Is there a way to shut off the engines of an aircraft using the scripting engine? Generally, I want to know how I can shut off the engines of a helo that has landed using the new "Land" action task.

Hi, I think it is great that we can now choose from a list of clients available to play as when joining what are really set up as multiplayer missions. However, the logbook does not track flight hours completed in "Client", only "Player". Also, it would make sense to log flight hours done in multiplayer. Cheers. Lost

I got sick of the upgrade BS2, so I just bought the full version. Now I have two copies...

Impressive that you are releasing beta before the end of 2012. Looking forward to flying your Huey! Lost

Logbook and campain from A10c to DCS World
LostOblivion replied to Leysard's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I just manually aggregated all information from all my backuped games logbooks from earlier installs/uninstalls since april 2011 until now and combined it. Now I have all my "virtual career" data gathered in my current logbook. I used Notepad++ for the editing the logbook.lua file. However, the format has changed in DCS World, so you have to copy it over manually. But it is an easy job. :) Lost -
I corrected you.

DCS World dedicated server! ED should make a generality dedicated server where in both singleplayer and multiplayer the server will run, and then the clients will communicate with it. You should be able to log in as a server admin and manage the server from a client. Making a generality dedicated server will reduce the amount of work required to make it, because they will only have to focus on one server hosting the entire game world, and a client, in contrast to those two for multiplayer, plus functionality for singleplayer. Hmmm, most of "our aircraft wishes" included voting "no" for this one hehe. Personally, I'd love to fly anything that has fidelity and can fly. :) Lost

Me and my friend were playing a mission last night where he was flying an Su-25T with the goal of attacking my airfield, and I was flying an A-10C with the goal of attacking his airfield (both with ground forces). Let's just say it turned into a real fun evening. Now, had the Su-25T in DCS World gotten an avionics upgrade to match the fidelity of the A-10C, I would certainly buy it. Then, NATO and Russia would have an equivalent fidelity airframe with respect to its task. Lost

I'm using TrackIR, and without using LAlt+C I get the same bug. It does not make the game unplayable, but it is a significant bug. The problem is that the cursor seems to be visible when not moving the mouse, when it should be hidden, and then sometimes it does not appear again when moving the mouse until flailing for an undeterministic period of time. Waiting for a hotfix.

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List

Corrected you. -
ED! You need to QA your releases a lot more before release. The longer you develop this game, naturally bugs will happen, but there are starting to be so many now that it's getting annoying! 1. Spiraling aircraft. 2. On the radio, the sound play as "2, RTB", but it says "to 2nd, RTB", etc. 3. JTAC, A-10, says 1150 x guns twice, etc, even mentions weapons that aren't there... More shinieness, please. :-)

I would love to buy the frog again if ED made it in DCS fidelity. I enjoy flying it now in DCS World, but not having immersion through a clickable cockpit really puts me off, but I'd love to fly it in full fidelity. Lost

Ah, I understand. Like many things in software engineering, simple features are often more intricated to implement than one would often think. However, I am sure it will become a feature sooner or later. :)

Ok... I would also like to see the possibility of changing controls options while in-game. I have lost count over how many times I had to quit a game I am hosting just so I can change my controls.
-
I don't really see why you want to argument against it. It's really only going in one direction, and that is improving the general quality of the game. An analogy to your argumentation would be something like this: "Why do we need hydrogen fuel cell propulsion in automobiles? Pff. Name three cars that do this..." It's moronic, of course. I hope you see my point. Your three games: Left for Dead, Minecraft, ARMA2. (Quite popular titles, I'm amazed you have not played any of them.)

Really, guys? It's quite common these days in many applications, and is what to be expected. At least the controls should refresh once you enter controls options. I don't know about you, but I usually switch between speakers and headset all the time, and often forget to switch to my headset before starting the game so that TIR works and I can hear my squadron in TS. Also, I don't unplug TIR, I just never start up the application until I'm gonna use it for games.

Hey, As it is now, if I start the game and change sound output device (say from speakers to headset), start TrackIR, connect my joystick, or anything that has to do with input or output devices, the game has to be restarted in order to see the change. This is really annoying, and should be supported by the game. Lost

Just because your hardware hasn't changed, doesn't mean the "Low", "Normal", "High"-settings in your game graphics options hasn't changed too. "Normal"-setting today probably means what was "High"-setting one year ago. Deal with it.

Stop your arrogance, it is a perfectly valid question.
