  1. So myself and Deephack had some fun with both the M2000C and the MiG21 with a fictional air policing scenario. Feel free to check it out!

  3. Gr.1 All the way. It's the aircraft I fell in love with.
  4. Ok, sure. :megalol: I guess we'll see when it comes out of beta.
  5. In this thread from the admittedly small number that don't see the point of it at all. Personal as in, not online discussion, with other simmers. So yeah, there are people that just want to jump in and go pew pew. So give them that option, let the admin set it on the server and the rest can have full real or mem-align. No on has to be unhappy, all markets catered for.
  6. Because there are people griping that they don't want to wait more then 20 seconds. I know, right!
  7. I don't understand why it can't be a server realism setting... Problem solved. Everyone happy. Don't want to wait, play on a different server. Want to wait, enable the option. I listened to the podcast, and I got the feeling, as excellent as RAZBAM are, it seems to me that they don't fully get the level of fanaticism in the DCS community, and are trying to be a little too FSX about the whole thing. I get their point. I understand what they are saying, waiting that time isn't fun. But for some it is, through having that realism. If they try and force it, I think they will find themselves on the receiving end of an excrement storm of "VEAO hawk cockpit texture" proportions. And it won't endear them to the more extreme and vocal end of the community. While this might not be their target market, or the market that makes them the most money, it's the end of the community that is the loudest, responds least proactively to "gameplay considerations" but most importantly shapes opinions through reviews, online comment, and videos. So it's simple. Make it an option/server setting. Done. And. Dusted. Everyone wins, insert bacon, step 6... profit.
  8. This should help you understand what's going on. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collimated_light
  9. Razbam have said the ground handling is not right. It's being worked on.
  10. Nope. The aircraft is a delta with elevons and leading edge slats automatically deployed by the FBW system. It's all in the manual. Lol. Sniped ;)
  11. Ther are no flaps. The controls list is work in progress.
  12. Yeah. We need this.
  13. Yep. Having to click 90 times to command a turn. Fun! A small thing though. Otherwise I'm loving it.
  14. Sounds like you operate one of these in real life. I love hearing this kind of detail. Hope we can see it in the sim!
  15. I'm still learning this whole YouTube foo... but here is my offering. A tutorial covering countermeasures, selective jettison, radar, missiles, canon and close combat modes. Hopefully you can see past the fumbles and get something useful out of it!
  16. Just popped up another video. In this one I attempt to demonstrate the air to air systems of the M2000C. Countermeasures, Radar, 530D, Magic, Canon and Close Combat Modes. I also show how to do a selective jettison. Hopefully I haven't stuttered my way through this too much :-) Still learning the art of YouTube, so I hope it's useful.
  17. That's really useful info Wingnut. Thanks! :-)
  18. This has been known and complained about ever since A-10C came out, and how long ago is that now? It really does need looked at and a new solution found. If the whole of the Black sea map can be retextured (admittedly with third party help) why can't the vehicles be retextured in the same way to make a proper thermal image work? The current implementation feels cheap compared to the high standard of other parts of the sim. It just doesn't make sense to me that a primary sensor should be so badly simulated. Sorry if that sounds harsh. It just bugs me.
  19. Or to put it another way... the HUD is about 220mm wide. Mark it on a ruler and hold that out to slightly less then arms length. The width that you see there should be how it is on your monitor. It's a lot more zoomed in then you think. Set your view to that and everything is the correct "apparent" size and has much reduced fisheye effect (you will always get a little when projecting 3d onto a 2d screen) but either way your depth perception and understanding of speed will thank you for it.
  20. Actually, to play devil's advocate for a moment. All the default FoVs are far too wide. It's like looking through a 35mm lens as opposed to a 50mm lens. Ideally what you want is for the view through the monitor to have the same angular field of view as what your monitor is in your actual view as you sit in your chair. When you do the maths on it and plug the numbers into the lua file you do end up looking very zoomed in. The default startup for the mirage is much closer to reality then the zoomed out view. Why is this important though? Well the cues that we use to judge distance, and how high we are, particularly off the runway and relative size are all screwed up when the FoV is too wide. The down side is that obviously, you are going to loose a lot of peripheral vision. The compromise is use a head tracker and look around more. Trust me, try it for a while and you will soon be spot landing and flying with a 1 knot/1 degree accuracy :-) This would make much more sense I suppose if I drew a diagram. lol I usually assign my view to the slider on my throttle. I make the maximum the 1:1 zoomed in FoV calculated to my 34" monitor from my seated position and the other end zoomed out so I can have some peripheral vision in a dogfight.
  21. I also think people are having a disconnect between what they are expecting it to fly like and what a FBW aircraft actually flies like. Other then the Su27 there isn't really a fully FBW airframe in the sim. I think what RAZBAM have done is superb. I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy the M2000c but it's fast becoming a favourite now. A pure joy to dogfight in.
  22. So I have been persuaded by Deephack to give this whole YouTube thing a go then! I'll hopefully be posting up my antics in DCS for you to watch and maybe some tutorials. Check it out at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC73Bl7hZgqFmCcl1Hufj3Yg And if you like it go ahead and subscribe!
  23. My first ever YouTube video... and it's about the M2000c, Check it out, be gentle ;-)
  24. Everything is set to run as admin in compatibility tab but still crashing out. But I'll hold off as it sounds like you're getting a lot of stuff fixed with this version. Thanks.
  25. Having major issues currently with getting Aries to run on Windows 10. Constantly crashes TS, and then TS runs fine with it uninstalled. Is this version going to have any improvements regarding Windows 10 stability?
