I have my own personal feelings on this one.... but I'll let 'em slide becasue I really like Labatts Blue. :icon_jook

Canada?...... What????

I agree, and I think the statement "people would complain if thier ice cream was cold," generally applies to most things. I think that if ED handed each of us a real SU or Mig that people would still complain. WHAAAAA :( I crahsed it and broke it, or WHAAAAA :( it was just too much immersion and too realistic. My main point of this thread is that I would be a little upset if 1.2 was the end to Lock On. (There is my WHAAAAA for the day :()

The could name it Lock-On Platinum.... The one to rule them all! :horseback

What do you think is the most pressing issue?? Don't you think a re-release, if they did do further updates (i.e Lock-on Gold) could be sold on a large scale?
-
So you think that asking for AFM and AWM for the rest of the aircraft is either unfeasible or not lucrative? Personally, I would pay up to $60 usd for just the SU's to have AFM and 6DOF
-
Do you think that part of the reason why Lock-On will be finished after 1.2 is because if ED implements advanced features for aircraft originally flyable in 1.0, that people will cry if it isnt done for all the flyable aircraft?
-
How many of you think that the crying and complaining would never end if ED implemented AFM, AWM, high polygon model and 6DOF only for the SU-33 and SU-27 as the last Lock-On project? :(

I was online searching for AIM-9 footage and stumbled across these interesting video clips of guided MLRS rockets. http://www.lockheedmartin.com/data/assets/2392.mpeg http://www.lockheedmartin.com/data/assets/2393.mpeg http://www.lockheedmartin.com/data/assets/2396.mpeg

The game frequently crashes (about 50% of the time) when rainstorms are chosen in the mission editor. This happens when the mission is finished loading (right when it should take you to the cockpit).

The 4 VMAQ squadrons are located at MCAS Cherry Point. The website is http://www.2maw.usmc.mil/MAG14/default.asp

One of my good friends worked at NAS Whidbey Island on EA-6B's. Some of the squadrons are jointly operated especially the training squadron. (I like all you Navy boys... every time we need to go somewhere and fight, you boys give us a ride ;) ) Here is a good website for all the squadrons located at NAS Whidbey Island. http://www.naswi.navy.mil/pao/Commands%20and%20%20Depts.htm Semper Fi

Great soundpack, breaking the sound barrier sounds a lot more realistic. The two gripes I have are: flares sound like rockets, and Kh-41 has no sound after first stage burns out.

Here is a good video of a 2,000lb blast: http://fromtheinside.us/multi-media/videos/2klgb.html

How about this for the upcoming Black Shark
Fudd replied to phantom_fly85's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Say like 50% of the time when you incorporate the Harrier in the mission, it sits on the tarmac with a mechanic beating it with a cresent wrench and swearing loudly. :p :p -

In order to incorporate the Harrier, you will need to incorporate LHA's LHD's or the British aircraft carriers. If you watch carrier ops with Harriers, they DO NOT take off like in the video, especially with a combat load. They get a runnin start and then transition into vertical flight. If ED does incorporate the Harrier they should model how much time Harriers spend being broken versus actual flight time!! :) -
Client He Ya, I have them set @ 300 so thats probably why. I do notice it happens with long load times.

While playing multiplayer, I have had the issue where I get the "press S" caution label to start the mission. Of course I press S to start the mission but it does not start, just freezes up and I have to quit the mission and reconnect. This happens about 15% of the time. (The server is 1.11 and I have 1.11 installed)

Cockpit interaction in future addons
Fudd replied to aimmaverick's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
This leads me to the question: Will APU/APP's be modeled in 1.2 for all aircraft that use them? -
The Z variant is not in use yet by the HMLA squadrons. The pictures given in the intro are probably the W variant which is in full use.

Here is a source for the ALQ countermesaures located aft of the rotor shaft: The AN/ALQ-44 is what is known as "hot brick" jammer. It is a little cylindrical "lighthouse" faced with a hot ceramic brick core that radiates strongly in the infrared. The core is surrounded by a rotating shutter that turns the infrared output on and off. A heatseeking SAM tries to home in on the hot jammer module, but when it is pulsed "off", the missile then assumes it has lost lock and veers off target. This is what I was able to find about the detecting equipment, and the data seems to be consistent to the systems employed by the CH-53. ECP-1674 Electronic Warfare (EW) Suite reduces aircraft vulnerability with electronic countermeasures. The suite is designed to alert and protect the aircraft from surface-to-air and air-to-air missiles. The AN/AAR-47 Missile Warning System (MWS) provides a visual and aural warning to flight crews of missile detection, while at the same time the MWS will initiate countermeasures by sending an eject signal to the AN/ALE-39 Countermeasures Dispenser Set (CDS). The AN/AVR-2 Laser Warning Receiver detects pulsed laser light (such as a rangefinder) directed at the helicopter and warns the crew of this activity. It provides an audio alert and identifies the threat by its type and location relative to the helicopter. The AN/APR-39A(V)2 Radar Detection System is a passive omni-directional detection system which receives and displays information to the pilot concerning the radar environment surrounding the helicopter. (Taken from http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/aircraft/ah-1w.htm) The ALE depensor sets are the flare boxes located on the stub wings. As far as the IR lamp, which heats up and emits pulses of energy (located behined the rotor shaft), I'll keep looking for a source. I do however can promise you that is how it works, I had lots of friends who worked on hueys and cobras.

Scotsman: There is no onboard camera to look aft of the aircraft. The only thing close to this would be the FLIR bottle on the bottom nose of the aircraft, but I know on the H-53 you could not see a full 360 degrees with it (fusalage was in the way). As for landing on LHD's and LHA's, plane captains and LSO's are tasked with ensuring full 360 degree safety from rotors. GG was right when he said those sensors are for detecting IR missle launches. Trident is correct about the countermeasures pod. It actually heats up and pulses flashes of energy to confuse any IR missle.
-
The tornado's countermeasures pods do not show up in the mission editor and also do not show up in the game.

Guess that answered my question about AH-1's and AIM-9's... SWEET!
