  1. Has anyone experienced looking downwards into the cockpit triggering a VR view recenter? A circular cursor fills clockwise, if you stay still the view recenter …. I’d like to turn this off if possible.
  2. Now OpenXR is receiving my Quest2’s hand tracking. I’m hoping that this opens up a short term and a medium term possibility for support in DCS. The OpenXR Toolkit seems to enable your hands to emulate VR Controllers and thus allows hands to work (moderately well) in FS2020. Has any one got this working in DCS as a short term solution? The medium term solution would be ED supporting OpenXR hand tracking natively and allowing hand position and finger gestures to interact directly with DCS cockpit controls. Might I ask if this is being considered please?
  3. Suspect Page File size should be at least as large if not larger than Physical RAM?
  4. Please, we really need TACAN heading fixed for the F-5.
  5. Is it possible that the performance gain is due to VD running at a lower resolution/pixel density that native Link? The image is perhaps (subjectively) improved in VD but maybe due to a softening due to lower-res and a then a sharpening filter.
  6. Tried again with Easy Communications enabled (counter the player guide advice) and it’s working fine. Does that make any sense? I’m in VR and did auto-startup. Loving the immersion but so easy to become overloaded with flying, navigating, communicating … never mind anything hostile happening!
  7. Hello love the detail here but I’m stuck early mission 1. After taking off and tuning COM2 to preset 3 my comm button no longer works. The menu doesn’t appear any more. Any help appreciated!
  8. Moving head back/forwards intersects black cockpit aligned obstacle obscuring forward view on Quest 2. Is anyone else seeing this?
  9. thank you very much for your hard work and rapid response, looking forward to the next step!
  10. Looking forward to entering the dynamic missions but unable to skip Mission 1 as suggested in docs/briefing. F10 option is there before take-off, I selected with no effect and its gone post take-off. I imagine an A-B-C-D style mission completion code is required to initialise the following dynamic missions. I did fly the first (not zeroth) mission, was unable to refuel due to lack of skill and there was no F10 option to skip it, bombed the practice targets, landed on CVN but no mission completion screen to provide a completion code, but I have now access to mission "2". At one stage I flew mission "2" but got the impression there was no Red activity to be found. Could someone advise me please? Running on DCS Beta 2.7
  11. Seems to only affect monitor mirror on Quest 2. Expect ReShade doesn’t know which buffer to target.
  12. Got my 908 from the Gametrix shop. Payment was hard but accomplished via bank transfer to an employee from Latvia. Delivery took a week with customs missing their chance to charge me.
  13. I think I see it in the 2.01 update. Can anyone else confirm?
  14. Really enjoying this experience ... The immersion factor recently triggered the purchase of a 4K TV and GTX980Ti. Wanted to ask if it's possible to redo earlier missions than your current progress? I thought of saving a Track each time and then restarting from that. Does that work or is there another way. Many thanks Paul
  15. Pilot's manual also from Lulu, its the A-10A rather than A-10C though. http://www.lulu.com/shop/united-states-air-force/a-10-thunderbolt-ii-pilots-flight-manual/paperback/product-2496428.html Much of the DCS documentation comes verbatim from this document.
  16. Colour Manual from Lulu Its a beast but great for reading away from a screen.
  17. Lulu colour manual Received this today. It's a huge price but around 20% larger page size and twice as thick and hard bound. It's beautiful, I dread to think how much I've spent on this Sim since the LOMAC days!
  18. Fixed Thanks, I didn't find the cookie but tried in Chrome rather than IE9 and it worked. Many thanks!
  19. I'm logged in and added to my Cart. Then at the cart page I appear to be no longer logged on. Rentering my login details takes me away from the cart page. Returning to the Cart page and I'm not logged in again so cannot select a payment method. I've used the shop in the recent past to buy UH-1. Could you help please?
  20. Thanks, it is reassuring that there are many happy years/releases ahead for us all.
  21. I'd guess that its the military contracts that make the consumer business possible but of course I'm not in a position to know. The quality of the simulation available to us for $60 is superb. My feeling is that the value of DCS is much greater than what we pay for it. This is great for us the consumer short term but are there innovative ways we can help ensure that DCS evolves and survives long term?
  22. Flight simulation is specialised and possibly diminishing hobby, yet for us enthusiasts it is enormously exciting and some spend a lot of money on improving our experience. I’ve been a fan from the Flanker 2.0/2.5 days (I bought but never got into), all the LOMAC/FC iterations and then onto BS (played a little) and A-10 (loving it). Over this time these $40-$60 “games” have leveraged the purchase of 2 new PC’s, 5 graphics cards, 3 40”+ displays, 3 TrackIRs, most of the Saitek sticks and finally the Wartog HOTAS. I hate to think how much money this adds up to. So since ED/TFC’s brilliant work is predominantly driving this expenditure I was wondering how they might see a greater share of this money so that they could keep our hobby moving forward as we need it to. I work in the commercial software industry and an increasingly common pricing model there is software subscriptions. A regular annual payment that provides support and licences for all future releases of the software. So would it make commercial sense for ED to, in addition to the $60/game pricing model, have a subscription pricing model that provided predictable income to support on-going investment in the DCS series? The extreme example of success in a subscription model is World of Warcraft which monthly takes huge amounts of money from their customers. I doubt that a monthly pay-to-fly model will work for flight simulation though. ED/TFC must have analysed the flight simulation market in detail to support their business plan and at some stage considered a subscription pricing model. I imagine challenges would be how to add value to a subscription compared to just waiting to buy the game. Options might be to limit beta access to subscribers, providing on-line servers for subscribers, have an “insider/stakeholder” community. Maybe even (gasp!) have two levels of realism, simulator for subscribers, game+ for gamers. I understand that not everybody will be lucky enough to have additional money to spend on their hobby but they freely donate their time and skills to the community. Perhaps ED/TFC could sponsor subscriptions for the deserving. We are all passionately interested in seeing ED/TFC succeed in the long term so what ideas can we come up with to help them succeed commercially and ensure our hobby gets the future it deserves.
  23. Thanks for the reply, I did try what you suggested but no joy. I ended up reformatting and starting from scratch (unfortunately sacrificing an activation!). I think one of the crossfire monitoring utilities didn't uninstall correctly giving me the problem.
  24. I've been messing with various programs to assess crossfire performance with DCS A10 and FC2. I've installed/uninstalled msiafterburner and radeonpro. Somewhere along the way I've picked up the red square in the top left of the display when loading that changes into flashing white/pink/yellow/red squares when the sim runs in Crossfire. Does anyone recognise this and can help me get rid of this, please?:cry_2:
