Deadman replied to Mtnbiker1998's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hey that is great they have lasted i guess it is an indicator of the quality of fabric and workmanship -
....? what do you mean do you want some one to build it?
-
You want how much for a switch?!
Deadman replied to Braeden108's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Guys if your looking to build a realistic pit and want the extra tactile feel. there are places to get your Mils spec switch much cheaper than Digikey. Check my list of switch part number I just reworked the AHCP section and do some searching and you will find deals that make having real mil spec switch affordable and you can't beat the feel of a real switch. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2671577#post2671577 -
Yes I pick some I have most of the parts I need and there are time I do find things.

HI I am going to use a real ADI from a simulator so I wanted an LCD that would fit in the 3.25inch square RWR bezel. There is no place to hide the extra bit of screen on a regular shape(rectangular). I have found some simulator RWR screens I just have not had time to get new cables one for power and another for signal.

Thanks but I can't wait to scrap out my three to build A-10 MFCD bezels the buttons on these are Nucken Futz awesome!!!

Guys if some one tells you some thing can't be done or only done by some one with expert skills please use your own judgement. I have a soldering station and have watched three how to videos. That said the f -16 bezels have been converted from the hard Milspec plug to a ribbon cable 6.5 inches long took a bout a hour just because i was careful.all that is needed is a bit of silicon to secure/ insulate the ribbon it is a shame people listened to the wrong people those that got these will be very happy!!!

The A-10 73 degree rail angle the seat sit s at 15 degree off the vertical The F-16 55.5 Rail angle and 30 seat off the vertical

These are out of F-16s so I will just gut them. Then possibly have a friend 3d print a bezel or I may need to pay some one to mill them out of aluminum the quality of the rockers and buttons is just great. As far as displays I have a MIP conversion that will include the space for two LCDs for the MFCD so they will sit closer to the bezel. Having LCDs cut is very expensive and I failed to do it my self and spent quite a bit trying.

They are 4 Inch bezels

Well I picked up a couple of sets of bezels I know they are not correct for the A-10C but I figure I can scrap them out and use the buttons any way there was an orange connector that was hard to find and some guys from another form said they would not work!!! Well i tested all the switches and back lighting everything works. Opened up the bezel cut off a lower connector pull the pins by heating with my Iron the old connector popped right off with the last pin and everything cleaned up beautifully here are a few pic. I just need to find my junk box solider a ribbon cable to it and fire it up. So much for listing to the so called experts that say it could not be done or only done by some one with years of experience took about 2 hour so far.

Clay I am not sure why you would think that I would not consider you a member of any group. There is not really a group any more Just one or two people that either ask my opinion on prices of things or if items are worth purchasing for a cockpit build. I am not sure where this is coming from or means. Thanks for complements This has been addressed before but I will cover it once again when I made the fist set of plans it was a direct coping of my real trainer. I checked on prices of Aluminum in the E.U ( absolutely crazy prices) and converted every thing to wood. At that time I had spent a considerable amount of time on the project I cut thing short by not rehashing earlier plans to make units that will disassemble. My objective was to create a set of plans that were the least expensive to make so no disassembly no cnc needed and made from cost effective materials. The plans contain all of the measurements to make a 1 to 1 replica (copy) of the A-10 fuselage. This gives the user the ability to change the configuration of his or her pit to be what the individual wants. Made form aluminum on a rolling platform or disassemble. So I have no Idea why your readdressing this issue I am not really sure what your point it or how it is a reply to previous post.

I don't have any other plans scheduled for release at this time. I am still waiting on a price from the company to cut the left right and center consoles and aluminum back plates. Those will be available for one run hopefully soon. ( yes I know they have told me it before and failed to get a bid to me). I don't expect more than 3 or 4 orders any way With the limited response I have received in the past. As far as light plates go I tried to entice a member to make them from my replica light plates plans( DXF files) (The engraved plates that light up green on the control boxes) so they would fit the replica back plates and be back lightable. So far no luck with that. This is all I can provide at a reasonable cost with out any investment in a CNC.
