  1. Installed, just need to find some time to actually run the sim... Thanks for all of your hard work - it's folks like you who somehow manage to elevate an already outstanding product!
  2. It said so on the box! :smilewink: For me, there is a strong connection between immersion and SA. Using TIR supplies more than enough immersion for me to go without the peripheral screens. Still, the eye candy is nice! To the OP - no regrets at all, as I need the three screens (five, actually - with a networked Thinkpad and additional 23" screen) for work. But you really just can't go wrong with the one main screen, along with TIR and a nice HOTAS. As you can see, pretty much everyone here will agree with that.
  3. I'll just throw a +1 at understanding how HOTAS commands work in this sim, as well as understanding SOI and SPI. And welcome to the money pit!
  4. I'll tell you, I have an Eyefinity setup with three 22" monitors and I am REALLY considering going back to using just one. Maybe two, with MFDs exported to a second. The immersion of a triple-screen setup is great, but frankly, it does nothing for situational awareness that TIR doesn't already. Also, it eats frames. I'd say stick to one large screen and maybe a second for panel exporting. Good luck!
  5. "They're definitely holding something...yeah, they've got vuvuzelas." "Cleared hot."
  6. It's the JDAM's power supply. edit: got pew-pew'd
  7. Are you not using PAC? It makes life a lot easier (for the Hog pilot, not the other guy).
  8. Hey, Dragon - Does your mission pack support 1.1.0.9 yet? Thanks!
  9. No worries! I don't take matter-of-factness personally...
  10. Awesome, thanks for the clarification, Slacker. Found the video, as well.
  11. By which, I take it, you mean that it is different IRL?
  12. It was my understanding that, as slant angle increases, Area Track becomes less accurate, as it is not "seeing" the object you are targeting but the ground beyond. At acute slant angles, this could place your SPI quite a ways away from the intended target. I could swear that either Wags or Tyger had a video of this up on YouTube...
  13. Nice work! Unfortunately, this appears to be a Norwegian or Swedish (or...???) ISO layout, so I can't really use it. /sad GAU-8
  14. 1km, really? Wow, that's awful close.
  15. *shakes fist at EtherealN*
  16. Same here - upgraded GPU and RAM, then bought two more screens, TMWH and rudder pedals, TM MFDs, TIR5, a Controlpad...good grief! And all without a second thought.
  17. No problem - I think I've got the basic idea right, but wouldn't mind being corrected on this issue. Also, I think that most folks would tell you that 8-10 seconds is ideal, but in the end, whatever works for you is best!
  18. That's the thing, the longer your lase time, the more likely your munitions will fall short. The LGB wants to fly to the pointer. As lase time increases, your LGB's trajectory gets flatter. There is a great graphic somewhere that explains this pretty clearly, but I can't seem to find it. Here is my awful attempt to duplicate it:
  19. These are conditions, not actions. These are items that just need to be met with an answer of "TRUE" for you to effectively lase your target. You generally will not be ready to lase a target if at least the first three weren't true already. Note that the previous condition is to be airborne...:pilotfly: Unless the code changes mid-mission or conflicts with another flight, it is usually entered during start-up. In general, it is already entered for you, 1688 being the default as mentioned above.
  20. I guess the question here is...what's the right way to set this up?
  21. I have tried this so many times - once I call contact, the JTAC has nothing to add other than "Well, what are you waiting for? Kill 'em!"
  22. Outstanding sim and equally outstanding community. I bought DCS A-10C on a whim and could not be happier!
  23. Think of the crosshairs as a top-down view of your aircraft. The cue shows the relative position of the TGP's focal point.
  24. Nice! Subscribed and rep inbound. Always happy to see a new CDU tutorial - so much to know about it! It might be worth it to take another pass at a "clean" version, but sometimes it's good to see things as they are thought through.
