I'm not sure what you mean, but yes, I will admit that the Mustang may seem like a strange choice. We have made an effort to explain some of the reasons for this project and we understand that it isn't to everyone's taste or liking. Obviously we're not going to force anyone to agree with us or buy the product. However, my post above was merely a reminder that while your thoughts and opinion are welcome as long as they are presented in a reasonable and considerate nature, repeating your displeasure for no reason other than to state it again will eventually be interpreted as trolling. Those of you who have been around long enough will surely remember the backblow ED received when the Ka-50 was selected as a flyable, and then the flamewars when DCS was first announced. In fact, every ED project since Flanker 1 had its share of public criticism. Yet it hasn't stopped the company from producing some of the most interesting, popular, and generally high quality combat flight sims on the market. Personally, I would suggest looking at the Mustang as a new and different project. If you don't feel its for you, thats fine. It may be of interest to others. As we've said, it hasn't stopped us from working on the more "mainstream" projects.

sylkhah, I think it's pretty clear at this point that you are displeased with this announcement and do not support it. There is no reason to continue to repeat yourself and go over the same thing another dozen times, unless there is some new and worthwhile information to share.

Add functionality for NDBs and AFD navigation
EvilBivol-1 replied to LostOblivion's topic in DCS Wishlist
Consider the frequency range of NDBs and then ask yourself what radio in the A-10C can operate on it? -
Hopefully some of the driving reasons behind the DCS P-51D outlined below will help explain why we feel this is an important project for both ED/TFC and the DCS brand. 1. DCS Mustang will feature the same level of model fidelity and dynamics created for previous DCS titles. Combined with full combat capability, we believe it will offer a new and unique warbird experience to the flight sim community. 2. As a powerful, single-engine, propeller-driven combat aircraft, the Mustang will provide entirely new and different challenges and gameplay variations to the DCS player. 3. We are always working to improve and expand the technological base of our simulation software. Having already developed high fidelity helicopter and subsonic jet models, DCS Mustang represents a new milestone in our capabilities and further demonstrates the power and flexibility of our core software engine. 4. We are, after all, aviation enthusiasts. Representing the largest collection of World War 2 era aircraft in Europe, including a fully restored and flying P-51, it’s an honor for ED/TFC to pay tribute to one of the most legendary aircraft in history and the men that flew it into combat.

No, it did not.

Unguided Rocket Training stuck...
EvilBivol-1 replied to Flacracker's topic in Mission and Campaigns
Master Arm on? Does the trigger work in other missions? Finally, it would be helpful if you would post a track of your flight here for us to take a look. To save a track, you can fly the mission from the mission editor and hit the Save Track button on the debriefing screen after you exit the mission. -
Unguided Rocket Training stuck...

Are you playing the latest version of the software, v. 1.1.1.0? -
Russian sub near-miss: Glad everyone's okay, but pretty funny to watch the masts move by apparently in total ignorance of the boat.

Sorry spikenet, I'm really not sure what could possibly cause your F keys to not be recognized in training missions. This is especially puzzling if they work in normal missions. Is it definitely a problem of input recognition? Can you activate anything in the radio menu or is all of it non-responsive?
-
Oh yes, forgot to mention that the triggers include a loop option.
-
Already implemented in internal versions and should be included in the next public release (no promises!). Two trigger actions have been added - RADIO BEACON UNIT and RADIO BEACON ZONE. These allow you to bind an audio file to a unit or a trigger zone and define the modulation setting (AM/FM), frequency, and output power of the signal.

Any way to move the camera around real quick using the mouse?
EvilBivol-1 replied to Flacracker's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I believe what you're looking for is Nate's suggestion of selecting mouse-pan mode with LAlt+C. In addition, you may find the pan speed options useful. See attachment. -
Make sure the correct radio (VHF/AM) is used by pressing the correct keyboard command (IIRC LAlt and Num+). Also, Easy Comms option may need to be off. There is no way to repeat instruction. Recommend you utilize the pause function when you feel like you need a second to think, which is quite normal given the complexity of what you're doing.

Disabling a trigger point during a mission
EvilBivol-1 replied to CoveringFire's topic in User Created Missions General
If I udnerstood you correctly, this should work: Once -> If Unit (Radar station) Dead -> Flag 1 Once -> If Unit (Bomber) in Zone (trigger zone) AND Flag 1 is false -> Explode Unit (Bomber) Edit: same as post above. -
No, but double-clicking on the unit line in the Unit List will toggle the hide/show status of the unit.

Highlighting Guages in Black Shark 2
EvilBivol-1 replied to BigfootMSR's topic in User Created Missions General
It does require some trial and error. The coordinates and highlight measurements are in meters. The zero position of the cockpit is the default pilot's eye point. So to place a highlight on the front dash, you will probably want to have it about 0.7 m forward, 0.5 m down and some amount left/right until you hit the instrument. Another suggestion is to make the highlight a flat 2D square by setting the forward/back axis length to 0. -

You have to use the Highlight Cockpit Point trigger to set the highlight around the desired cockpit coordinate. -
You should be able to achieve any desired relative sound levels by turning down the WORLD and IN-COCKPIT sound sliders, but leaving the HELMET slider all the way up. This way all game sounds can be minimized (or even turned completely off), while leaving the instructor and helmet audible sounds (like RWR, betty) enabled. You can always accelerate time by simply pressing LCTRL+Z a few times.

Of course. Thanks for taking the time.

One aspect of the Eagle Wiki I would like to see cleaned up is the massive collection of training material for A-10C, which is currently split up into two completely separate section- a single Tutorial Collection page and the Training Supplements collection of pages. Both of these sections contain material that is likely to be unique in some cases and redundant in other cases. It would be great if all of the A-10C community training material was presented in a single organized environment.

As far as I know, we have no information about the DCS Wiki project or why it has been removed.

The training system does have any magic autopilot option, so it has to use the A-10's actual autopilot system, which is limited in its engagement envelope. If the aircraft is being manuevered or is generally out of a level flight attitude, the AP will not engage (or will disengage while engaged). In any case, you are free to turn the AP on and off whenever you need to during the training missions. If the instructor stops talking to you and you never hear a "lesson completed" message, it means something has been missed. Try to pay careful attention to the instructions and follow them as closely as possible. If you still have trouble, post a track of your flight, so we can take a look at it. To record a track, you can run the training mission from the Mission Editor. An option to save the track will be availble in the Debriefing screen after you exit the mission. In the Landing training missions, you should be okay to stop in the ramp area around the parked A-10s, but the intention is for you to taxi to the "crew cheif" (soldier).
