  1. I know few principles of jamming (and therefore the difference between noise jamming and "smart" jamming) but ANY measures you do, it does require more power - until you don't turn off the seeker's own radiation and use some tricky way of homing, while beg for the jammer to keep it noisy... Anyway, this ECM vs ECCM thing is cool, but after a point it becomes a pointles counter-counter-counter-counter-counter problem, so if I were a missile designer (sorry for dreaming) I would not put such a risk for the possibility of catching and matching an exact way of jamming, and guiding the missile only by this way... And until I do that, I need those emissions of the seeker to home on the target...
  2. Other thing: About the ECCM capabilities of active missiles: To do such measures it (might) require a lot more power. For a missile, power is a very crucial fact, which also determines its radius. How much does an AIM-120 is equipped with batteries? If not so, then fired from a distance, these ECCM techniques can cost the missile itself.
  3. They were... until something classified technical info on the raptor once came out, and the USA reconsidered the offer.
  4. ??? Is it true? twenty-one - to one? It's a bit cuel... Isn't it supposed to be 2:1? If not, then its a performance which must be make USAF pilots dizzy :)
  5. For the MiG-29 you can only adjust it before takeoff, on the ground. This has a very simple cause: the controls are in the gearbay :D
  6. Imageine Joker's laugh "AHAHHAHA HA HAHAHA HAA OH HA" He Wins: Nice one on the Huey :D
  7. http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/apache-block-iii-program-kicks-off-as-contract-signed-02480/#block-III "The request also includes applicable weapons: 173 FIM-92F Stinger Block I Air-to-Air Missiles, 35 Stinger air-air missile Captive Flight Trainers with live guidance systems but no rocket motors, 1,000 AGM-114L Longbow Hellfire anti-tank missiles that can use the APG-78 and their own radar’s millimeter-wave guidance for “fire and forget” capability, and 66 M299 Hellfire missile launchers." Cheers!
  8. Next will be a georgian F-15I? :D
  9. We sim pilots are 'different'... Imagine any others, like CoD4 players, who investigating in threads, WTF is the number in the M14 SOCOM rifle; or those who play starcraft are wondering, what can be inside of those bars and shops in the fifth campaign map.. :D I can't Really should be serial, or a sort of marking by maintainers. But it's a common habit here in Hungary, that the board number of the aircraft IS written somewhere inside the canopy, maybe just for the case if the pilot/crew forgets which plane is he sitting in :D
  10. Quite good RCS in front:D
  11. The Truth is out there. But BELIEVE me you don't WANNA know :shifty:
  12. I'd like to see something really small thing, but I hope it's no so difficult like those mentioned above :) If ever such a fighter is implemented, please model the idle position of the throttle. Currently in LO, the minimum throttle position is in the "idle" pos in the eastern aircrafts. Cheers!

  14. I'm happy about this thread, because if anytime we get a Ka-50-like (or more) detailed fighter aircraft, these things may be imlemented.
  15. I have 1.1 FC. Doesn't it mean, that if the designated target bounds out the radar's current elevation set, it is automatically followed??? If so, my radar doesn't do that... UPDATE: Question asked from "expert" ; "it should NOT follow" :D
  16. http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=102.20;wap2 Found this in the article: ""SNP" (Soprovazhdenie Na Prokhode) Track-While-Flyby mode ... Track-while-flyby mode allows the simultaneous tracking of up to 10 targets, measuring their angular position, range and rate of closure. The target with the highest rate of closure/range ratio is designated the most dangerous, and automatically marked on the display. The pilot can override the automatic selection if he decides on another target. After switching to track-while-flyby mode it is not clear if the radar continues volume scanning, and it may be that only the (up to 10) tracked targets are followed. Track-while-flyby mode will automatically follow the target marked most dangerous (automatically or by pilot override) in elevation, within the elevation limits of the radar, without pilot intervention." Is it possible to do that in LO? If not, pleeeeeeease ED consider implementing it :) However ther are many useful info on the MiG's radar; a I remember I founf this one in this forum. Not sure. Cheers!
  17. Hi Someone from the Falconguys just reminded me a lack of modeling in every PC flightsim. There is no RCS changing depending on loadout. I don't know, which evil way you get these modifications, but possibly its not so far from this parameter. If its possible to modificate RCS, or make it dependent on something, maybe it worth a conversation...
  18. What the hell is that bulge on the left side of the nose?????
  19. Well, you can bet on it, they're all uniqely "pimped" :) Theree's NO TWO similar MiGs in the world, trust me. These are the originally export versions, not the Warsaw pact types, I think that's why this modification is implemented. We got 28 of them in October 1993, but they have had in service within the Russian Air Force (AFAIK) with a very few hours. (They arrived with the red stars on the wings :) ) So to get clear with this: In this mod, you are trying to model the exact russian 9.12 versions (early) with all of its lack of capabilities?
  20. Whoa. Wait a minute. Our MiGs (9.12b) do at least two live firing a year with S8 and guns, and they always do it with fuel tanks. Proof: http://www.jetfly.hu/rovatok/legter/mh59/zumi_051019/gyak_05.jpg same shooting: http://www.jetfly.hu/rovatok/legter/mh59/zumi_051019/gyak_07.jpg
  21. Hi! Hehe, remember the good times! :D Yes, you remember correctly and he told you M 0.85 with fuel tank. (And the B-20 containers also reducing speed - and making a good sound :) - to that limit. BTW I've heard stories about german fulcrums braking Mach 1 with it.) And the Fulcrum can't pull 6+ Gs even if the tank is empty, it's too weakly attached. One more thing: THIS MOD WILL BE AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!! How the hell can you modify these things??!!!?!?!??! (behind the Force of Yoda)
  22. Sorry, offer canceled - no further products made or will be made.
  23. This is a great aircraft! And the flight he made in Kecskemet airshow this august, was AWESOME!
  24. Hi! One of our members also making 29 sticks for both cougar and X45 (compatible) May contact him if you're interested.
