

I was wondering about the effectiveness of the bombs. I drop a pair of FAB-500 to a M1 Abrams and one of them impart at about 5m (at most) of the tank. The bomb did nothing... I suppose that a bomb with an explosive weight of 207Kg at a 5 meter distance would leave the tank useless... I don't know if its and DCS World issue or Mig-21 itself.
