Su-25T problems in campaigns
Gazehound replied to Nate Dogg's topic in User Created Missions General
Well, should be ok after 1.11 - you will be able to select your own PL in campaigns. -
How about our new hyperlobby players?
Gazehound replied to Battle_Rattle's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
There could be more vets than students depending on the time you are flying at :icon_wink, plus this is on every week, or is planned to be. -
People who have labels on.... You turn them off for night missions right? Try it without - why not? Turn them off for a week if you have never done so. Try it - if you dont like it put them back on. Nothing to lose. People who dont have labels on will generally have experienced both environments, and generally they don't go back. Dodging a missile with labels on, or searching for ground targets, or looking for a bandit that you lost in the beam....it dosent work right. But anyway, the question originally was 'labels off on public servers...why?' not 'I use/dont use labels so i r better', and the answer is that the people who spend time & money operating the servers want it that way. Thats how they and their mates play. Otherwise, they would be on.

The breifing and map 'should' give you all the info you need about targets and waypoints, remember to check them out before hitting fly. Online flight is great if communications are good. If the flanker pilots have different WP3 to yours there should be at least a shared bullseye WP to use to give a bearing and location of the ground threat, and also of course to communicate your position so they may help you out from air threats. It is hard typing and flying sometimes though! -
Brilliant! The music suited the mood of the flight perfectly, and its nice to have a change from the obligatory cheesy rock anthem :D

I think most people when they have had labels off for a bit they hate labels, as it looks odd and spoils their immersion. Also servers are attached to squadrons, which almost always play without labels. You are right about it being better in 1.1 than 1.02, but TBH I think no-labels is more realistic - you can still see aircraft from about 30km clear, and ground units are much easier to spot now.

SU25T: Engine went off during upside down flight
Gazehound replied to BlackWidow's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
You pull negative g's when trying to flying level upside down (plus the -1 from the earth!), you can see this in a fighter better as you can get red vision very quickly. -
Multiplayer Scoring Text Problem

Glad it worked. Mine changed automatically, so yours will have too. I think its sometimes when you crash while online but im not sure as its only occured that once. -
regarding the T-Frog..
Gazehound replied to S77th-konkussion's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Sounds like a JS calibration problem. Maybe slightly out of centre. But also... You need 'flat curves' to fly the afm's. 1. Go to options - input 2. Select your JS, and select axes. 3. Slide the sliders for curve to zero, so you have straight lines with a bit of DZ in the middle. It make a WORLD of differrence (make sure you put it back to 50% before you get back into a fighter, or you will have one hell of a twitchy jet!) Have fun! Also, take off with full flaps down. The frogs are still harder to fly (especially when you dive&turn or climb hard) but this makes them more ergonomic. -
Multiplayer Scoring Text Problem

It is your config.lua file I think. You should be able to fix it with notepad. In lockOn\config\network. open it with notepad and check it says this somewhere. If not edit it (but save the existing file somewhere, or under a different name). chat { height = 55; log = true; delay = 10000; -
P Note that it is possible to have radar on in all these modes. Also, if you start to lose heat lock with eos, your radar will come on to compensate, which will give the game away.

Ah thanks, that is what I meant above.

UB-32 or B-8CM rocket launchers are close. I dont know why there isnt an option to add a jammer to both wings, it is perhaps a bug. Im fairly certain that the 25 and 25t have internal ecm, but they are not as powerful as exetrnals.

questions about the difficulty in v1.1 campaigns
Gazehound replied to ser82's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
1: Declassify the campiagn (PW=Eagle) and reclassify while your options are set to ace. Save it and then play it. 2: Declassify, add a new goal, select your flight, and select 'protect'. Thus you must survive to pass the mission. Obviously 1&2 can be done together, no need to declassify twice. 3. Ill check what you DO have... [edit] S24 unguided large rockets? Well, try and use the terrain to your advantage. Have a good hard look at the map so you dont go around that corner in the valley and get annihilated like I do every time I play that mission :D. Better to come down over the western ridge and see all units at once. Stay high out of aaa reach perhaps while you kill sams. s24s make a big hole so you need not be 100% accurate. -
Only on 169th server ;)

True, and in fact ED have TAKEN stuff out of the options menu such as mouse view, and aspect ratio. Which is odd.

HELP with EWR, Ground Control Inteception etc.
Gazehound replied to Bucic's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Radio assist does not do that, it just tells you things like 'missile 10'oclock high' etc. Only AWACS willl talk to you, in fact it will hardly shut up; EWR will not talk. -
Sukhoi plan further Su-27 development.
Gazehound replied to Cobra360's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
The reason some things look the same is due to convergent design paths. Having the same design goals will lead to a similar design often without any 'copying'. If you design a modern fighter with a low RCS, it will likely end up a lot like the F-22. A similar thing occured with the AIM-54 nad R-30(?) missiles. They look the same because they both serve the same function. EDIT: R-33 not 30 -
You wont get much warning if the AMRAAM was fired in TWS mode, or you were banked - the RWR does not work perfectly over 30deg. ECM also interferes with launch wanings) Also, is it possible that a bandit saw you WVR and fired point blank? The F means that your radar was having to come on and track the freindly. Do not knowingly lock up freindlies in eos or radar as they cannot properly sense other threats if your radar comes on to compensate. Also they may lose a lot of altitude/energy trying to find whats locking them up.
-
For IFF look at the left of the HUD, if you see an F (with non-russian hud on) its friendly. This will not show if you do not have the radar on or the target is jamming outside burnthrough, or like you say if the radar has no strong signal and EOS is dominant (like when a target beams and you start to lose lock).

http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=10016 Sounds like real issues. But we will see when its released :D

Looks like normal LO pitch ladder to me. Theres some more stuff that isnt on LO HUD though, but then this is a different model plane. Im not saying that the LO HUD is 100% accurate though - ED never claims that.

They are fixing network code in 1.11 ;)
