Do you guys recommend the Warthog throttle alone?
PiedDroit replied to JAG's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
From what I know the thottle is the unit that had the most problems. So make sure you can get a refund if you have any problem with it. -
Can you point at a specific time in the video? I watched the video and couldn't see it - I always thought the Mirage's wing were very rigid and would be very interested to see actual wing flex on it

You must wait the F/A-18C for that, the RDI radar does not have the same capabilities at all. So, even if it's modeled with the same level of realism, you'll still get a totally different experience.

All of them have canards ;)

[NO, VERY BAD IDEA] Model visibility - please add Extra large option
PiedDroit replied to grunf's topic in DCS Core Wish List
3 SU-33 at 5, 10 and 20nm It looks a bit better than grunf's screenshot, but you can miss it easily if you don't know where to look. Pause the mission immediately after start so you can take your time finding the dots ;) Test Visi.miz -
Oh it's been in my wishlist for a while, didn't buy it yet, will do for sure, my game backlog is quite big  (Currently replaying SS1 with the enhanced controls fom GOG :music_whistling:)

Hello, I didn't read all pages sorry if this was already posted :music_whistling: A very simple feature that could be added to the list: From this example: I'm editing a MiG-21's loadout, I select "Fighter Sweep" to see what's available, and ... my aircraft is now a Bf-190K4 :hmm: This is because the role I selected is not available for the MiG-21. So, making red, or blocking the roles not available for a given aircraft would be a neat little feature ;)
-
I personally see this as a roleplay option: you're bad at spotting aircraft IRL and want to feel like an ace pilot with falcon eyes? Now you can! Whooo hooo! Very happy so far with this  I understand some people are naturally gifted, RL elite pilots but the vast majority of us aren't (see poll results), so, kudos to ED for taking this into account. It's also a huge plus for VR users, the resolution of it is not terribly exciting right now (but the rest is, I can assure you, I tested DK2 on DCS) and this will help VR players to enjoy their experience more ;)

[CLOSED]I found bug in mig-29 cockpt texture at night.

