  1. Just got my shipping notification!
  2. A bit different though right? How many vehicles were released with incomplete features? All of the new features hit Open Beta first. So yeah, in order to avoid a broken experience we could continue to play the Release (2.5.5.X) version of the game while we wait months for a Beta patch to become stable enough to push to the Release channel. We already have to wait long enough for new features in Open Beta. Now those new features are hitting and we cannot even enjoy them because of the performance issues. On top of that, Open Beta is supposed to serve as a platform to contribute to bug smashing. Less people playing, the less effectiveness an Open Beta serves.
  3. Yep, trying to be patient with COVID19. Look at the US right now. I hardly think people are going to be getting some items they ordered from a small widget manufacturer any time soon with many non-essential businesses being closed down. Hopefully this blows over soon... I want to get a beer at a pub.
  4. Sorry I did not think this required additional explanation but that was my bad. The entire game window. I am seeing micro stutters in the entire window that expands onto my main view port (in view cockpit) and all my exports through multiple screens.
  5. Anyone having performance issues exporting to 2nd/3rd (or more) monitors in 2.5.6?
  6. Here's the issue. I'm running every setting on the lowest in 2.5.6. and still my FPS is messed up. This is on a 2080 TI, dedicated SSD, 32 GB RAM, 8700k @ 5.2ghz. Everything overclocked and water cooled. For many of us we have close to the best PC for this application that money can buy. I do not have this issue in any other game but DCS. This is a DCS issue and quite frankly, DCS has had significant performance issues in the VR space for some time. I appreciate ED adding new lighting features and things to enhance how the game works, but it cannot be at a cost of serious performance issues in a game that already has performance issues. Further, I cannot even use my SimPit any more because exporting to separate monitors causes massive stuttering for me. As of now I have not logged onto DCS since 2.5.6. I check each patch, play with settings for two hours and then give up. The only setup, which mind you works flawlessly, is if I just use my 34" monitor with nothing else.
  7. I did a complete fresh install including formatting my SSD, no joy.
  8. I'm seeing similar results. Although, occasionally the GPU spikes up to 75%. I've seen better results if I literally put every setting to the lowest it can go and PD to 1.0 in steam and DCS. But even then it's spotty. This, of course, is with a 2080ti overclocked to hell and water cooled and a 8700k @ 5.2ghz and water cooled. 32GB RAM. Every game works flawlessly. Other quite graphically intense games do not have the performance issue that DCS is experiencing in VR. Further, even if I set up a mission with me only... frames are all over the place.
  9. and of course after posting I found it... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030
  10. I've been searching on the forums for 30 minutes now and I can't find the instruction on how to force DCS to update between stable and beta. I know there is a way to do it without reinstalling the entire game/path. I'm having issues with 2.5.6 and need to go back to 2.5.5. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  11. I've also implemented the changes below and have the exact same behavior. Something is up with the terrain in VR.
  12. Thank you for the update BN. I have some observations from my several hours of testing yesterday that I hope you find useful. SUMMARY: - Any time the terrain is within the FOV, regardless if the user can actually see the terrain, there is massive FPS loss/stuttering. - If you imagine the cockpit is transparent and the user is looking down into the cockpit and the terrain is in the FOV there is impact to FPS. - Fly inverted and look towards the seat, smooth FPS, but look up towards the top of the canopy at the ground and massive FPS loss/stuttering. SETTINGS: - everything to lowest possible in DCS - PD set to 1.0 in game and in HPReverb - What I've gathered is that any time the terrain is in the FOV of the user (including through the cockpit) the FPS drop and stuttering is huge. STEPS TO REPRODUCE: - Fly level looking out the canopy towards terrain, move your head around - FPS drop/stuttering - Fly level and look down at your seat and L/R consoles - FPS drop/stuttering - Fly vertical, 90 degrees towards the sky and do not have any terrain in your FOV - FPS is smooth - Fly inverted and level and look down at the terrain, through the canopy - FPS drop/stuttering - Fly inverted and look down towards your seat and L/R consoles - FPS is smooth. Let me know if there is anything else you would like me to test or look into. I'm happy to help.
  13. BN, NL... here is a track that I hope you can do something with. My VR performance is very poor even with medium-high settings on my PC. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1N2Km1O9q3GKH5NWcpBtE4I2Ip9feb-k0/view?usp=sharing If I look out the window and see anything other than clear sky my frames are all over the place and there is stuttering when I move inside the pit. I'd call it a micro stutter, very noticable and all the way through the movement. It's almost like my tracking goes down to 15 frames a second, but DCS reports it high 40-90 but it is all over the place. I use Bit Defender AV, but I turn it off while flying. I shut down all unnecessary processes like Logitech, Corsair, etc. with no change. SPECS: 2080 TI OC'd 8700k @ 3.2 32GB RAM SSD Scale in Steam VR is set at 1.5; DCS IPD = 1.0
  14. Baker - I'm super excited for this release. Any best guess on a initial release date? few weeks - months? Hours??? :)
  15. I mean, this is the core of any game that has ever supported Mod. It is unsurprising but disappointing that ED would brush you off. Whatever though... par for the course I suppose and their rightful decision. Either-way, Baker if you need folks to help you test I would love to. If you take a look at my blog in my signature you'll see I'm very into exports and multi-screen setups.
  16. Baker - have you reached out with ED on any sort of partnership regarding this Mod? This is something us simpit builders have been asking about for years. Does it break the MP integrity check? I assume the F15 exports related to the RWR would, but probably not the already easily exported items (IE: A10c/F18c stuff).
  17. The reality is that the team is splitting their efforts between both aircraft. It's unfortunately going to take a lot longer than I think any of us had hoped when we originally bought into these Early Access releases. ...it is what it is. ED knows the community is upset, but they aren't changing direction.
  18. Perhaps that might be a question of intuitiveness... For the life of me I could not figure out how to build custom interfaces within Helios; not through the UI. I could move around panels, but in terms of creating something similar to what I did in IKARUS... it seemed impossible unless you were developing things behind the scences, in the code. And that might be the difference here.
  19. Take a look at my blog in my signature. IKARUS offers far more customization. You can build you own panels, buttons to create custom touch screen interfaces. More specifically: https://guppy.home.blog/2019/07/19/intro-to-ikarus/
  20. I don't think Mav was questioning the validity of G B; I think he was asking out of curiosity...
  21. http://guppy.home.blog take a reading, when you have time. There are some guides on multi monitor setups, exporting and leveraging IKARUS.
  22. ED Team - SA Page is continuing to shred FPS; especially noticeable in VR. I'm going from 90 FPS to 60-70. Even in just the Free flight PG mission. Even into the 40s at times. At this point would tracks continue to help? If tracks will be a benefit I can make some quick ones illustrating this. Otherwise just please note that it is continuing to be a struggle for many of us. Thanks, Gup
  23. In some tests yesterday, in a heavily populated 104th server, the SA page was performing much better. Only a handful of frames were lost. I'll continue to monitor and attach any tracks that might be useful moving forward. Thanks for the quick turnaround, appreciate it.
  24. Instead of trying to do a Case I... just fly dirty, trimmed on speed AOA and make 30 degree turns trying to stay at the same altitude. This will teach you how she responds.
