  1. Thats a good question, I guess from an armchair pilots perspective its probably the latter so the cables ‘feel’ and look real
  2. I don’t really want to get into a back-and-forth with you as I don’t think it’s constructive but what I would say is that it’s not a ‘random’ smartphone sim, it’s a combat flight sim with carrier landings simulated so my comparison is somewhat warranted. I sincerely apologise for not answering your question, I didn’t mean to trigger you by saying my view on the current wire physics is that they need improvement. It doesn’t take an expert to perhaps come to the opinion that how the cables behave in game vs. how they appear to in countless amounts of footage on YT suggests improvements are needed in terms of the wires impact on an airframe at touchdown/hook grab. If you think I’m wrong, just say that instead of using italics and suggesting my comparisons offer nothing of consequence.
  3. If you have an iPhone, try CarrierLandingHD and you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about. Don’t you think the wire physics is a little lacking in the way it pays out and just generally behaves when an aircraft’s hook is attached to it?
  4. I’ve been spending a lot of time in the CH47 recently and one thing that has stood out is how good the physics of the sling load cables is (at least when connected to a heavy object). Why can’t we have that for the SC’s arresting wires?
  5. @BIGNEWY is this going to be looked at and/or prioritised at all? Thanks
  6. I’m running a Quest Pro and a RTX4090 and with my current settings, I can get 90fps on the maps I fly (Persian Gulf, Nevada). However, one thing that always hammers my frames is the SC at night, specially when the deck lighting/illumination comes on. Anyone know how to turn it off at all? Is it even possible? Thanks
  7. Moza (whatever you may think of them as a company) has a FFB base out that could prove to pair nicely with the C-130J. Anyone know if FFB will be supported by the module? https://uk.mozaracing.com/products/ay210-yoke-base
  8. Interesting, in % terms what would you say you gained?
  9. In the latest newsletter, it’s mentioned that the CH-47 will be getting enhanced rope physics. @BIGNEWY will these be applied to the carriers arresting cables? Thanks
  10. I read somewhere recently that ED have received an AB9 unit from Moza and are/will be working on outputting better telemetry for their modules. I'm pretty sure it was a post from Wags but I can't find it after spending 5-10 mins look for it. @NineLine are you able to confirm plz?
  11. Pretty simply ask, is it possible to have the same wing flutter/shake for the F-18 as we do for the F-16 etc?

  12. When you say preparing for Vulkan, what does that mean? Is there any update on delivery, is it planned for 2025? Thanks
  13. Any chance we'll be seeing wing flutter or buffeting on the F-18 anytime soon? It looks great on the F-16 and F-5E
  14. OXRTK Turbo Mode FTW
  15. As I’ve posted previously, I love the F-18 UFC/MIP but my biggest issue with it was just how ‘mushy’ the buttons feel. @WINWING now that you’re releasing an MCDU with audible/tactile button clicks (as per the launch trailer) will you be updating the F-18 UFC/MIP to have the same button mechanism?
  16. I’ve been playing around with my VR settings this past weekend and whilst I understand what mostly how they impact visuals/performance in DCS, I’m not sure how the FPS frame limit slider works. I’m running a Quest Pro at 90fps at around a 65% GPU (utilisation) as is fairly stable with the fps limit set at 300. Should I reduce the limit to match the QP’s refresh rate or maybe just over (say ~95fps limit)?
  17. Do we know when we’re supposed to get this feature?
  18. Hi All, Simply put, I’m looking to sell my custom F-18ish up front control panel that I built a little while ago. It comes with everything you see in the pictures (excluding the stick, Virpil base and Monstertech mount; these are only shown to give you an idea of how it’s suppose to be mounted). It’s based around Brun’s UFC that I had printed by Shapeways that was not cheap. Looking for £500 all in and shipping/collection only in the UK (as I’m based in London) Any questions, let me know. Thanks
  19. FWIW, what I found really helped is turning on Turbo Mode in the OXRTK. Obviously thats not a long term solution as its no longer supported I think
  20. So here we are almost 4 years later and still no better physics for the wires.
  21. Look like this has been marked as WiP so it should be in hand
  22. I understanding how a hornet is supposed to ‘crash’ into the deck of a carrier but there’s no ‘give’ at all in the current suspension physics.
  23. What has this got to do with Clouds & Weather? ...https://forum.dcs.world/forum/207-dcs-core-wish-list/
  24. I thought I saw a while ago that the Hornet would be getting an update to its landing gear mech. I was doing some field ops last night and I noticed that when I touched down (albeit pretty hard), the plane just stuck to the tarmac and didn't bounce around or move at all. As such, it makes landing someone trivial and trying to keep it on the runway a bit of a nonstarter (even more so with double ugly loadouts).
