Hi guys I've always enjoyed SU-25T SEAD missions, clearing the way for the A10s, etc. Most of the missions I've played have been relatively easy ie. switch to SEAD mode (ETS), find the SAM/Radar site, lock, rifle, kill. :thumbup: NOW...I was flying an MP mission last night...into an area which was supposed to be infested with SAMs but saw nothing come up on the HUD..hmmm (given it was a MP mission, I assumed all the SAMs had been taken down)...so I'm flying along and noticed an explosion behind me off to the right (assumed it was some sort of AAA) and then BLAM = Dead by SA13 Gopher (I think it was). No warning, nothing. So what am I doing wrong? The HUD was on anti radar mode the whole time and nothing came up. Surely for the SAMs to lock me (even momentarily) they would have had to turn their radar on to 'paint' my a/c before locking on and firing but I got zero indication. What am I missing?
  2. It apparently takes ED X no of years to finish one high fidelity a/c so listing 8+ a/c is pointless unfortunately (just to make it clear...I also want all of 'em...just being realistic). If we had to choose say 2 new western a/c for them to make....what would it be? Here's mine: 1. F/A18E Super Hornet Why? All weather, multi role fighter which can do pretty much every role ie. air superiority, CAS, Electronic Warfare and can be carrier operated. Not too many other a/c can do this. This a/c is operated by a number of countries. I understand its being worked on (yay). One role it doesn't do (AFAIK) is SEAD, which is my choice for No.2: 2. F-16 Fighting Falcon Why? Besides all of the above, it also does the SEAD role for the USAF. This a/c is also operated by a number of countries as well. If we're going to do it, then we should do it right. Its a bit silly sending in slow A-10s to do SEAD missions...even more silly for a USAF lead contingent to send an old Russian made SU25T in to do its SEAD missions as well.
  3. yeah fair enough. Surely the Devs can see how much players are longing for a new map, esp one with the EDGE improvements, etc. C'mon ED...throw us some crumbs here! :)

  6. yeah its really crap, because you can't do anything until you clear it ie. it blocks out both MFCDs which is horrible.
  7. I had an issue with autolase my last time out as well - had set everything up as per usual ie. autolase, latch off, 10 sec, GBU-12..was >FL100 but as soon as it dropped, I got the autolase failure. This was on a server. How do you clear the autolase failure again?
  8. Well I know ED are working hard on this but we definitely need the Nevada map, just to get the community back into DCS. The pics/vids that were posted (by Wags I think) looked pretty good. I'm spending most of my time in fast movers anyway so I'm not too fussed about the lack of a collision model for trees, but I can understand re KA50 pilots. What would be great is the ability to have a Kiowa (Bell OH58 ) which has a mast mounted sight so that it could scout ahead, hover so that only its sight is visible, mark the loc of enemy SAMs/AAA/etc and pass these coordinates on to the waiting KA50s (or even A10s if that data link is possible). That would definitely fill the gap if you know what I mean.
  9. lol you and me both. Bring on Nevada!! :) Just out of interest - is there a way for modders in the community to make maps or are there tools that are required from ED first (eg. EDGE or whatever it is)?
  10. Well DCS is primarily modern based so they should atleast stick to that rather than rambling all over the place with P51s and whatever. I'm loving the A10C but when has the A10C operated over Georgia? We've seen war in the middle east/Afghanistan involving the US, etc since 2003 - thats almost 11 years. THAT is where ED needs to focus their efforts when it comes to mapmaking.
  11. hows about getting rid of Las Vegas and changing the landscape to resemble Iraq or Afghanistan? maybe that might save on dev time.
  12. Got it again last night and couldn't do anything on the main screen so had to CTRL-ALT-DEL and then jump back in. *sigh* its a pain but I still love DCS so I'll ignore for now. Hopefully they'll fix it.
  13. yep got that, thanks - still though, I find the SU25 is just your basic modern day IL2 whilst the SU25T is more versatile with the Vikhrs, SEAD capability, etc.
  14. Yeah I know but its very annoying, esp when ingame and I've brought up the briefing screen to get some important info (only to realise I can't see the mouse cursor)
  15. I haven't had the chance to read everything here, however can someone please confirm if the SU-25T is getting a 6DOF cockpit?
  16. true but TBH I've never used the 2nd stage of the trigger. I have the X52 (not pro) and use the 1st stage to fire the cannon whilst I use the #2 button to drop all other ordnance = no need for the 2nd stage. I find the X52 doesn't have enough buttons though to correctly map everything for the A10C.
  17. lol worth it mate. If you're intending to purchase a HOTAS joystick, wait for the Saitek X55 - its pretty much modelled on the A10C stick and throttle. :thumbup:
  18. I've had this problem from the beginning and its annoying. it only seems to occur on the main login screen and/or when I'm reading the briefing screen. very annoying.
  19. Okay, try this: - DCS A10C - Track IR - Joystick - Throttles - rudder pedals Jump online, fly through fighter-infested airspace, dodge AAA and SAMs, place a Maverick squarely on the target....get back to your airbase in one piece. Thats bliss right there.
  20. ah ok thanks. I purchased the 2nd yesterday off steam, went to DCS to add my key and lo and behold...there was one there!!! Well its only $30 so probably not worth the trouble.
  21. Yay...just realised I purchased FC3 twice!! doh!!! well ED...hopefully this gets used in the right place.
  22. ah ok - is that in the options/controls area somewhere? (sorry, am at work atm - will look at this when I get home). I tried looking for this in the axis mapping area of controls but couldn't find it.
  23. I must be doing something wrong - I have CH Pro pedals, and every time I map the left and right wheel brakes, when I spawn in my brakes are on by default. So to move, I have to actually hold both of them down!! its like its reversed or something, and I can't figure out where in the mappings to normalise it. Any suggestions?
