Quick one regarding the underlined bit. Do I need to instal this in a specific location or the same folder as Alpha so that it uses some of the files? Rather big DL for my third world internet (not complaining, just eager )

DCS: Gazelle Murdering F-15C's [Video]
Vlerkies replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
Cool video's, enjoyed watching them. -
Hi I am probably doing something wrong but for the life of me cant seem to figure out what. Autopilot Alt/Hold refuses to work for some reason. (apart from me probably being a dumbass) Speed AP is fine, auto hover also no problem but I just cant get this flingwing to Alt hold. I have checked the manual, watched videos like xxJohnxx's but nojoy. I had it mapped to the warthog throttle alt/patch/alt/dg switch. Then moved it to the keyboard. The SAS is on and active as indicated by the 3 'meters' above the switches. Flicking the switch to speed (vi) works While flicking it to Alt moves the switch into position the SA342 does not hold alt. Speed is above 120kmh. VVI is at 0, so level flight. If I try all of this with the dcs control input thing showing on the screen (rcntrl+entr) is actually says altitude in white text there, imply the hold is in effect. So I'm a bit stumped here, any ideas what I am missing? Thank you

CBU's work just dandy on a A10C, box of matches dropped into a pond with the F5E, hopefully an oversight and a quick fix.

AAR-day mission 1
Vlerkies replied to FENDER's topic in A-10C Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification Campaign
Hi Fender 2 things to ensure, on the climb out after he tells you to turn 245, make sure you get inline with the first waypoint flightpath on the TAD and then stabilise on 245.you can do this before you breach 5000. Also, make sure you input the required data into the CDU as instructed during startup to hit the cvip/cvrp timing correctly Heres a neat video that'll walk you through it. So position yourself on the flight for the waypoint then hold 245, you need to overfly that waypoint to trigger instructions to turn to 300 or something. The limits in the briefing are i think 5 deg either way so you can maneuver a little to stay on track. If you just takeoff, and turn out to 245 not considering the prescribed flightpath you will end up flying into the deep blue sea -
Indeed For interest here is an really nice documentary on Robin Olds, F-4 orientated and worth a watch in full. Regarding the engine smoke from the F-4's interesting commentary at around 22:50 into the video. Reckon they could spot F-4's at 15 miles away as a result of the smoke.

MiG-15/F-86 Campaign Announcement
Vlerkies replied to Apache600's topic in The Museum Relic Campaign
Thanks for the campaign. Had both modules for some time but have not been flying for ages. Purchased this yesterday and looking forward to getting stuck in as time allows. Just one thing, I don't recall actually ever seeing this campaign listed through the module manager via the game. I only discovered it by looking on these forums for some missions. Is it listed in the MM as available dlc content via the game interface, maybe I just overlooked it there? -
Are you plugging the pedals into the pc mobo usb slots or into a usb hub? If a hub, try a mobo slot maybe or a better powered hub. Toe braking. Depends on what you are flying, but generally speaking; you need to assign the toe brake functions in the game 'AXIS' controls interface, not buttons. Also in the axis controls you should be able to adjust the sensitivity of the brakes by fine tuning the curve. (in DCS its Axis Tune tab) Mad Catz bought Saitek some time ago, and recently sold to logitech.

Satiek combat pedals, toe brake take apart?
Vlerkies replied to Vlerkies's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
2 screw drivers and a mallet. It takes some doing, scars the underlying surface but its all good. The covers are crimped on, so they will need some persuasion to come off. They are made from a aluminium alloy and are not averse to a little abuse. Just nudge each corner a bit and they will come off. They will clip on as new when you set them back. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2670232&postcount=5 -
Satiek combat pedals, toe brake take apart?
Vlerkies replied to Vlerkies's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi Deceter Its a simple system as most things are. (hardest part was disassembly) Noise will be created by dirty pots, loose connections or frayed wires. CB faults will be very rare with any hardware. In some case wires that have been secured at build, but are now loose after some use causing a loose connection. If its not the pot in question (good thing) it should be easy to detect and fix. Fixed mine and gave them away, Crosswinds ftw, but my fixed ones are in daily use still by the recipient no probs. -
Tdaffy Maybe try do a repair. This can help, download the latest version of this application in this post. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160053 Once downloaded place the file in your main DCS route folder, then run the app. It gives you options to update/repair/ and in advanced options revert to older versions.

Downloaded it last night on the torrent dl. Got decent speed, took only a 3 hours or so. Grabbed the Tiger as well :) Now to go exploring.

Ok cool. Sry it didnt help. If any of those background apps are DX related just kill them if they are running, actually, kill all of them as a starting point to trouble shoot. As a baseline run only absolute bare essentials. Sometimes these things hook into and interfere with games. Best of luck, and I am jealous of the rift.

Hi I dont have rift so cant check, and this is an absolute long shot but it sounds like you are willing to try anything, and this is quick. Asus mobo, if you have the Asus bundled software like 'sonic suite/studio' running, turn it off and try. The only reason I say this is that it is known to cause graphic glitches in IL2. So just kill it, try, if situation is the same, no harm no foul, takes 2 secs to do, no reboot required.
