  1. Hi Headspace, a member of our wing is having some trouble with TARS. The only radio that shows up in teamspeak having a frequency assigned is the UHF radio, forward and aft both show 0.000. He said that out of the blue it fixed itself temporarily the other day, but he's unsure why the other two radios aren't working. Verified that the radios are on and apu gen power is on, which was the first thing that came to mind. He's installed the newest version of TS as well as the previous version 02 I think that is currently supported with no change. What's strange is he has partial function with UHF.
  2. ah hah, i know what's happening now. I have the sim installed on my machine at work, and its graphic card is weak. I bet the settings were preset to low after install which would explain why the mission is getting saved as low. Thanks Speed.
  3. my chinahat is sticky, so i know what you mean. sometimes i have to pull it back into position. I wish the switches were a little crisper and better made.
  4. That's Tacview. Its a payfor addon that allows you to analyze your flight afterwards. Pretty cool kit if you are into that. You can essentially see everything happening in the world.
  5. Speed thanks much for this!
  6. So now to get back to the topic after all the commotion, we're recruiting. And for those guys who said they were interested in the KA-50, please put an App in and let us know you aren't interested in the Hog. One of our Ka-50 guys will get you the appropriate documentation and get you going!!
  7. To add to spiderpigs information, yesterday I saw the missing scenery in the A-10. At the beginning of the session, however, the scenery was there. At some point the scenery (buildings and trees) disappeared.
  8. Thank you.
  9. Snoopy, Will you please post Hawgsmoke v8. Thanks
  10. Nate, you are the man worked perfectly!
  11. Hi all, I have a question about converting a track to a MIZ file. Is there a way to remove the track information from the mission? The track file is rather large and I'm guessing most of that is bloat from the information saved as the track on top of the mission file. Is there a way to clean this out and bring the newly created miz file back down to an acceptable size?
  12. As said above. The learning curve is high, and mastery of the jets avionics and systems will take a lot of time and effort, but is quite rewarding. When AFAC or JTAC calls out a target's location, and you go heads down in the sim, punch in all the right numbers in all the right places, set your entrance and exit points, spot the targets, slave the appropriate sensors, select the requested munition, and go in hot and smoke the target in quick succession without thinking about it, you feel like you've conquered the sim. But you haven't yet.. :) Get it if you like just flying around, that's easy. Get it if you like blowing some stuff up that doesn't shoot back at you that bad Get it if you like highly technical avionics and a true simulation of what our Hawg pilots do every day in real life. I say get it. Your framerates may not be the greatest on the laptop, but it might just hook you in and make you build a new computer :P Joystick such as an X52 (at minimum) and TrackIR are a must IMHO. Some do with less, some do with a hell of a lot more. It depends on your desire for immersion and your wallet.
  13. Don't forget it, necessarily, just be very careful and use ground masking to make sure you get in range. IP to Target Area Green Dashed Line - Area where terrain masking was minimal. NOE flying required along with some masking from buildings at the AO Red X - approximate location of weapons free on SA-11 battery Tacview Video Capture of engagement. http://www.youtube.com/embed/rCkU-09zE-Q Target Area TacView video capture - AMCI file will be uploaded later. Screenshots Smasher in the weeds inbound to target masked by terrain. Smasher weapons free Smoke trail from the missle that almost got Smasher. Maybe the sim dudded it after it went through the hill, as it should have. It sure looks like it missed your tail by about 2 feet. Mav inbound to SA-11 site Buk TAR just kaboomed and Smasher's is about to kill the Buk
  14. the fact that i can fly on my work computer with a mouse is kind of cool, but i will NEVER NEVER EVER play this at home. Its not a game, its not a sim, and i see gamers not interested enough, and simmers not challenged enough for anyone to pay for DLC. MS Fail IMHO
  15. I had great luck with my X52. I recently upgraded to a Warthog, but the X52 worked fine. It was an original X52. YMMV
  16. You are talking about the Douglas A-1 skyraider. Awesome bird. The Skyraider is actually the A-10's long lost daddy as the A-10 currently fills the role the skyraider was implemented to in Vietnam. It flew low and slow and slung lead from 4 20mm cannons and also hauled a lot of ordnance.
  17. I've had this issue at Mozdok twice while attempting takeoff from 09. For grins i took off from 27 and did not have the problem.
  18. Same, here, covers are great!
  19. The pit is just about done. Now its time for dis-assembly, stain, and paint to match the office decor. I work from home as much as I work from the office, so my home office must be functional. I've created a mobile pit that can be put away in the closet when I'm not flying, and quickly be setup again. I built a pedestal for the warthog and mounted a 21.5" touch screen monitor to it. I had to get a little MacGyver on it with regards to the monitor mount. I wanted it as close to the desk as possible, and ended up using a piece of entryway trim for a door. It turned out perfect because the trim has ridges in it that add to the strength of the mount. I heated it up with a heat gun and bent to the proper angle, then drill pressed all the holes in it for mounting. Once I get the wood floors in my office and i put some pads on the bottom of the pedestal, this thing will be a breeze to use and move around. Its probably about 40lbs including hotas and monitor. The 4x4's and wood I used are heavy. Hope you enjoy, now I have to get used to touching the cockpit! I'm using Cap Loz's helios profile and have made some tweaks to personalize it. Great job Loz, I really like it. Thanks

  20. Done, don't need em anymore. Thanks!
  21. I'm down for paying for a good product. Some people put an amazing amount of effort into their hobbies. Nothing wrong with trying to recoop some of that cost. There are untold numbers of companies that started out from someone's hobby. Give the guy a break. If you don't want to pay for it, don't buy it. Pretty easy concept. I don't understand the bashing that goes on from someone who's thinking outside the box and putting legitimate effort. For people who buy $500 joysticks, $2k+ computers, with video cards costing in excessive of $500, rudder pedals, full on pits, a few bucks for a payware mod is nothing. As far as copyright goes, it definitely must be 100% original work in order to market and sell. So that is definitely something to contend with. Good luck Diveplane. I for one will definitely preview your product and if its worth will have no qualms buying it.
  22. Bump for now an Ebay auction. Thanks for looking http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160749740238#ht_500wt_1413

  24. Price Dropped. $65 plus shipping
  25. spn, i got 560 ti's. The dual 275's worked fine for DCS but I upgraded my machine recently. I work with graphic and process intensive applications for my job and I upgrade my computer every year or two.
