  1. Yep, sorry, did a quick re-install and forgot about changing the aspect from 1.3333 to 1.6 and the FOV stuff in the graphics config file. Done now.....
  2. LockOn 1.12 by ED A-10A by SIMMOD Nevada Terrain by Hawg11 ......refresher training in-progress........
  3. Nostalgic Daydreaming.......... ...while we wait for DCS: A-10
  4. To do this properly, I would think you would need to introduce airframe serial numbers into sim as in the same way you do pilots, ie, 'Pilot Logs' would also have 'Aircraft Logs'. Also, I could see this only beneficial in a single player envirnoment. I don't think it would be practical in a multiplayer environment unless there was a common pool of aircraft serial numbers on the server for allocation to clients as they join. You would also need to implement a hard-coded maintenance schedule so that aircraft could be taken 'out-of-service' for required hourly maintenance checks. How would you handle parts logistics and supply chain delays for depot shipments. How would you implement required depot-level maintenance? Emergency Aircraft Procedures are a huge part of the training schedule and much sim time is spent during IQT, MQT and CT(RAP) covereing these topics. I can see training missions designed with certain failure types being introduced (existing capability), but how many sim pilots are going immediate break-off a mission and RTB when they encounter an Over-G condition for an immediate and reguired airframe inspection? I don't think there are going to be too many, but, that's just my opinion. Great idea - a lot of work to implement properly.
  5. Nope. Think of Touchbuddy as a 'virtual, programmable' USB keyboard with an unlimited set of keys. All it does is send keyboard commands to the game - no different than programming you HOTAS. Its just done graphically instead of physically. I have a rotated 17" sitting between two Thrustmaster MFDs, running in client(local)/server mode via TCP/IP - works fine, and its a lot of extra space I use for other things as well.
  6. Thank You sweinhart3........its a start and more than I had before.
  7. A simple Google for "Nellis AFB (KLSV)" should put you on links for all kinds of sectional charts, airport diagrams, arrival and depature charts and references, range descriptions, Red Flag information, etc, etc. I would not expect ED to provide all this information. As for Nellis itself, just looking at the screenshots you can determine whether or not the airfield is "comforming with location and design of their real world counterparts". It clearly is. The 03/21-R/L runways are clearly visable in the first screenshot, along with Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Las Vegas in the background. The A-10 in picture #1 is on an approximately 32-33 heading north-northwest of Las Vegas headed out over the Desert MOA (approximately 36°44'17"N 114°54'31"W) - just a guess on my part. In shot #2, you can clearly see State Route 7 (HWY 93) just above the Interstate 15 intersection. The last screenshot is more than likely taken from Ramp G looking across the runways towards the main flightline. All in all, I'd say the "accuracy" is right-on.
  8. Same could be said for Iraq and Afghanistan...........
  9. Touchbuddy has no graphic relationship to the game itself. You might want to pickup Touchbuddy Toolkit and resize/reconfigure the tabs display to fit the 7" screen as previously mentioned, but if you're running default resolution, most of the user-created profiles should work. The image might be small if you have "older" eyes. Or, you could just build your own profile. WBK's Lomac profile (with or without labels) should work fine a give you the basic set of functions for the A-10/F-15. Other profiles are there for other aircraft; Su-25T, etc. There are some however that will require a bigger monitor area - i.e. DCS:BS - especially those who have integrated additional components like LOVP and BSVP.
  10. Great modeling...... I'd like to see the 'cutaway' model for this aircraft (and every other aircraft available in the DCS/FC series) be made available as a static object to populate aircraft maintenance areas at the bases. Together with other "pad" mods that include ladders, toolboxes, APUs, bomb carts, etc., these static aircraft could bring a lot more life to the air base scenes.
  11. Somebody have something more current then? I sure could use the help which would be greatly appreciated.
  12. I found this drawing somewhere on this forum but I don't know whom to credit for providing it. What I can't figure out, are the deminsions in inches or mm? I'm thinking these are in inches. Are these correct or close to correct? Any assistance would be appreciated.
  13. I would want it only if the specific weather conditions that permit could be implemented - temperature, humidity, etc. - elsewise, I'm going to be too busy flyin' & fightin' to care too much about it. Besides, the only time you're going to see this is in outside and flyby views... that's movie and screenshot maker stuff and not too essential to my overall objective........
  14. Will a version of BSVP be done for DCS:A-10C Warthog?
  15. @sweinhart3 I have all the deminsional data for the ACESII and the left and right consoles. What I need is the deminsional data for the Center Panel and construction can begin. Could you (or anyone else here) provide the Center Panel sizes. Thanks.
  16. Thanks Matt! It was killin' me trying to find all the different threads........
  17. There is a lot of this kind of information, for multiple country weapon systems, at globalsecurity.org - you just have to dig (search) into the site to find the information though.

As simple as it sounds, everytime I look at it and its forward swept drop wings I just think "Hawk" - maybe a derivative. Or maybe "Astra".

Excellent piece of work. Its just beging for a NAME!!!
  20. Thank You EB. I look forward to putting the "Insurgent" faction to some use.
  21. Believe me Eric, I understand "feature creep" as much or more than the next guy - I am in the software business. However, given the scope of theater (small) and the core sim "close support helo" operations (the only flyable IS a helo), I just don't see how the jet sim (LOFC) coalitions fit - not and be anything like realistic when it comes to shaping a campaign or mission plan based on real, likely or fictional events. Sure, I can plot AI jet missions overhead, but, they aren't going to have much impact on what happens down on the ground where I'm at in my KA-50. What is the "Political Viewpoint" of Black Shark? Its an important question - yes? What are these combat helo's doing in Georgia - sightseeing? I would venture to guess that KA-50's are or could be used to put down rebel or partisan uprisings, support regional seperatist movements and autonomous governments, perform peace-keeping functions. If all we have to chose from is "Georgia" to represent both sides of an Abkhazian versus Georgia conflict, how are we supposed to do that? How can you interject a NATO peacekeeping force to separate these two combatants without some mechanism/coalition called UNOMIG? It can't be that hard to add these coalitions with MANPAD's, assorted trucks and maybe some outdated IFV/APC units - can it? Without an opponent aircraft type for the KA-50 - other than AI - not having these additional "coalitions" is going to severly constrict mission/campaign development plausability. KA-50 on KA-50 is going to get pretty boring - fast. We need these options to extend the playability and lifetime of the sim.
  22. I've read thru just about all the topics here and with (very) minor exceptions, the subject of expanding the "Coalitions" has not been discussed or expanded upon that much. Given the "terrain map" released several months ago and the "Area of Operations" involved, I'd like to see the following added with a proper grouping of objects representative of those groups: (Of course, I'm speaking from purely a mision buiilder point of view...) Additional Coalitions GRVZ - Operational Group of Russian Forces in the Transcaucasus UNOMIG - United Nations Observer Mission in Georgia Abkhazian forces North Ossetian forces (rebels/partisans) South Ossetian forces (rebels/partisans) Ajarian forces (rebels/partisans) Armenia Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti (rebels/partisans) Guria (rebels/partisans) Imereti (rebels/partisans) Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti (rebels/partisans) Any action being taken in this area?
  23. This really does need to get packaged with LO:RELOAD over at SIM-MOD.
  24. Are you all talking about munitions - or something else..........
