Have you tried running the dcs updater tool, to update or repair, see here. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2646261&postcount=6 Just place the exe in the dcs root directory

Hi Folks Thank you all very much for your input. I will remove the files of the OB and save them on another storage drive with lots more space and just keep the stable and Nevada going for now.

Hi Guys Sorry I have tried to look and make head or tail of this but after being away for a while and a new build I have in my DCS instal folder on a seperate SSD the following DCS main folder with 1.5 DCS Open Beta folder resides in there also with the same build as the main folder? DCS Open Alpha in the same main folder with DCS 2. All versions are consistent with the same build as currently displayed on the update page http://updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ So my question is regarding the main folder (stable version) and the Open Beta instal folder. Are they both still necessary for any tangible reason (different engines or something?) Can one of them be simply deleted and consigned to the recycle bin or uninstalled to save HD space. DCS folder now at 110gb on a 250gb ssd, with some other games its getting pretty snug in there. I understand from reading that eventual goal is for the 1.5 and 2 will be merged which is great and understand why we have the 2 versions, its just the stable/beta instal I am querying. Thank you in advance.

MFG Crosswind - Review

A quick stop solution till you get some chocks made up for your chair with wheels is to take a thick bath/beach towel, fold it a few times and place it under the chair. Once your weight is on the chair the wheels don't move so the chair keeps position. It's not very elegant but it is functional ;) Just don't pick the missus's favorite towel, that may result in you getting grounded :D -

Yup, this has me intrigued as well? -
The suffix at the end, 'J' I think designated at the time the country the airframe was sold to by Dassault. For instance in SA we got C'Z' ,(Z being SA/Africa suffix) Israel was 'J'. That said all countries upgraded the hardware that was sent over the years to them. Dont have the skinny on that. Heres the last CZ flying today, still does airshows. Black Widow Super chuffed there is a III in the works!!! S

My Saitek Combat rudder pedal's toe brake is dead
Vlerkies replied to SCU's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I managed to fix mine, same toe brake issue, with a good clean of the pot a few months ago. Bit the bullet at the same time and ordered some MFG Crosswinds, which should ship this month. -

Simply the best thing you could have ever done for the cougar and yourself. A work of art with prefect functionality.

:shocking: Ok, I was planning to keep alpha and beta. Havent touched to original instal in ages so figured it was sort of just 'clutter'. I can hang onto it. Damn it it's DCS after all  and I will make a plan if necessary.

Hi My DCS instal is sitting at almost 100gb. I have all 3 versions. Open alpha is half that, with openbeta at 27gb or so. Can I remove the original yet and if so how without affecting the others

New TM HOTAS Warthog not recognized

Ihad an issue last year when I changed my usb hub after it blew, and the hog was not recognised anymore, even when plugged into the machine. Try that bootloader procedure, it sorted me out. -

MFG Crosswind - Review

In Milans site he indicates when stuff will be ready for shipment. Perhaps he is doing limited runs each time. I ordered mine this week, shipping only in April. Worth the wait I reckon. Go here and click order now and it lists the approx shipping date, with shipping time depending on where you are located. http://mfg.simundza.com/products -

Satiek combat pedals, toe brake take apart?
Vlerkies replied to Vlerkies's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
and sorted,,,, sortoff. Seems a good clean did the trick. Slight alignment issue but can fix that with a deadzone. Still jittery on the front end but much smoother through the press. Pretty much the same as the left toe. Only has to last till April  -
Satiek combat pedals, toe brake take apart?
Vlerkies replied to Vlerkies's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi Understand detent and feel as such, just not sure how it applies to the pot lingo. The carbon strip is not full 360, maybe 330 degrees, if that qualifies as a detent, although the movement of the pot is only on the carbon area. Gang/s from what I gather is the connector arrays and additional switches. Looking at the tds doc it clearly looks like 1 which = N The Operational life one: well depends on what you think saitek put in there, so maybe the cheapest being 'blank' probably LOL. Got home late, a bit tired so didnt do anything further today. Cleaned out the pot with IPA at work. Will connect tomorrow and test. Its definitely a holiday in China for a week, so haven't contacted the suppliers yet. I have ordered the Crosswind pedals, but this is my little pet project and will be a bonus to get going and find info if a solution can be found. I am pretty sure, even if the factory wont sell to an individual direct, they will be able to offer up a suitable distributor that will. Best case scenario is to get them to confirm the specs of the pot as we are discussing, that is actual sold to Saitek, so there is no confusion, then we can look for a potential supplier so that in future owners can source replacements. Thrustmaster was always so helpful with this, and even when not the Cougarworld community stepped in. Considering the interest from Saitek, there needs to be a Saitek community driven database of parts for people that spend good money on hardware that is potentially turned to junk status by a 2$ pot. Madness. -

Hi Jon I had about 6 springs made up for me for my hog to trial and error test. The whole lot cost me maybe no more than $10 or R100 zar at the time. Cheap easy, and you get to spec it. There must be engineering companies around near you, family owned businesses even that turn springs daily., Just have a look around. I am 100% certain if you ask, someone here with the same stick and all the springs will take photos of them and take a micrometer to ascertain the gauge of each, so you can use that info to custom make. It really is cheap. Saitek wont even send me pots for my rudders. No more Saitek for me, I vomit on it. Milan from MFG Crosswind accepted my order last night, bye bye Saitek. Had about 6 different pieces of hardware from them, will never buy another one as long as I live if this is their current attitude. -

Satiek combat pedals, toe brake take apart?
Vlerkies replied to Vlerkies's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I think I might have identified the pot, and without Sokol's help it would be impossible. Many thanks Sokol I think it is this F16K series (16 mm diameter) http://www.polyshine.cn/ProductDetail-231.html Still figuring out the numbering but if you look at the config options in the data sheet for this pot; but its a F16k Note1: With F type shaft (Code1 : L=10.5 F=3.5) Note 2: not sure just yet. Note 3: Single gang P type terminal So looking at the coding it should be something like this F16KND0F1CB50K6 Breaking that down F16K - Pot type and diameter N - Number of Gangs D - pin configuration (this is either V or D, from the data sheet it is definitely a P -Type, just the description V = side / D = rear, depending on how you interpret the description?) 0 - Detent option (not sure on this one, but think it is none) F - Shaft type 1 - shaft length and config C- CCW position think its C (not sure on this) B - Resistance taper (not sure at all on this) 50K - Total resistance (think its 50?) 6 - Operational life , probably 6 or 7, or 1 or 2. (so not sure) Data sheet required to pretty much break it down attached. F16K-2015-04-29-04-14-40.rar
