  1. While i work for Milviz I am not Milviz despite my username(I am merely the coder on this baby and a couple other future projects and im still trying to get my username changed to Naruto-kun) and as such i visit these forums really only for DCS A-10 and Combined arms stuff...The Big Cheese or Big Kahuna KrazyColin as we know him is someone else and i dont think he is on these forums...
  2. Creating those effects on the flight model isnt too hard...already happens actually. Visual model isnt too hard either. Just time consuming to make all the broken bits.
  3. JB3DG

    Is it out yet?

Hmm...what sort of "attributes" did this pen have? Are there any DrawLine()/DrawLines or other functions that have it in their parameters? :P
  4. I have used AGMs on numerous occasions as A2A weapons...even taking down some MiG-29s with em.
  5. You normally blow yourself up in a power dive pushing negative G just after bomb release or during.
  6. It should be Shift + 1 or 2 or one of those numbers....toggles the popup panel windows
  7. I have noticed that GBU-10s/12s tend to accelerate (naturally this is what you would expect) when on the final dive at the target. But the GBU-31 slows down...dunno why cuz that seems to defy physics.
  8. I have locked on to MANPADs with the FLIR before. You just have to zoom in reeeeeally close. And the AGM-65D has locked on at around 5-6nm.....you have to stay up high though.
  9. So a couple times while playing various campaign missions....I order the SEAD flights in and they let off their AGM-88s at the SA-19s stationed around the target. And ill be damned....the SA-19s shoot the HARMs down! is this....accurate to RW?
  10. The smallest things can cause the biggest trouble and because they are so small they are hard to find. For example there was that time when several F-86s crashed killing their pilots and no one could figure out why until Chuck Yeager did a slow roll over a friend's house and his aileron locked. When they checked the controls out they found a small bolt on one of the hydraulic cylinders that was installed upside down. Turns out an old guy on the assembly line ignored orders because he believed bolts had to be installed head up not head down.
  11. Yep the charts you listed are what im looking for. However I have found only 1 site that has them and they are not digital. And they are really pricy....I was wondering where DCS got theirs. And im looking for non old charts...
  12. Where can i find the charts used in the A-10 TAD in digital format? I want them for other areas for another sim.
  13. try zooming in. Sometimes you just need to zoom in a little in order to get it to track.
  14. The only difference in terms of systems capabilities (im not talking about graphics here cuz DCS and FSX have entirely different engines) between DCS and FSX is that in FSX, hooks have been created in the engine that allow developers to bypass the FSX engine (this includes flightmodelling as well) and put their own entirely custom systems in place. In DCS, everything is already in place or is made from scratch and added to the engine since the DCS team is still working on it. To quote the guy who taught me programming and guided me through the FSX SDK, "The only limits are your skill and imagination.".
  15. When it comes to aircraft systems (including weapon systems) ANYTHING that can be done in DCS can be done in FSX. Its not hard for coders. It is all about taking full advantage of the FSX SDK and knowing how to use the hooks into the system that it provides. So its not a case of FSX being light years behind DCS, its more a case of addon developers not knowing or not using the SDK to its full potential.
  16. Thank you for warning me ;). Gives me a chance to work out some tactics for it if there are no SEAD birds around. Although granted i will be screwed if the terrain is flat...
  17. Hence i mentioned the circling the battlefield out of range. Gives me a chance to find anyone who is trying to hide and wipe em before they can do anything.
  18. Which effectively renders him useless since the building will get in the way of his radar and if he can find me i can find him :P. Besides there is such a thing as circling the battlefield .
  19. They just musnt run for the SAMs and AAA units. Those are normally the first i wipe out once i enter the target area. There aint no defence against a AGM-65D.
  20. @Boberro Am aware of their true size....After all a 5inch rocket would look absolutely ridiculous if it was barely a foot long :D :megalol:
  21. Zoinks that bomb is nearly as big as i am....and its only a GBU-38?
  22. Also remember that there is some rather heavy software piracy in the FSX addon world and as such, they have to resort to locking out pirates by making them pay. Sounds quite reasonable to me. Not to mention that I would gladly have paid $50+ for their product due to its extremely high systems fidelity.
  23. It was a joke. From reading other posts over there i dont think its a case of they wanted it but couldnt get it. It looks more like a case of they looked at it but decided it wasnt worth their time.
  24. Less weight from the cloths? LOL. Would be amusing if DCS modelled that.
  25. Cold-->more oxygen because of high air density---->engines generate more thrust Warm-->less oxygen because of low air density------>engines generate less thrust
