My boss decided I needed to use my leave entitlement before the end of the year so without warning gave me the next three working days off today. He couldn't understand why I was weeping with joy and kissing his feet.

Allow separate Audio Outputs for Different Sounds

Yup this would be a great addition. Also more control over what we can change the volume of between outside/inside/engines of the aircraft. -
Everyone 'F5-ing' the hell out of the forums for the news lol. 6pm in Moscow now. I wonder how the discussions went.

Su25t can perform SEAD tasks and is available on both blue and red coalitions.

Never mind. Just saw the specs. gtx 960m I'm guessing he just typoed... I can't see how you'd even get that into a case.

British Airways 777 catches fire on runway at McCarran

You could see in one of the pictures on the BBC article that flames are coming from under the cowling of the port engine. -

Doesn't even bear thinking about what could have happened if the problem started as he rotated. Fortunately full stop on the runway and close proximity of fire services prevented a disaster. I thought the fire bottles on the engine could extinguish an engine fire even on the ground? -

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/sep/09/british-airways-plane-catches-fire-at-las-vegas-airport Last picture, you can enlarge it by clicking on it. You can see the fuselage is holed quite significantly for at least two rows. Looks pretty Ronnied to me. -

Yeah, at the end of one of the videos, (sadly update now by the BBC and no longer show) you could see that the inboard leading edge is badly damaged as is the fuselage. I think certainly the fuselage wold require a large section replaced on the left side. Don't know what the structural integrity would be like after that. That said engineers do amazing things. -

Is that an African or European swallow? -
Back in the early 90's I watched two pilots from the Jaguar Conversion Unit doing low level runs through Glen Beanie. When they had to cross a ridge their method was to roll inverted and pull g into the valley over the top of the ridge before going 90 degree bank angle into the valley and then rolling back upright. It was so low I could look up and see the knee boards on the flight suit, certainly lower then 200ft off the ridge. I was told that this method minimsed their exposure time to threats when they had to cross the ridge and meant they pulled g rather then a g pushover. Was bloody impressive to watch. Check out some of the Mach Loop videos on YouTube of the RAF flying the Welsh valleys. It can get pretty extreme. You havn't lived until you've seen a C130 flying below you in a valley :-). Also some of the GR1 pilots in Desert Storm flew operationally down to 20ft through sand dunes. That their TFR couldn't detect. Balls of steel required for that.

Neither. If you look in the Track IR software, you will see that there are hotkeys in the profile that you are using. They pause the track IR or put it in precision mode. They are usually on the f keys so will conflict with the communication menus in DCS. Just unselect them or bind them to a different set of keys.

I am wondering if anyone can help me out with some research. I am looking for any documents or guides on how the RAF conducts formation flying. Particularly around the communication within a flight. Is there any formal brevity or phraseology, or is it quite ad hoc? For example does lead announce direction or altitude changes or are you expected to just be able to react? Under what circumstance would you see a formation landing or takeoff, if any? Also, in a CAS role, if there is a 2 or 4 aircraft formation, but only one target was tasked by a FAC what would the other aircraft do? Stand off or follow lead? Again I'm looking for how UK forces would do this. If anyone could point me in the direction of some good documents I would be very grateful. I've been looking through all the MAA manuals available online and the CAP413 Radio Telephony Manual and I can't find anything that relates to management within a formation. Thank you all in advance! (Damn! just realised I typoed the thread title... can a friendly mod change this for me?)

That is CLEARLY a MiG-28! It DOES exist! Your information on the MiG-28 is incorrect.:smilewink::megalol::P

Now that brings back some memories. One thing that all the sims/games did back then was really create immersion. The video briefings in Navy Fighters, or the crew room photos in Tornado. That kind of "I feel part of the world" is sadly lacking these days in sims. But yes. Look forward to the Harrier and recreating my teenage years!

Mike, you may find this article interesting http://www.wired.com/2015/01/microsoft-hands-on/ As well as this video. While it is just a demo of minecraft. You can see where this could end up with a little vision, everything has to start somewhere.

But to bring this back on topic. Have a look at Hololens. https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-hololens/en-us I saw a live demo of this and was utterly blown away by it. It's bordering on witchcraft. This *may* be the answer to combining a wrap around view with a physical pit. ;-)
