  1. Personally I would say the only limitations that people could have a reason to complain about is the graphics engine of FSX. As long as the SDK is sufficiently open enough (which it is) there is no limit to the systems or the flight model fidelity that can be achieved, nor is there a limit to the combat environment (AI abilities and such) fidelity.
  2. You are only on my radar when i see friendly tanks blowing up and your air cover is either dead or of no concern(fleeing).
  3. From what i can tell, the APG-63 (which is the one simulated in FC3) doesnt have the 15deg/6bar TWS scan. Only the APG-70 and APG-63(v1) have it. However the real thing has a high data rate option of 30deg/2bar scan. It also has a high data 30deg/3 bar scan (the APG-70 has this as well but not the APG-63(v1)).
  4. Check my post #62 in this thread
  5. Yeah when they did the flight model for this bird it was a couple years ago not long after acceleration came out. Just recently someone discovered a way around the spoolup time problem (which was actually available in FSX and even FS9 and older sims all along), and I myself am investigating a possible solution to the roll inertia problem.
  6. Theres a couple posts about it in the VRS forums. Another feature that has been of primary interest to me is their plans to go outside the FSX flight model using their own engine to control the 6DOF velocities. Pretty much just like AFM in DCS. FSX does provide those hooks but until recently no FSX dev has really thought of (or had the aerodynamics knowlege) needed to do it.
  7. 1: The former. Launch zone changes with closing velocity, altitude and the like. Basically the missile physics are modelled in the same way as the missile AFM in DCS world. (I know some of you may find that hard to believe that but its true. It all boils down to controlling the 6DOF velocities of the missile and SimConnect provides the means to do just that for any object in FSX). 2: Yes, yes, yes, and yes
  8. Lol Mower is this really you? Finally seeing the potential that FSX has?
  9. Yep. You can even buddy lase.
  10. Also sent ya a PM Conure
  11. I dont know what ED has done in FC3 but according to the manuals i have, beam width is 2.5 deg, however bar spacing varies with the scan type. I havent gone through everything yet but typical spacing between bars is 1 deg. At 20nm range bar spacing becomes 2.5 deg and at 10nm it becomes 3.4 deg. Someone correct me if im wrong.

functionallity is NOT a problem for me at all. I dont have a HOTAS...but i do have some of the commands done using keyboard combined with my hatswitch. I know the systems off by heart pretty much. But battle techniques...strategy...that sort of thing. Thats where i want a good instructor.

Gee....no one willing to point me to the guys that the community looks up to the most?

It would be the upper end....the legends of realism. That said, I know the A-10 systems pretty much totally....theres just some skills I need to master that require an instructor wiho has great patience.

So Im curious....there has to be a few in the DCS A-10 and FC2/3 MP community who are considered the top pilots and instructors....Who are they and what groups do they fly with?
  17. Can i get this mission please? I need some stress relief....
  18. CAS undercompensating perhaps?
  19. What would sort out the comms issue is a ingame voice com system tied to the UHF and VHF radios just like F4 BMS....Heck even FSX has that.

    SimHQ down?

    Nope still down here...

    SimHQ down?

http://www.simhq.com/ Why does it take me to some unregistered domain to do with micro biology and other lab technology stuff?
  22. Unofficial rumor but i can confirm that it does work in P3D as it was recently tested by one of the guys....
  23. As someone who is very familiar with what Simconnect and good programming skills can provide, I can assure you that the potential of FSX is SORELY underestimated. My mentor drilled this into me: "The only limitations are your skill and imagination."
