  1. I’m only asking as you mention it your change log but is DVF with the QP compatible with SteamVR, I thought it wasn’t?
  2. Thanks for the replies all, will defo give it a go
  3. I’ve skim read the 12ish pages of this thread but am at a loss as to whether or not there is a performance gain to be had for those with 4090 GPUs. is it only mid-tier/older gen cards that benefit from using DFR and mbucchia’s mod?
  4. I use Leo Bodnar interface boards so there’s no need for resistors/diodes etc except for the LEDs
  5. Agreed on the high barrier to entry for OH
  6. I remember reading a little while ago that one of the product features of the Supercarrier was the ability for players to take command of the ship (ie set course and heading, speed etc). Anyone know if it’s still planned?
  7. So I think I’m finally getting around to finishing this project. Here’s the latest design changes, I’ve modelled as closely as I can based upon reference images.
  8. Thanks a bunch. Slight nitpick, is it possible to make it a sub-forum rather than a sticky?
  9. @NineLine @BIGNEWY thoughts here? It would have to just be for 3D STLs etc, cockpit panel SVGs/DXFs/designs could also be shared (maybe call the sub-forum ‘Models and Designs’ or some such)
  10. Yes, we should. I proposed this a number of years ago bit I got shouted down as it ‘wasn’t needed and people can just search for STLs/files’
  11. For those still following along, I've started to update/redesign the housing STLs to accomodate the PCBs (early renders below) and to make it slightly more accurate. I've hit a bit of a snag though; after selling my Chiron in the summer I now no longer have a printer big enough to print the main housing body. I was hoping the new Prusa MK4 would manage it but it looks like it the build plate is too small. Does anyone know of any '3D printers for hire'-type of services here in the UK? I remember a good few years ago that I had an STL printed via some website that in effect connected my with someone who was willing to print STLs via their printer at home for a small fee but I can no longer find it. Failing that, I'm happy to partener with someone who has a printer big enough to do some PoCing!
  12. Just to add my 2 cents. I bought a QP just to test it out a month or so ago and was also blown away. I know the QP gets a lot of stick for being a Meta product but it really is a first rate product.
  13. I think there’s a setting in DCS to turn off the hand controllers
  14. I'm using 3840 for my encode resolution. How have you determined that 3095 is 'optimum'? I'm also running a 4090 with my QP for a month or so now and am trying to find out what other people are using settings wise without much luck. On a separate note, the edge to edge clarity of the QP is sublime; I know a lot of people have mentioned that the clarity in the Varjo Aero cannot be matched currently but the same people have also mentioned the FOV is worse that the G2.
  15. Mods, please more to the For Sale thread if that’s more appropriate
  16. Hi All, Up for sale are a bunch of PCBs that I’ve designed recently for a project I’m no longer pursuing. As such, they’re going cheap as I’d rather someone make use of them rather than have them sitting in my drawer. There are a few different types: Type 1: F-18C DDI PCB (green; designed for tactile switches). Designed to be used with WAGO 250-412 connector blocks or wires soldered directly to the holes. Type 2: F-18 UFC PCB (designed for tactile switches with built-in LEDs). Designed to be used with WAGO 250-222 connector blocks but wires can be soldered directly to the board holes also. Type 3: F-18 DDI PCB (green; designed for tactile switches with in-built LEDs). Designed to be used with WAGO 250-222 connector blocks but wires can be soldered directly to the board holes also Type 4: F-18 DDI PCB (black; designed to be used for tactile switches). Designed to be used with WAGO 250-222 connector blocks but wires can be soldered directly to the board holes also. I’ll send over the CAD drawings for anyone who buys any so that you can use the measurements to design housings etc (ie using a 3D printer). If needed, I’ll also share links to buttons/components needed to complete the builds I’m looking for £15 for each (includes postage and Paypal) but can happily do discounts for multiple orders. Thanks
  17. Small update. I found some time to dry-wire the non-LED version of the PCB (images below). All the switches etc fit perfectly. As I said a few posts ago, I've got a bunch of these going spare so if anyone wants one of these (or the LED version), just shoot me a message!
  18. I do not have motion blur in DCS settings enabled. Edit: correcting my previous reply.
  19. Hi All, Has anyone else noticed what I can only describe as micro-stutter when banking left or right in VR? this is particularly evident in the Hornet but is present in all aircraft. For my test (although it's present in every quick-start mission, map etc), I've been simply flying the quick start F-18 Nevada mission. To reproduce, when in the cockpit keep your head still and move the stick laterally left and right and you should notice (if looking at the UFC) that for a fraction of a second the console gets blurry. I've tried turning off the 'G force moves head in cockpit' setting and that eliminates maybe ~80% of the blurry-ness but its not gone entirely. I also tried this with my OG Reverb, QUEST Pro and Pico 4 and I get the same result so just to be clear, I don't think this is headset, aircraft, map or graphic setting related (hence why I'm not attaching a track file). Anyone else notice this? Thanks
  20. Hi All, I took delivery of a new Pico 4 yesterday, installed Streaming Assistant (as I plan to use a USB cable), set all settings in the headset to max (ie 90fps, ultra quality), set SteamVR SS at 150% (just as an experiment) and to my disbelief when I put on the headset the image was horrible. The image looked like something I used to get from my OG Rift; the resolution was awful. I even opened up fpsVR to see what my system was doing and the GPU frame time was around 9ms so my system was obviously being maxed out and trying to push as many pixels to the headset as possible but for some reason, the device wasn't rendering them. Anyone have the same experience?
  21. do you think you're asking a bit much of a 2080ti to push that many pixels? Before I had a 4090 I had a 3080ti and even that struggled to give me 90fps with half decent settings in DCS
  22. Awesome, just what I was wanting to hear. I take it you also run the Varjo Base app on your PC? FWIW, I’ve just returned a Quest Pro; whilst the lenses and vertical FOV were excellent, the resolution left a little to be desired so I’m hoping the Aero is worth the £2.5k price here in the UK. Also, I've seen that there was/is some stuttering issues with the headset and RTX 4XXX series cards, that still the case or have Varjo fixed the problem?
