  1. you must be running the 1.5.x beta for the current L-39 module, just in case you are not.
  2. 1 ok, 2 ok, 3 ,,,,,, ok, 4,,,,,,, ugghhhh fine,, hahaha :D I dont think I'm made for this :) I really enjoy these types of videos, that put 'Joe Average' in the cockpit to get a feel for the effort it takes to fly (even as a passenger) these high performance aircraft. The work, effort and practice it takes to endure the forces you are subjected to and still fly, let alone in a combat environment. thx for sharing!
  3. It sounds like an artful balance of just enough climb power and left pedal to keep the heli facing forward, while slipping to the right out of the disturbed air. Will give it a few goes tonight and see. It looks like, in RL at least in the Robbie's the loss of alt during this manouvre is far less than the conventional approach of reduced power and cyclic forward.
  4. An interesting read for the flingwing fans. A new technique allows pilots to fly out of vortex ring state in a powered climb. http://www.aviationtoday.com/rw/personal-corporate/personal-ac/Flying-Through-the-Vortex_85872.html#.VhytAlUrKUl Can read the digital issue here. http://accessintelligence.imirus.com/Mpowered/book/vrw15/i986/p32
  5. Bird Strikes is off. It was a main generator failure at low alt high speed, managed to climb and get it started again just before being forced to ditch. Just got enough power to continue flight and miss the earth :) Poor engine performance on the way to the field, followed by engine surge failure, then some icing light while i was pretty low on short finals. Anyway got down safe and sound. Had the main gen failure again last night. Restarted and landed. Not sure why its happening guess random failure tab is on, need to print out the Chapter 5 in the manual and keep it close by. :joystick::pilotfly: It was all quite exciting and took me by complete surprise. I will be better prepared next time round though!
  6. I get it as well, if I zoom in slightly the instruments become much clearer (not because its closer), the shimmering of the dials goes away. edit: see George has uploaded one, thx. Will try it when I get home.
  7. Was flying along merely today, then all of a sudden engine flamed out, generator warning light etc. Systems were powered by what looked like a ram air turbine (RAT) Managed to restart with a few feet between me and mother earth to spare and got going, but engine was a under-powered. Then had a J.R.T 730 deg C warning on. Managed to limp back and land though. I flicked a switch or did something wrong, or a random failure?
  8. Right on! People that take the time and effort to do this type of stuff for the community deserve all the accolades coming their way. Huge
  9. Thx John.
  10. She plants pretty well, and that undercarriage took a solid knock. On smoother landings at slightly higher speeds I have not encountered the L-39 wanting to lift its nose at all (just flying the default missions with 1.5.x) Hi Honey I'm home, bounce. :D
  11. Ok, the little workaround in post #3 works fine. 1 thing I noticed is the flaps just raise themselves to the flight (full up) position after you exceed around 300kmh from the takeoff position. Not sure how the real jet works, but from the manual
  12. Something I want to try is the warning button on the throttle as a flaps up button, and see if it will override the actual flaps control switch position on the throttle. So flaps control for takeoff (say up) and landing (down position). The center has no function, so would the warning button raise flaps and ignore the position of the flaps switch? Will try later this evening when I get home, if someone doesn't do it first , nudge nudge.
  13. Ok cool, so I am not blind :megalol: All good, loving this jet.
  14. Where are the keybindings for the weapons? Heat/ seeker / switch weapon sides (left or right) etc. I must be blind. ??
  15. Thx John. Short, sweet and to the point. Good job
  16. Yeah thats also gonna be a cracker. Thx for the vid. For some of us time is just not there anymore for all this wonderful good stuff. Real life rightly so takes priority, as much as I grumble about it. Vids like these are really cool and helpful simply because it saves me the time to actually go through the manual for ages learning about a whole lot of things I do not really need (at that point) when all I want to do is fly my new module I just bought. Don't get me wrong, everything is important, but sometimes you just want to get going in a hurry for sh!ts and giggles. I'm quite happy to flick switches without knowing whats going on just to test ride my new shiny jet in the beginning.:D When more time is available of course one will then do the module justice at your own pace by delving into all the intricate stuff that DCS is so good at. Keep the vids coming man, thx. These and other like them really add value to the community!
  17. FPS to burn! DSR'ed from my native res up to 1440 with it all maxed out and havent seen the fps meter drop below the vsynched 60 as yet. Smooth man, real smooth.
  18. Is there a way to clone or transfer controls setup for hardware across from 1.2.x to 1.5.x?
  19. Blue squares up top is the module manager.
  20. Busy downloading, but based on comments all day today re 1.5 I just dropped another $150 on modules I dont have  Eagle Dynamics (DCS) is the future, and it looks bright! :pilotfly:
  21. Wags, mastering the art of the understatement
  22. I got a bunch of the mails as well,,,,, very odd!!!!
  23. Yup. All my DCS stuff is with no assistance ever. My first number of TO attempts left me quite stumped with this defaulted at 100% without me knowing.