Track IR (V5) center problem.... and ssue
PiedDroit replied to sunski34's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs
well, there are two fixes and they have both been discussed a few posts above: - Center the view to your liking and press RAlt+Num0 - OR rename <saved games>/DCS.openbeta/Config/View/SnapViews.lua The snapview file will look like this, default view is the last one: SnapViews["A-10C"] = { [1] = {-- player slot 1 [1] = {--LWin + Num0 : Snap View 0 viewAngle = 65.000000,--FOV hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = -26.000000, x_trans = 0.000000, y_trans = 0.000000, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [2] = {--LWin + Num1 : Snap View 1 viewAngle = 49.626770,--FOV hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = -90.631294, x_trans = 0.180499, y_trans = -0.137064, z_trans = -0.250000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [3] = {--LWin + Num2 : Snap View 2 viewAngle = 30.395041,--FOV hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = -94.329208, x_trans = 0.372718, y_trans = -0.054055, z_trans = 0.250000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [4] = {--LWin + Num3 : Snap View 3 viewAngle = 55.238567,--FOV hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = -90.631294, x_trans = 0.158523, y_trans = -0.137064, z_trans = 0.250000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [5] = {--LWin + Num4 : Snap View 4 viewAngle = 35.000000,--FOV hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = -10.651850, x_trans = 0.327622, y_trans = -0.278207, z_trans = -0.244799, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [6] = {--LWin + Num5 : Snap View 5 viewAngle = 114.379997,--FOV hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = -5.929854, x_trans = 0.301389, y_trans = -0.038479, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [7] = {--LWin + Num6 : Snap View 6 viewAngle = 35.000000,--FOV hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = -10.651850, x_trans = 0.327622, y_trans = -0.278207, z_trans = 0.244799, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [8] = {--LWin + Num7 : Snap View 7 viewAngle = 68.628296,--FOV hAngle = 68.292320, vAngle = -11.477349, x_trans = 0.000000, y_trans = 0.000000, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [9] = {--LWin + Num8 : Snap View 8 viewAngle = 68.628296,--FOV hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = 30.227919, x_trans = 0.000000, y_trans = 0.000000, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [10] = {--LWin + Num9 : Snap View 9 viewAngle = 68.628296,--FOV hAngle = -67.172974, vAngle = -11.477349, x_trans = 0.000000, y_trans = 0.000000, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [11] = {--look at left mirror viewAngle = 70.000000,--FOV hAngle = 20.000000, vAngle = 8.000000, x_trans = 0.360000, y_trans = -0.041337, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [12] = {--look at right mirror viewAngle = 70.000000,--FOV hAngle = -20.000000, vAngle = 8.000000, x_trans = 0.360000, y_trans = -0.041337, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, [13] = {--default view viewAngle = 113.842400,--FOV hAngle = 0.000000, vAngle = -5.929854, x_trans = 0.259739, y_trans = -0.035757, z_trans = 0.000000, rollAngle = 0.000000, }, }, They even put the keyboard shortcuts to access each view, handy :D -
Track IR (V5) center problem.... and ssue
PiedDroit replied to sunski34's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs
It looks like the OP wants to set snap views and accidentally set his default view. the correct procedure is somewhere in this forum, search "snapview". The correct procedure involves first calling the old snapview with LWin+NumX then save the new one with RAlt+num0 IIRC. Hitting RAlt+num0 without previous selection would save the default view I think -
MP and SP mission's should be same thing
PiedDroit replied to Haukka81's topic in DCS Core Wish List
If you want the ability to replace an AI flight, you may want to choose at mission start since some missions will adapt to the number of active clients. This way you could replace only several client flights with AI, not all of them. I think you can replace a fixed number of AI flights with AI, client-able slots with current engine. I didn't test it recently but I'm pretty sure I saw missions like that: consider an AI flight, duplicate it as client then create a trigger that will remove this AI flight if the client flight becomes active. -
Jettisoned Missiles Shouldn't Tumble, Right?
PiedDroit replied to Frisco1522's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I guess they don't have enough speed to be stabilized and they don't have controls either. -
MiG-29 rather than MiG-21 (or twice the number of MiG-21), the RU side won't stand a chance otherwise ;)
-
D and N variants have it, not C. The D, because ground attack specialized variant, and the N, for "sneaky" delivery, if you see what I mean ;)
-
Please explain? I'm not saying this is how things are, I'm just saying what I thought the first time. Yeah, MiG-29 fills the bill too. But I flew the MiG-21 a lot more, so that's what came first to my mind. Except maybe for datalink? not sure about that. Haha we need a similar video against a FW-190 now
-
Haha not bad. If the engine had a thrust reverse the joke would have been ever better. I'm French but no offence taken (I can differentiate when someone is trying to be mean or not ;))
-
Interesting discussion for sure. Actually I never thought about pitting the MiG against the Mirage. First thing I thought was the Mirage would be flown pretty much like the MiG as they similar in terms of capabilities, in the broad sense, i. e. single engine, short supply of missiles, fox 1 and fox 2, no datalink, limited A-G.

Thrustmaster warthog throttle slider problem.
PiedDroit replied to Kenta's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Since I got many problem with LED brightness I just don't touch that anymore... I had my throttle disconnecting once per flight, sometimes more, this completely disappeared since I removed the LED brightness setting in my TARGET profile, go figure... -
Well, I don't understand the "Semi-Pro" reference, but OK, I get the idea (note to self: google DCS voices battlefield2) ;)
-
Well that was intense :D "Shoot! But shoot! Why don't you shoot?" "Noo you'll overshoot! Cut the throttle damn! Arrgh I told you!" (etc) P.S.: What are those voice? Is that a mod?
-
Lol now I feel I'm on a sacred mission, to protect innocent keyboards against unjustified and brutal persecution.
-
Dude are you the smartest guy in town? Obviously any TrackIR user will bind at least re-center. BUT - The trick is that some function you don't use - and don't reassign because you don't use them - are bound to F7, etc, by default. And the second tricky thing is that your F7 key will *sometime* work, because if you bash it fast/brutally enough (yep, did that), the tracKIR software won't trap all F7 key presses, making you think your keyboard is working erratically.
