  1. If you are sitting in the plane on the runway, keypress is, LAlt plus ' ,will bring up a loadout screen that allows you to make some changes.
  2. I see a similar thing, no mods at all. Not been to the paint shop just yet I suspect :)
  3. Definitely be most beneficial. Much time saved sifting through cold war assets and other stuff. +1 great suggestion.
  4. The Spit pit and effects look really good my side, the 51 and 109 could use some lovin though regarding the canopy effect. Need to still lload up the 190. I suppose its a factor of when the modules were released like the 51 has been around for a long long time and certain things were not factored into it? All good, this is an alpha and very much a work in progress. Also had a few maps were I set up some vehicles to do stuff (probably incorrectly) but they were driving through buildings and stuff. Had 2 trains following each other on a random map, shot out the first one and the other past through it as though it wasn't there. I dunno how all this works in the other versions as I have not tried, just mentioning what I see here in the Alpha. edit: iow, not criticism, just observations
  5. Any new terrain or theater is always most welcome in my book. The more the merrier.
  6. I think it looks quite good, the shadows move nicely. If I have the land shadows not set to flat I get some flickering, but that could be my setup or rig most likely. Anyway, a run down to Saint-Lo.
  7. Its a photo but some scenes in the sim look pretty darn alright as well I can tell you.
  8. An institution! Learn't a lot from this site in the past. Makes sense man, youtube channel will certainly do the trick and save beer money. Best of luck and thanks! S
  9. It should, God (of choice) does great work :smilewink: fps is much the same as the other versions, some say better. All depends on your machine and how you choose to run it I suppose, but no massive trauma. If you currently can run the other versions of DCS this should not be a problem at all.
  10. same again just different time. In the screeny I posted earlier I would be interested to know how to remove the haze if one can. Fog was set to off, and used the default thunderstorm preset. Will try some more later on the week.
  11. Heres an autumn setting with heavy rain. Looks much better than the default thunderstorm preset 720 to save time.
  12. The Normandy map at this stage is a completely separate instal, and has its own executable. The whole program needs to be treated as independent of 1.5 or 2.0 for now. This will change at a later stage when things get merged.
  13. It looks a bit iffy tbh I loaded the default Thunderstorm preset in both Normandy and 1.5 In Normandy some nice rain squall effects sitting on the runway. Airborne below the cloud a white haze, and lots of screen flickering flying through the cloud, so I guess still WIP. Same preset was ok in 1.5
  14. I briefly fiddled a bit with it but did not get a result I was hoping for, I think its my mission editor skills or lack of understanding how the weather is set up. Anyone have a current 1.5 or 2.0 mission that can be downloaded with a specific set of weather parameters? Can then mirror that in Normandy editor and see what it coughs up.
  15. Shadows settings in the vids I posted were also set to flat for terrain, if that makes any difference. I believe it just changes the shadows from following the terrain. I think it looks pretty good Compare to this, see the length of the car shadows even, early morning https://www.shutterstock.com/video/clip-8607130-stock-footage-close-up-aerial-view-of-traffic-on-interstate.html?src=rel/2499509:0/gg
  16. A bit more 'B' grade movie sight seeing. Sorry , I'm not good for much else. Up the Seine to Rouen, and Cherbourgh
  17. Looks like Caen is the biggest, a good few other places to go though.
  18. more of my quick and nasty un Spielberg like clips. A quick look at Caen
  19. Sure, 30 knots seems a bit high to just break a glassy surface to produce some whitecaps and chop though. Its just a suggestion, for DCS in general, use it don't use it, all good. S
  20. Not really, my Huey doesnt fly well going backwards in a 40 knot gale  j/k Perhaps just a subtle tweek or so, to give a bit more texture to the glassy surface on less violent wind days? I surfed for most of my life and you don't always require wind in an area to have a high sea state (white caps yes, but around 15knts) as big surf is generated thousands of km away in the open ocean from a severe weather system. You can have a beautifully balmy day with crunching surf and not a breath of wind. The model in DCS is localized condition, requiring the high wind setting. Anyway was just a thought.
  21. Im a noob with the mission editor but perhaps someone can clarify. To get a rough (beautifully looking) sea state, or to whip it up a bit is this only possible by increasing the 'wind' in the mission editor? A sea state setting/option would be great if it doesnt already exist.
  22. Hi Firstly, thanks ED for a wonderful map, having lots of fun flying around. Well worth the wait. I noticed this when flying the Huey and the MI-8 over the sea. The view out the pit on the edges of the pit frame or the instruments looking out seems to blur a lot. It only happens when you approach the shoreline and get pretty close to the shore, out over open water it all seems ok. Maybe its just my setup, perhaps someone else can have a look? Map was simply in the morning with but with a 30knt ground wind. Not great Heli flying conditions but I really wanted to marvel at how great the sea looks when whipped up a bit.
  23. Curious, have you tried in a WW2 plane? I also noticed it looked a little washed out in some areas, in contrast the L-39 mirror is oversaturated. I havent compared to other versions. Theres a Bugs/Problems section up top, might help to start putting things like this in there. https://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=554
  24. Its a wide section of the channel so will take a while to get there, but I flew across in a L-39 from France to Isle of White.
