    Trimmer sound

That is what I initially thought. But when I ran the sim after changing the files, only one sound was playing when I press or depressed the trim button.
  2. I am trying to redo the trimmer sounds, and I hit a snag. Maybe someone here can help me. The problem is that although there are two sounds in the Sound directory the sim uses only one of them (trimmerclickhold.wav). I would like to make two different sounds for when you press and when you depress the trimmer button. I tried to make one file sound, but that is just awkward. Anyone here knows how to make the sim to accept use of trimmerclickrelease.wav?
  3. Maybe you should watch the producers notes and/or read the manual.
  4. I understand perfectly. By any chance do you know what is the file with the engine parameters? :D Recently I`ve flown with two different Mi-17s. One is a VIP version and one is cargo. Both of them have engines set for heavy lifting. OAT was +30C, wind calm. The VIP helo had 11 pax (this helicopter has 3 armchairs and a couch for 8 people, fridge, microwave oven, WC, air-conditioning - the empty weight is quite heavy), and the cargo helo (standard 1 bench + 915L extra fuel tank) ~15 pax. On both flights in both helicopters I`ve looked at the engine parameters. Idle temp ~620C, at a cruise speed of 150km/h, at 100m AGL, weight conditions from above the engine temperature in both helicopters were ~720C. During take off and landings the engine temp reached ~820C. I`ve inserted "~" sign because both engines don`t operate identical, there was a difference of ~40C between left engine temp and right one. @mvsgas: I usually fly at 25-30C, or at what temp is set the mission/campaign.
  5. Although I have an engineers degree in helicopters I work on Boeing 737, but my father works on Mi-8/17. I browsed his manuals and spoke with him about engine temperature during normal operations of TV3-117VM. From when I started BS for the first time I`ve noticed that the engines are a little bit hot. Is there a way to cool them down, to make them operate at 7-800C?
  6. I`m not sure if this was discussed, but aren`t the engines operating a little bit hot. I monitor engine temp on all my flights and it never drops bellow 880C, but operate at around 950-960C. Usually a TV3-117VM operates at 720-780C, TV3-117MT is 20-30C cooler than VMs. I know the Ka-50 has TV3-117VMA, but it`s hard for me to believe that between these models the difference between engine temp is that high. Also please take note that the engine limiters will start limiting when engine temp reaches 990C. I don`t operate on emergency power, if anyone want's to ask (only 2 Page Ups after engine start up and idle) and usually I fly at ~220km/h, outside temp is ~30C.
  7. OK, so I'm wrong.
  8. Maybe I'm wrong, but I knew that only the download version is restricted with a number of activations. The DVD version can be installed on as many machines you like. But, as I said, I may be wrong. I have the download version.
  9. I have it installed on my Acer 5920G lappie. It has a Intel Core 2 Duo at 1.8GHz, 2Gb of RAM, GForce 8600M GT and WinVista Home Premium. It works like a charm.
  10. +20 for Mi-24
  11. So: You can make 80 cycles (lasing+range) of 10 seconds each with a pause between two consecutive cycles of 5 seconds. After 80 cycles you have to take a 30 minutes laser pause. Right?
  12. Excuse my ignorance, but what is a "serie" and what is a "cycle"?
  13. Speaking of flight dynamics. Anyone tried to hover near a stationary Ka-50? The blades of the stationary Ka-50 do not react to the downdraft from the Ka-50 hovering near by. On the other hand, the blades from the stationary Ka-50 will react to the environmental wind.
  14. Only when hit by a missle. Otherwise: none is capable of that.
  15. Let's assume we have a super computer. No pause.
  16. Has anyone thought what would happen with the helicopter if you keep the Black Shark (I mean the game/program/simulation) running for let`s say 1-2-3 weeks or more? And in this period fly each day 1-2 hours and after you end the flight don't shut down the program, just leave the simulation running with the helicopter powered off on the platform. I`m thinking that if the program simulates so many systems and their interaction with the surrounding environment, keeping the simulation going on for a long period of time, the helicopter might behave like a real machine. In time different system might fail. Has anyone tried this? What are the devs thinking about this? Could this happen? I would try it, but my BS is on my lappy and I cannot keep it on for that long period of time.
  17. Main rotor is spinning in the wrong way (see 2nd pic).
  18. Not every member of this forum is an aircraft engineer (see the CIVV/IGV or FOHE). I can start also (I`m an aicraft engineer also) and no one will understand a thing. :smartass: Gearbox is on top of the engine for easy access. Remember, that these engines (different variant) are used on the Mi-17/24 or Ka-32 which have the engines installed on top of the fuselage.
  19. It has an autopilot. It doesn`t need pilots:joystick:
  20. Not quite spoiled. In reality you can`t see the refresh rate. Maybe you can see it in the corner of your eye when you`re looking left or right out of the window.
  21. Yes, it`s from the filming. The HUD projector has a refresh rate because it`s a cathode ray tube. It`s something like filming your old cathode ray tube monitor. Speaking of trimming...why there wasn't included in the sound pack the sound of the trimmer?
  22. This increases the torque. Torque is what turns the helicopter....yaw movement. So...I don`t think this is the answer he`s searching for. Keep searching :music_whistling::thumbup:
  23. Rotor pitch.
  24. Mi-8 besides being used as a transport helicopter, can also be used for attack. About the manuals...I have neither of them, I mean what you said. I have the manuals used by our pilots. Unfortunately they`re in my language and they`re translated from the original Russian ones. I have them because my father has them because he`s a flight engineer on Mi-8/17. Off-topic: I work on the Boeing 737...in case ED wants to make one :D
