  1. There are some "Star Trek"shuttle crafts at Area 51...you just need to look hard enough. Seek and ye shall find. :music_whistling:
  2. Give it some time. You will grow to like it. Felt the same when I first upgraded from Win7. Once use to it I like it just fine. Much better than 7. I skipped 8.
  3. Why would you use nose wheel steering when landing? Keep it off until you are ready to taxi.
  4. Ha ha that's just wrong. I challenge you to a Guns Only fight against my P51D.
  5. That would be cool and would add a new dimension to pilot rescue missions. The ability to pick up a pilot from the sea in a life raft would also be cool. Right now bailing over water just means you sink and die. So this is wish list stuff. Maybe one day we will see these features but priorities certainly are more important things for awhile I believe. Like the merge, maps, terrain, THE F18, Animated Carrier, Spitfire, net code, Crossfire and SLI support etc.etc. and tons I missed.
  6. Moores Law: Number of transistors doubling every two years. As the architecture continues to shrink, Is there really ever going to be a point of diminishing return? Who knows what the future holds where tecnology continues to evolve and amaze us. Some wonder how smaller can do more, well think about the fact there are billions of transistors being placed on CPU and GPU die. That number continues to increase. Back in 2000, when Intel started making the Celerons and Pentium 4s at Fab 17 and the architecture was shrinking, they were saying we will get to 5Ghz CPUs. And even talked about reaching 10Ghz. They thought they might make this by stacking processors. But there was this little problem called heat. They hired a bunch of Thermodynanics Engineers but they could not whip the problem. But technology will continue to evolve. Can you imagine where we might be in another 10 or 20 years? Should be amazing. Building on 300mm wafers does help with the price. Most FABs are running 200 and 300mm wafers. To retool to 300mm to get more bang for the buck and drive wafer cost down requires a huge retooling effort. Semicon tools run millions of dollars each. A used implanter can go for 3 or 4 million and that does not include installation and facilitization. Not all FABs can be converted to 300mm due to building size and infrastructure. So you just have to go out and build a new Billion dollar Fab. Or just use one of the many Foundries to run your recipe for you like TSMC or Global. So the price we pay for our little toys is understandable if you really understand what is behind it. Thankfully, we are not still on 2 or 3" or even 5" wafers! Our toys would not be affordable. Oh how off topic could I get....so no I won't be buying the 1080 or anything else NVidia makes.
  7. No just in general...poor choice of words... My weakness is dsl 20 down 5 up. I live in the boonies by choice. But I have no issues in Multiplayer large missions 20+ players.. I suppose I was thinking more about the statements that the problem is the software. Years ago there were games I could not run on the system I had. I just had to wait until I acquired the hardware that could run it. I accepted that and never thought hey the Devs should design the game to run on a spartan system. Sorry I just can't wrap my head around that way of thinking.
  8. Interesting I do not have or never have had these issues on my meager system. So if what you say is true, then why not?
  9. Nice to have. Falls under Wish list stuff though.
  10. I don't think Jesus or Picard has anything to do with it. Ha!
  11. "It's not how fast you go, it's how well you go fast" :juggle:
  12. Static display at the Udvar Hazy Air and Space Museum at Near Dulles.
  13. You are kidding right? Ok I fell into the trap... An unrealistic option "for effect". Personally, I never liked lens flare in a game, much less...in a flight sim. Hardly a game breaker. Turn it off for realism lol

  14. Awesome photos...great photography. Hey "it never rains in SoCal" LOL! Green with envy. With so many Mustangs, some usually offer rides, was that available? (Usually pre-arranged at $800 to $1000 USD).
  15. Sometimes I just give to the pilots I fly with, if they already have it, I look for new pilots on the forum that want but can't afford...I usually ask for a quick confirmation they are honestly in need. Such as new, no job or a student, but with a passion for flight sims (DCS).
  16. No if you bind to another it will take care of that for you. Un-binding just creates another needless step.
  17. LOL! If this were true the you would not be here to read and post this...not to mention these forums would be a barren place and ghostly indeed!
  18. Oh it's interesting enough and a joy to fly. If you like props and WWII Birds, the P51D is a must have. I have almost every module and the P51 gets lots of flight time. Normandy is coming...you have a chance to get her up to speed and be ready. Of course I am biased.
  19. Appeared Wags handled it pretty well in the video. I would be interested to know what his controller settings are and what the devs that built it use, if any. And of course which controllers. I believe Wags uses the TMWH? That would provide a starting point at least instead of trial and error.
  20. That's why I will buy several and gift them. $15 was not a bad price for what has been accomplished. I encourage other like minds to do the same if they can afford it or skip a couple of cheap six packs.
  21. I don't fly SP often but I will pick this up for the MP missions.
  22. AC-130 gunship - I just want one - Multicrew of course
  23. Had no problem with the original price. Now I'll take two and give one to a friend!
  24. Good read. Thanks for sharing the link.
