I fixed some slang terms in your translation ;) *: better translation would be "get under heavy fire" **: there's a typo in the french text, should be "pas" instead of "par"

Yep, the greater separation won't affect the size of what you see (you need a zoom for that) but will affect how you perceive the object size around you (on the second picture your brain will assume the cockpit is very small because the left eye is tucked on the left window and the right eye is tucked on the right window. When I tried extreme scaling value in FSX I had the feeling to be in a toy aircraft cockpit I was wearing like a helmet.

Well, it does, I can confirm first hand. I think you are confusing IPD in the rift (optics) and IPD in-game (rendering, the one I'm talking about) Try creating a copy of Stereo.lua in your Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\MonitorSetup\, rename the config "Stereo2". The DCS graphic engine can use this value, here are the screenshots (non-open beta, values 0.02 and 0.16): In the open-beta I can't get a view like this so I can't tell if it works (last screenshot).
-
I tried it (in non-beta), without Oculus rift, and the eye_shift has the expected effect (the two images are shifted as per eye_shift value). Too bad I can't test it with a DK2 myself. I tried 0.02 and 0.16. However in the open beta it didn't work right away, the file reverted itself to default values, I'll try with a file in Saved Games instead. If you have a Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\MonitorSetup\Stereo.lua it should override the one in your game folder. EDIT: the file in Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\MonitorSetup\ seems to work as the configuration is not overwritten (I created a second configuration named Stereo2 to make sure I'm using the other file), however I'm unable to see the effect as the two images are squeezed on my display, I can't tell if it works or not, like in the non-beta. Edit2: posted a couple of screenshots here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2522715&postcount=4466 I hope this will get easier to configure in the future :music_whistling:

Let's see if people with a DK2 at hand will see a difference before calling it BS ;) EDIT: I tested various IPD setting (called scaling also) myself with DK2 (friend) but not in DCS (it was FSX or maybe P3D) and saw the difference, you really feel the cockpit is smaller with high in-game IPD. Here are my source for figuring out DCS's settings, but obviously I can't test because I don't have a DK2 with me: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1987827&postcount=1390: https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/2fmpmk/dcs_dk2_and_amd_card_a_workaround/: https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/2c21gj/dcs_is_freaking_amazing_in_dk2_go_try_it_now/:

I don't have a top 5 sorted but to me Freddy Mercury is #1

Hello, I tested the DK2 at a friends place and didn't have the opportunity to fiddle with this setting. The default setting in DCS is -0.06/0.06 for each eye, I don't know the unit. However I read on the internet that some people were happier with values around 0.03 to 0.035, which makes me think the value unit is meters. You should try -0.03255/0.03255 (which is 65.1mm/2 for each eye) and see if you notice a difference in scaling.
-
Try this: This won't increase the size itself but might help if you feel like you're flying a toy

Check here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=120893 http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/bonus_rules/ It looks like you get bonus only when you buy full price modules. Also bonus expires with time and bonuses cannot be used to pay for products marked as “NEW”. On a side note, I have a 22$ that I wanted to use to get the L-39 but it doesn't look like I can now (NEW? Beta?)...

Welcome  @Carabassa and rjetster1: I think the value for the IPD is the eye_shift parameter in Stereo.lua (one for each eye). You should try different (smaller) values to see if it has an impact on scaling. EDIT: in \DCS World OpenBeta\Config\MonitorSetup
-
It's related to IPD. If your own IPD is smaller than the one in game (i.e. distance between the viewports), then your brain will interpret your head (or at least the distance between eyes) as being bigger than it actually is and the cockpit will feel smaller. When I tried the OR on another sim where the IPD was dynamically configurable in game, I had fun with max IPD value, I felt like my head was crammed into a toy :D

Nice pic, but I seriously doubt it's SoH,(I'd be glad to wrong though) What are those buildings in the background ? EDIT: Ok, after some research those buildings look like the ones on Dubai airport, that's cool

You can already define the number of missiles available, at mission creation. Limiting per country would not make sense and would bring frustration rather than satisfaction.
-
I think you should get use to it pretty quickly, it's just as the A-10C's HUD, it seem very cluttered but after a while it gets easier to read. Also this is a static image, when everything moves is easier to distinguish what's related to the target and what's not. Yep, on the video it's pretty obvious, radar lock = snake + piper, radar unlock = snake + bars. At first sight the bars don't seem as useful as the funnel (the funnel is continuous), I'm quite eager to test that by myself Edit: I was refering to this video:

FYI http://forum.teamspeak.com/showthread.php/120755 I hope Aries will switch to HKEY_LOCAL_USER (as HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE forces to start as admin) soon...
-
This should be doable without performance hit, we already have engine smoke so why not cannon smoke
-
If you look closely on the "snake", there are bars that correspond to the target wingspan you set, it actually has the same functionnality as the "funnel".

Check this page: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/personal/backer/ If there's nothing there, you might consider creating a support ticket. Edit: I tried to find when did the switch to ED occurred but I couldn't find the email, it's too old. To activate any module, even those you don't have to pay for (because backer), you need to create an account on DCS website. Maybe that doesn't apply to SU-25T and TF-51D but that's another story. At some point my DCS account was linked to the WWII backed project and I could receive my backer keys there (that's the page I linked above, if you don't have a DCS account you won't be able to see it). They should still have a list of the DCS:WWII backers, therefore you should request a message to be sent (with the instructions) to your backer e-mail.

What GauSki said... I also like Yurgon's point of making an area familiar. If you vary the difficulty of the mission, it's best to make to balance with flight time: short/hard, long/easy so people won't have to restart a long flight too often and would be able to restart numerous times a tough mission to try various approaches. P.S. You should merge the two identical threads ;)

[REPORTED]World and Incockpit Sounds only take effect after restart
PiedDroit replied to FOXFIRE TWOONE's topic in Sound Bugs
I noticed that too. Actually they work, the sound level changes are taking effect after the game has been restarted. -
It looks more like optical illusion to me too. It seems there's wing flex but as soon as the wing is aligned with the camera you see there's no flex (as on Hummingbird's screenshot). AFAIK the mirage wing were known for their strength and rigidity and they allowed the aircraft to carry very heavy loads. This should make it quite tough to take down, too.
