okay thanks mate. wasn't sure - I'll go with the auto update.
-
Actually, do I have to download the update direct from DCS or will the DCS W autoupdate? I downloaded the full 1.2.3 last time so I'm not sure. what about the individual modules?
-
Any ideas on when the Huey will officially be released for sale and download?

We've GOT TO have a persian gulf map. Over the last 100 years, how much of this region has seen war?

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List

lol totally agree. Same thing for the passenger jets. -
OR maybe they can figure out how to port DCS over to FSX or Outerra or Prepar3d. There's your world right there :)
-
with these sort of polls its always best to make pollers choose one, not many. That way, you weigh up all the pros/cons of each heli (that you know ofcourse) and make you choose one. Either way, the Longbow wins by a mile.
-
Now THATS what I'm talking about! :)
-
Not exactly...the US didn't have it all their own way - there were russian pilots flying the '21s plus the NVAF actually had aces as well. Either way, that was real life..I'm talking about DCS Vietnam...the game or game mode. Just the ability for us players to create our own missions.
-
how would it be one-sided? don't you think the Mig 19s and 21s were up to dogfighting the F4s? Yeah I missed a bit in my original post because I'm trying to keep it real. Theoretically knowing the amount of work that goes into developing a jet in DCS, I wouldn't expect more than a handful of a/c (similar to say FC3) to start it off. Sure I know its too far into the future, however my point is...they've recognised it and decided to build it including Korea. Its different if they decided to just keep to the modern era.
-
From March Newsletter: "While our products initially started with a focus on modern day jets, this is now expanding to include World War 2, Korea, Vietnam and modern day content" [italics added] woo hoo!! :) now imagine this....jump into DCS World and choose a Vietnam scenario: - US side flies F105 Thunderchiefs (bombing), F4 Phantoms (MIG CAP), F100 Super Sabre (bombing) - South East Asia map ("SEA") - air to air refueling tankers in/out bound - NVA side flies Mig 17s, 19s, 21s - NVA side also has combined arms capability (ie. to manage the numerous AAA and SAM sites) - the US side could also have FAC a/c ie. OV10s, O-1s, etc mmmmmm.....the possibilities are endless

I know I've posted in this thread before but bugger it...here's my wishlist again for what its worth: 1. AH64 Apache (would love the Longbow but for all the reasons stated above, I'd 'settle' for the A model) 2. AH1Z Viper 3. MI-28H Havoc 4. CH-47 (why not eh?)

My understanding is its a question of having the technical blueprints or access to be able to model the current generation of fighter aircraft - I don't think the USAF is going to gladly handover the specs to their current fleet just so we can model it ingame. The older gen jets are probably easier to model as their specs are more freely available. Now I"m pulling all the above out of my backside so someone back me up or tell me I"m wrong. -
can this be loaded on the P51?
-
Finding enemy vehicles in DCSW is extremely difficult when in a fast mover. We do have FAC type setups for A10s - would it be possible to have smoke rockets or something? Yeah I know you can input coordinates, lase the target, etc but it would still be nice to get to the battlefield and to be talked onto the target by a FAC with nicely placed WPs. Hey, its a wishlist forum isn't it? :)

Got this off the wiki for SEAD: "Currently the main United States Air Force (USAF) SEAD aircraft is the F-16 Fighting Falcon, a multirole aircraft configurable for a variety of ground strike missions including SEAD" I certainly didn't know that. -
Mate, I think just: 1. flying it; and 2. surviving in a warzone (full of Migs, SU25s, KA50s, SAMs, AAA, etc) should be more than enough to challenge you. :P
-
ahh I didn't know DCS were building Blackout (Decepticon) :megalol:
-
really? you WANT a design flaw modelled in a sim? what, so you can crash just because its cool? sorry mate I don't get it - and I'm not trying to have a go at you or anything but I don't think have a major design flaw is an important part of simming an aircraft. Why would you want to fly it then, if you know that at any time the rotors could come off and you turn into a stone?
-
because dreams are free dude :pilotfly:
-
Isn't it also AH-1Z = USMC, AH-64 = US Army? :) (thats my $0.02 contribution! lol).
-
lol that was it all along...I confused the ` for the ' ... thanks mate
-
okay maybe thats the trick. I usually try this after I've auto-started the A10C. I'll give it a go with the engines still off.
-
doesn't work for me. I've pressed LALT+` a thousand times but I get no sub menu to change weapon loadouts. I played a MP mission on Friday night and every time I loaded up an A10C, it was empty of weapons. I had to finally change to an AFAC A10C (with less weapons and belly tank for greater loitering) to finally get armed up. Others on the server didn't have that problem.
