  1. This has happened to me, what, once in all my time flying the vhog. :)
  2. While it is indeed lotsa fun sitting on the deck flipping switches, it does get boring after a few hours...don't ask.
  3. Yeah, happens to me when I peek on other planes outside my own office.
  4. My friend had an engine fire once, and after he had landed and repaired, he couldn't start that engine again what so ever. Now I know that you now think he missed something or didn't try all available options for making it run, but he tried everything, it would not start. Might be something bugged in the repair code for the engines?
  5. But that argument holds only if more bombs means more dead enemisies... :)
  6. I'm not sure, but my guess would be that ED is removing them from the stock install of DCSW because they have bugs, something having to do with them being deemed as 3rd party? :P Yeah, I'm all for this. Tracks bugs out half the times I watch them now having my plane crash right into the ground for no reason... I'd also love to see tracks being implemented in another way, allowing for better playback control, like rewinding the track.
  7. Alright, thanks! So what happens if I have this set to the same button on my TM HOTASW as the NWS button? Will the NWS button work as stick to trimmer when gears not out and AAR hatch not out?
  8. You generally cannot transfer fuel in the air, but what you want to do is make the engine only use fuel from the tank with the most fuel. To do this, you need to enable crossfeed by setting the CROSSFEED switch to ON, and then disable the tank pump for the tank with the least fuel. So in your case, disable the left internal tank pump, and the tank fuel levels will equal once the engines have used enough fuel. Edit: Wrote wrong about which tank to disable fuel pump for...
  9. Hey, I noticed a keybinding called stick to trimmer in the controls. What does this do? Regards.
  10. How will the DVADR be implemented? I guess you'll only make the switches functional, but this is still better than nothing. :) Annoying having dead switches in an otherwise fully interactive cockpit.:megalol:
  11. ED states in the preliminary change log for 1.1.0.9 that the DVADR will become functional. It probably just means they will model the switches, etc, not actual recording functionality.
  12. I think it's nice you post them, as it's nice to give us something to wait for/look forward to. ;)
  13. Hmmm yeah, but there is certainly a bug that causes some errors in CDU? Because today I typed in TGT1 into the CDU, and then it automatically renamed it TGT2 for some reason. Also, this time a waypoint called 2050 was created with the name of BATUMI1, which was listed in the DIVERT page of the CDU in addition to 51 BATUMI. Weird stuff...
  14. I asked because someone told me to in a letter I received with some money included. :joystick:
  15. Any update on time of release, ED? Can't wait for this patch! :)
  16. More detailed: 1. Open your triggers dialog by clicking on the "Set rules for trigger" button on the left of the mission editor. 2. Under the leftmost box, click "NEW", set TYPE to 1 ONCE and then call it something like "Hostile Group Dead". 3. Under the middle box, click "NEW" and then select "TYPE" as "GROUP DEAD" and select your group. 4. Under the right box, click "NEW" and then select "ACTION" as "FLAG ON" and, say, 5. 5. Go to your AFAC flight, select the waypoint you want it to orbit. 6. Click ADVANCED, under the waypoint selector, click ADD, set TYPE to Perform Action and ACTION to Orbit. 7. While Orbit is selected, press STOP CONDITION and set IS USER to 5. Voila! Now the AFAC will hold in orbit until the group is dead. :) I think IS USER is really IS USER FLAG but the value box is so large it covers the FLAG bit...
  17. Anyone know what 4 and 0.8 means, or are they just meaningless internal alignment calibration variables? I've also seen a video of a real A-10 where it said 4.1 0.8.
  18. I think ED wrote the manual with a lot of FUTURE features in mind according to the real A-10, then added "Not functional" or "Not modeled in this sim" to many of them on release. Can't blaim them for missing out on a few things... :) They can remove some of these "Not functional" statements now with the implementation of many of them with the next patch 1.1.0.9, e.g. the Armament Safety Switch. :)
  19. Yes, I know, but I find it strange all the triangles are flashing.
  20. 1. The STEER PT dial selects the current steer point mode to use. If set to FLT PLAN it will only let you go select steer pts from the waypoints in your flight current flight plan. If you have made other waypoints (e.g. from JTAC or an bulls offset) you want to set this to MSN for it to show all waypoints. Not sure why it's called MSN, but in this mode it shows all waypoints, including the ones in all your flight plans, as well as all the navigation points (airports) and the bullseye. Remember that you can also use the UFC to toggle between different modes with FUNC + 7,8,9. 2. Not sure why this happens, but once it happens you can correct it by typing in an existing wp number, say, 0, into the scratchpad, then hit the waypoint select on the left side of the CDU. This solves both problems. I'm also interested in knowing what causes these two problems...
  21. It says in the manual "When the pilot is indeed very cold, he will start to shiver and falsely read the wrong airspeed from the Air Speed Indicator. To correct this, turn on the Pilot Heater." :pilotfly:
  22. When receiving a JTRS engagement message over the SADL, a red flashing triangle shows up on the TAD. Are really ALL the red triangles supposed to flash in reality on the A-10 when receiving such a message, it makes more sense to me that it would only be only the current one that is flashing, to make it stand out from the previous ones. It has happened several times that I have received such a message and the current one got mixed in with the other million red triangles I had there, making me unsure which one the newest one is.
  23. I'm not sure of 1. and 2., but if you download the GUI manual, there is lots of info covering most aspects of the mission editor. :) It can be found here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/documentation/dcs-a-10c_warthog_gui_manual_en/
  24. Hey Shelt, Make a trigger that activates when the group in question is dead set a flag, say 5, to true, and then you can set the STOP CONDITION to USER flag 5 is true, and they will stop orbiting once the group in question is dead. :)
  25. Thanks for the reply, slackerD, a couple things. 1. So the way to go about this is to keep them in orbit a little bit away from where the bandits are with a HOLD FIRE or RETURN FIRE and then when the user asks them in with the F10 menu, it stops the orbit, then they continue to the next waypoint, which is the zone where the bandits are where there is an action Search And Engage with max distance say 10 nm to avoid them killing the other russians north of the border? Will they engage the trespassing bandits then on Search And Engage if ROE=RETURN FIRE, or do I explicitly have to turn this to OPEN FIRE? How do I make them say "Pushing from waypoint 2", etc? Edit: Nevermind 1., got this working. They will say "On station at WPx" once they enter orbit, and "Pushing from WPx" when moving on. Had to set ROE to OPEN FIRE for them to actually engage. I removed CAP enroute task to avoid having them engage other flights, and then once on the next WP from the one they left orbit, I had them Search And Engage with 8 nm max distance. Did the same with the SEAD, worked like a charm. Thanks! 2. If I give an A-10 with the wp/actions below, will it then orbit, then move into another orbit whilst providing AFAC, or will it fly anywhere while providing AFAC, maybe into the zones I don't want it to fly, until the AFAC is complete, and THEN do the next orbit? I guess what I'm wondering is, will a unit ATTEMPT to do all the actions in a waypoint at once, or do them one at a time? WP1: orbit until 5 is true WP2: FAC - Attack Group("BLAH") FAC - Attack Group("BLEH") orbit in circle until 6 is true 3. But are there really names like WP1, FENCE, IP, etc, reserved names? I've seen them be used in other missions... And it's still wierd 51 shows up on the CDU DIVERT page as TOWEL1, one of my initial points. Also 2050 is used for TOWEL. Weird. Sorry for all the questions, but it's nice knowing that there are people here willing to help a noob in learning... :)
