To my mistake I forgot to bookmark the link/Forum post and now, for the life of me, I cannot find it again. There was a post that linked where you could buy caps/extensions for toggle switches to make them look like A-10c switches (like the ones found on the CMS). Any ideas where to get these - I'm driving myself batty looking for them.

For a month I was using my SimPit (below in my signature) and VR (Vive Pro). My experience was disappointing. My challenge was that VR is supposed to better immerse you into your environment. Flicking a switch that is not where it is supposed to be (or to your left vs. your right) really ruined it for me. I think if you were to decide on one aircraft and build it out exactly where the switches are in game-VR you would have quite a wonderful experience. The challenge there would be obviously the limiting factor of being stuck to one aircraft. I did manage to get my L/R DDI and AMPCD in roughly the same place as they are in game, but they aren't to the real size. So that can cause a bit of clunckiness but was much easier to get used to then toggles/buttons being in the wrong spot. You can certainly learn and memorize where things are, but it breaks that immersion and feels a bit discombobulating. I think the best solution for VR users is for better hand sensors that allow you to physically interact with a digital pit. Captogloves were on the right track, but everything I've read to date is that it's many years from being usable. Unless, of course, you're fine with flying one plane or building multiple pits.... or okay with feeling a bit discombobulated.

Except the VR technology is not exploding like high res monitors, etc. Most the the new VR tech is made for people who want to do fun little cellphone games, Google earth and silly little gimmick things, sadly. The major investment area is not hard core gaming/simulation - it's the fun little apps you can do at home with a wireless headset. There isn't enough money in the highend/simulation arena for these manufacturers/software designers. I assume the reason for this is that the PC tech to power high res units/processing is not there yet. Or a better way to code/optimize. VR is fun, but gamers care about eye candy. It's hard to sell them on something that doesnt look good. By good, i mean clarity, jagged edges, etc. -
You sound like you would be a great supporter and advocate for a certain space-sim that appears will never be completed. Joking aside, development is getting a bit lengthy. Is it 1 more year? 2 more? 3 more? I do love the plane, but come on!

Looking good - Loving the gear handle! V.II is getting cut this week - pickup is on Friday.

HJP - what makes the F-14 difficult to implement? I figured it would be no different than any other module (which I'm sure is difficult)? I've been patiently waiting for the IKARUS F14 :)

Exorcet, others - I don't think this is the right game for you, unfortunately. This is a study level simulation that requires a vast amount of effort and practicing to gain proficiency. If this is too hard for you, or others, then I suggest a recent arcade game (that I won't mention due to rules) that has all of the aspects of "easy" you are searching for. You can even play in on a console or PC and has HOTAS support. The time you are sitting here arguing with us you could be training and learning to overcome a realistic aspect of flying a simulated jet fighter. There is a lot of advice in this thread, all very good, that could help you and others over this very real challenge. With that, I'm done responding.

If you don't know how to lock onto a target and fire a missile you cannot have combat related missions. How do you get over this? Read/watch youtube/practice. It's no different with AAR. You're assuming the this "assist" or "easy" refuel option is going to make the player eventually able to tackle the "real" version. It's not. They're going to get used to the easy version and still be unable to do the real version because of the same exact struggles they experienced before. It's practicing the fundamentals that will get folks over the hump. IE: formation flying, visual cues, etc. If you put me on a bike with training wheels I still don't know how to balance without the training wheels. I still need someone to hold me until I learn. the only things training wheels teach me is that I'm not going to fall off the bike and I can bike with others. But once they're removed I still havent learned how to balance.

Probably should just practice formation flying for a bit; get used to small corrections/stabilization. It takes time and practice. Along with carrier landings and other aspects of flight.

I'd call the refuel we have today as easy. Supposedly they are working on more realistic refueling, turbulence, etc. Especially when the chute just sort of juts over to make contact when you're "close enough" Curious what this thread/request will turn into when we have the more difficult option enabled. ha

HJP - the whiskey compass in the hornet is not working; latest version.
-
There were some design flaws and wear down because of it, as I understand it.

yes

You could cut them down to the size you need... but I don't think you would want to go down that route. They are not adjustable in the width.

If I remember correctly the class type used with the stock Hornet Profile that you supply. I only changed the positions and imagines for on/off. Would it help if I sent you my profile and Images? PM me your email and I'll get them to you when I get home.

It was actually presented in May 2017 at E3. According to Jabbers and others, in 2018, during that E3, they suspected by end of the year 2018 based on what they heard in the booths from TM employees. 1 year later and not a single peep.

HJP, i've confirmed it works the same even when I only have my main Monitor up and running (all others off). I appreciate you looking into it!

Well, 60fps did not fix the issue. I also launched the harrier and a10c; just the stock IKARUS profiles and it’s the same result. I even turned off the screens and just used it over the game. Same issue. As far as my card situation... not running SLI. They are two different cards so Windows views whatever is in the primary PCIx slot as the renderer. Any additional cards are just extra ports, no configuration needed.

Thank you for your nice words regarding my blog. My next post will be regarding IKARUS and the configuration of custom interfaces. I run a 2080 Ti and a 1660 Ti. Each have 4 ports. The 1660 does not do any rendering; windows views it just for its ports. I'll take a look at the framerate stuff this evening.

I'll take a look at that HJP - is there a place I can set the FPS limiter to? Is it a LUA file?

HJP, the above should help explain what I'm experiencing. Let me know your thoughts please!
