It sounds like you haven't activated the P-51 module with the activation key provided with your purchase, so it's not letting you enter the cockpit.

Essentially the question is in how much subdivision a unified Missions and Campaigns section needs. Do we need a sub-forum for each flyable? For each product series? For each product generation? Preferably we can find a solution that is well organized for the needs of mission makers and users looking for missions, while at the same time avoiding a bunch of sub-forums for users to sift through.

We agree and we asked for opinions on how to best organize a unified Missions and Campaigns section earlier this year right here on the forum. The difficulty is that we now have a wide number of products and a variety of flyable aircraft, not to mention previous generation products (BS1, FC1 and sooner or later FC2). Furthermore we need to account for multiplayer missions, missions that are based on a specific flyable or that may include multiple flyables. Finally, we need to make sure we can move any existing thread from all of the current Mission and Campaigns sections into the new area. Ideas welcome.

Yeah, we never settled on a "reform" of Missions and Campaigns... Moving Mission Builders' corner to World sounds fine to me, unless we proceed to make a single, unified Missions and Campaigns section, in which case I would think the Corner would have its best place there.

The BS2 upgrade to BS1 should work for World. Also it does appear that we will reform the keys system so that localization is no longer an issue for World integration, but please don't take this as fact until it actually is a fact.
-
Indeed, localizations use different keys, so you will have to use the same localization version for all of your World and module installs for them to be integrated. I don't know if this will change in the future. Also should correct myself from an earlier post and point out that BS2 keys will be accepted into World, not BS1 keys.

In case you were looking for it, we've moved the DCS Wishlist and Sim Research forums inside the DCS World section.

Are you sure the email address in the DCS database is the one your are expecting the email in?

If you have the "Move head with G-forces" option enabled, it should help you get a sense of aircraft momentum. This can be difficult to register when your velocity is constant, but is more helpful when the velocity is changing in any direction. Besides setting the option in the MISC. tab of the Options menu, you can toggle it on/off by pressing LWin+F1 in-game.

Thanks for the purchase and welcome to the forums! Yes, the trim model is still in progress and will of course be corrected.

Small mistakes in startup training mission
EvilBivol-1 replied to Bahger's topic in Bugs and Problems
There should be, take a careful look. Anyway, not a big issue. We only mentioned it, because the covers may be hard to spot against the trimmer wheel and can get in the way of using it. Yes, this is a WIP issue. Some of the systems involved are not yet finalized. -
How to insert Video and Mp3 voice or sound ?
EvilBivol-1 replied to Hereje's topic in User Created Missions General
To use an intro track, you basically rename the track to a .miz, and include the track data in the mission archive. So in effect what you're playing when you open a mission with an intro track is the track, not the original mission. But once the track is complete, the mission continues to run. -
Radiator flap doors are not implement yet. Should be part of the cooling system finalization, which is currently ongoing.

Забавно "режутся": Очень надеюсь, что адреналин догфайтинка на пушках наконец вернулся в наши симуляторы. :)

This also means you can design single player missions with multiple aircraft (even of different types) and provide the player with a variety of scenarios to fly, such as take part in different flights within the same mission.

That was fun to watch!

Another point to remember when battling the AI is sidelsip, which requires constant attention to "the ball" and careful use of the rudder in order to keep under control. Otherwise you are always slipping or skidding, which doesn't help to maintain energy in a fight.

For precise timing I think some kind of lua export data would need to be used. Triggers are checked discreetly at a certain frequency and events that are very short-lived may not be registered quickly enough for exact results.

Currently Russian versions of DCS use a different set of keys than English versions, because they are sold at different price points. I'm not sure about the other language versions. This means that, at this stage, I don't think you will be able to integrate a Russian BS2 and an English A-10C module into DCS World together. Will need to verify with the team.

Amber Light Left of Gunsight Controls
EvilBivol-1 replied to Smokin Hole's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
It's a very simple radio device, I believe actually a modified bomb fuse. It will go off at low altitude from ground reflections. -
Tip: the default F4 view is positioned at the gun camera. :)
-
I personally agree with that completely.
-
No, there is no trim reset in reality.
-
As already pointed out by others, $40 is a reduced price point compared to the original price of A-10C, which was $60. Of course whether $40 is an appropriate price for you personally is only up to you, but it is not an accurate comparison with the A-10C price point as they are not the same at launch time.

This is covered in the manual and in one of the training missions as well (I believe start-up). Real P-51 manuals differ on the recommended elevator trim setting, but the general idea is that it should be trimmed more nose-heavy when the fuselage fuel tank is loaded with more than 25 gallons of fuel. This is because a loaded fuselage tank pulls the CG well aft and the aircraft tends to pitch up much more violently. The recommended settings we adopted (late in beta) was to keep elevator trim neutral normally and to set it to 4-5 degrees nose-heavy when the fuselage tank is filled with more than 25 gallons. Default mission setting is full wing tanks and an empty fuselage tank (68% fuel), so you can takeoff with neutral trim unless the fuel load is altered for the mission. Viper's instructions above are valid as well. Again, elevator trim recommendations vary in real P-51 manuals. No, only reset of all trimmers. We will consider adding individual trim reset commands. You should be fine controlling RPM using keyboard commands. It generally doesn't require very fine control, unlike the throttle and trimmers.
