  1. Hi markturner1960, Go to the real simulator website and download their dev tool, it’s an uncomplicated tool and you should be able to fine tune your cougar throttle as it interfaces with their usb adaptor and not the firmware on the cougar throttle. You should be able to tune as required. https://realsimulator.com/downloads/ Just as a side note if you end up picking up other RS products then this software will control all their equipment:)
  2. Should proberbly just ditch the whole lighting rework for the time being and work on the maps and modules...
  3. Thanks Sharpe, i guess the C&I panel in backup mode locks out the ICP panel from normal use and you would have to revert to the backup radio, so this makes perfect sense. Thanks for pointing that one out, "wood for the trees and all that"
  4. Hey Sharpe just and FYI This is the C&I panel and is linked to IFF only so this will not control the radios:thumbup:
  5. Underneath the volume knobs for Com1 and Com2 you have two rotator switches set either of these to (GD) for either com1 or com2 and confirm by checking the DED to see guard underneath the listed freqs for com1 or com2. As mentioned the guard freq can only be changed in the editor. See picture highlight in yellow
  6. Actually if it wasn’t a bother I’d love to know what settings you are using for the base unit, I’d be interested in what force you have dialled in for pitch vs roll and if you are running any percentage offset’s for the NASA options.
  7. I’d like to use the warthog TDC slew to use a mouse cursor in VR, so the other way round lol. Either way don’t know why the options are there and don’t seem to work.
  8. i know the theatres to well these days..
  9. I use combatflite for weather and waypoint planning. More intuitive in my opinion.
  10. Awesome Smudge!
  11. Just a thought did you uncage the seeker head while in boresight?
  12. :thumbup:Very cool! cheers
  13. looks to me like you are right on the vertical scan limit, anything more than 60` and you are not going to lock anything up.
  14. Once you have purchased the module you should be able to find it in the module manager at the top of the screen next to the settings icon. The icon you are looking looks like box with squares in it. Click this icon and you should get a pop up screen alerting you to the new content available prompting you to install. Alternatively in that menu across the top click on the modules tab and select from that menu, anything you don't own will be greyed out. Hope this helps
  15. Not true, this is available on the stable version as well. Check the product page any modules that require the beta will (should) say this in the description.
  16. The F16 that is on the stable release (assuming this is your version) currently has one skin only, you can download more user created skins but for now we will have to wait for the latest beta version to made available for the stable release.
  17. The DMS switch on the joystick will control the sensor of interest by flicking down (aft). DMS TMS CMS Should all be mapped to your joystick, their functions can be looked up in the f16 manual.
  18. What version of DCS are you running?
  19. Yes after getting a response from BIGNEWY explaining how things work, I guess you missed that bit. :wallbash:Nope.
  20. This also highlights why the beta forum should be a completely separate entity to the main forums....
  21. Yet another thread proving that the beta shouldn’t be so easily accessible, the headache of sifting through threads like this cluttering up the forums must make EDs job a nightmare when trying to sort out people reporting issues versus disgruntled and confused customers.
  22. A The reason our squad decided to run a stable version of our dedicated server as well as the beta is because we understand that the beta is not really or should be used as a version of the sim considered to be stable. While I accept the fact that we are helping ED with the testing on the beta, I also have the opinion that it shouldn’t be available to download from the main webpage right next to a stable release version. Rather the beta should be available through a dedicated area of the forum you can only gain access to after accepting the consequences of using it and how to correctly report bugs and crashes. lots of disgruntled people start talking about bad performance and how it’s ruined their experience but fail to remember the uses of beta and what you are really accepting when installing it. To stop threads like this from getting out of control ED need to have better control over managing the open beta and the flow of useful bug reporting over moaning and disgruntled punters airing their views. Might be time to start moving the beta over to a closed version with a special forum set away from the main area. This derailed thread and others is proof that confusion is real across the versions and I think it needs to change for the better.
  23. This is why the beta should be taken off the main website and linked only in the forum, two many people are downloading it and using it to get the shiny stuff early not understanding this is for testing only. Your frustrations would be greatly eased if you were using the stable version.
  24. I have noticed this myself and I wonder if it actually has an effect on the flight model?
  25. Thanks for the reply BIGNEWY, I Just wanted to understand how it all worked. Cheers!
