  1. I have the Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals also, bought them for the price. The center detent is the only that annoys me about them; does anyone know if there is possible to remove this?
  2. Right, so I removed the guide as I found it did not really help as to reduce the slack to any permanent degree. However, the center play on this stick still annoys me, so I'm posting my discoveries here. Yes, I know, I am really picky about this...:music_whistling: I've opened and closed my stick so many times now I'm getting very tired of it, but I do have a discovery that might have something to do with the play. I found that the play on my stick is only moving in one particular direction; right now there is slack between center and up left on the stick, and that the play in other directions is neglectable. I also found that the direction of this play depends on how the big centering spring is positioned, pushing on the black elevator cylinder. If I rotate this centering spring around, say 90° clockwise, the direction of the play will in turn move 90° clockwise as well! This tells me that the play on, well, at least my stick is caused by this spring. I cannot however make any sense out of this, nor how to fix it. So if anyone can confirm this is the case on their stick as well, at least to some degree, it would bring us closer to finding out what causes play on the TMHW. :)
  3. If some of you have problems with stiction, I noticed something on my stick that caused extra stiction. I opened up mine and looked at each of the 8 screws fastening the white O-ring to the black cylinder. I found one of these had been slightly angled when screwed into place, thus skewing the white ring quite a bit, causing a lot of unnecessary tension on the 4 struts. I loosened this screw a bit, and voila, loads of less stiction. If you have a lot of stiction, this might have happened to your stick as well, worth checking out. I'm gonna try out lubing some Molkyte EM-30L on the struts and ball as well, see if it makes it better. Just gotta find some where I live.
  4. This would be great if accompanied with a running server, giving info about the TS3 server upon entry. Possibly requiring users to see a DCS server password in TS3 once they've joined your TS3 server, requiring them to use voice comms. :) I've noticed some of the sq's using this.
  5. Everything is possible. Nothing is impossible. :)
  6. Doesn't the max zoom in DCS pretty much represent the level of detail you would see with your real eyes? I mean, I usually fly with 60° field of view in the game, which is about what humans experience, but depending on how far I sit from my 21" monitor, I probably have a real field of view of around 10°, which means if I set the ingame FOV to 10° it would represent the level of detail, or zoom, I'd really experience. This would give me somewhere around the max zoom in DCS, but it would be too narrow to fly with normally... My point is, even the max zoom in DCS isn't probable to simulate binoculars anytime soon, unless I change the values as stated. I'd really apreciate if ED modeled some kind of optical enhancement such as binoculars. Maybe like with night vision, only they enable zooming in more, maybe to 3° or similar.
  7. So? Will we get rockets in the tubes? :D Cheers!
  8. ED needs to fix the JTAC in DCSW. They're essential to this module more than anything and as of now it is broken.
  9. I'm no expert and have only flown virtually, but I bet for an experienced hog pilot it is much down to his own procedure depending on what of the systems he needs running, etc. Of course, the procedures are there keeping stress from making you forget something. Does anyone have a video from a real A-10C startup? :) Or any real video of a pilot filming inside the cockpit in general.
  10. Good initiative!
  11. Mine moves a good cm too measured from the tip of the front of the stick itself (above the trigger).
  12. The A-10 needs a radar and some AMRAAMs, oh, and a tailhook for carrier landings, oh and when I think of it I'd always wanted it to have some more powerful jet engines with afterburner... :) ED?:pilotfly:
  13. ED have probs fixed all aspects of this in the next patch 1.1.0.9. ;)
  14. The transition between smoke sprites and a (possibly single) vortex sprite would be the challenge. I have never seen anyone implemented this in a game so far, so I bet it's pretty hard to make and still look good.
  15. Are you having mexican drug dealers crossing your lawn every morning or something? :D
  16. Is the boat switch used for anything other than MAV white/black symbols and TGP WHOT/BHOT? What is force correlation on the mav?
  17. Awesome video! Laughed pretty good there! :)
  18. You'll have to perform an aerial restart though. Windmill or with the APU.
  19. Hey, Me and my buddy are flying a lot using TARS, and although most likely somewhat unrealistic, we'd like to have TARS produce more radio noise, even at closer ranges. Any way to do this?
  20. Come on guys, how awesome wouldn't this be in DCS:
  21. I agree, with the DCS series evolving thanks to the good efforts from the devs of ED, modern sim combat looks very promising! :) I can't wait for the next module to be ready, and I'm looking forward to not only aircraft being modeled very well, but also the general aspects of the engine, like JTAC working properly, possibility to seamlessly contact ground forces if needed, ATC working like it should in real life AFBs, emergency landing reguests, chatter with the boom operator in AAR, implementation of good carrier ops (hopefully with the next module should F-18 be the choice), better animated explosions and vehicle reaction to destruction (now they all just burn for 5 secs, then blow up). The list goes on, and it looks like a lot of the community mentioned wishes are always considered, which is great! :) Good going, ED! Thanks for giving us this great series!
  22. I'd also love to see switches working like a dead-end switch. I also completely agree on the idea of "hand as mouse" simulation that left clicks simulates switches "on" or "left" and right clicks does the opposite. This is what I've always felt like it really is, and some switches not working like this in the A-10 and the Ka-50, really annoys me.
  23. My friend and I discussed how interesting it would be to include a "money-spent"-meter in sims like these, showing how much $$$ you've really wasted on crashed airplanes and how much money worth of ordnance has been pickled. :)
  24. LOL! I had to laugh there, but sure, I've had tons of engine fires, but the repair not working thing never happened to me... ;) Yes. We tried everything. The engine spooled up to about 30 % rpm core, then didn't go any further.
