I wouldnt buy an LCD from newegg, their return policy for those is really shitty. (can only return for 8 or more dead pixels) buy a dell screen. heck for that much I'd buy the 2405 (they are having a sale and those go for around $750, and thats 24" widescreen gaming @ 1900x1200) and PLEASE, get a QUALITY PSU, you buy decent hardware and skimp on the most important part? DONT!! I recommend this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817711002 (or go with the 600W if you can afford it.) Also, dont buy an FX, it's such a waste... DO you know how to overclock? (if you do, I'd pick up an opteron150 single core, or a 165/170 dualcore, look at my opteron, faster then the FX60) and if you dont overclock, buy a 4000+ and use those $500 you are saving for a second 7900GTX and do SLI.. -another thing, if you dont overclock dont buy a watercooling system, just get a decent hsf w/120mm fan just IMO, but whatever floats your boat

Dont fire your AIM120 if there is a friendly between you and the bogie (I found out the hard way) lol..

Hey, Just wondering if anyone here ever used this for LockOn, and if you guys have a profile for LockOn that you'd share? These last few days I 've been buying a bunch of hardware, I guess I was bored. (7900GTX, G15 keyboard, N52 speedpad, and my TIR4 today.) But anyway, lets get to the chase... Does anyone here use the speedpad, and if so do you guys have profiles for it? thanks.

I dont know you, but.. -IRL strobes do work in aircraft -IRL you dont have transparent trees -IRL you'd blackout if your couch/chair leaned 30° while you swing it around to get your doughnut -IRL planes have fire extinguishers -IRL there is no "RCVR" -IRL shadows are not blocky -IRL pilots arent as stuck up ;) -IRL your wife/GF does not shout "get your damned ass here, dinner is getting cold" (In Real Life people dont say "IRL") in a GAME, we do :p etc..

this is still a game, right? we do these things because we enjoy them.,even if taken seriously. But it's cool.if he doesnt want to fly, not a problem. I respect his reasons. To me, this is a game and it should be just about fun. to each his own.

Maybe you should qote my last post :p But I know your pain. (im not a lefty, but...) a few years back, when I played FPS in a console I got used to the legacy setup back in the days of N64 and Goldeneye. Now a days with modern consoles and FPS games, developers are getting really pushed or lazy and dont include the legacy southpaw setup. (where opposite sticks are used to look and walk around) so It's been a pain. The latest offender was GR:AW in 360, So I know how it is. as far as a fully designed "lefty" stick, I think you are out of luck, but if I was you. I'd simply mold my own and use the insides to retrofit the custom made one. (what I did was swaped the internal wiring in one of my 360 controllers so that I could have a permanent southpaw layout, and not worry about game configs) PS: I see why you have Hilary Clinton in your avatar now..

the spacing also varies by motherboard. Some boards cram the cars a bit, while others are slightly farther appart. but yes, it works fine (even with dual slot coolers)

I agree, but.. read my post, and the article.. Not AA (anti-aliasing) they are equal, but they do for AF (anisotropic). I personally like ndidia's AA better because it combines both supersample AA and multisample AA. I think the main reasoning still stands, if you want dual cards and best possible performance go NVIDIA, if you want best AA (and less framerate hit) go ATI. Good thing is that both have transparent AA as well. there's also what I listed about power, temp, noise, etc.. PS: my previous card was a 6800GT, but before that a 9800pro (I'm no fanboy of either, I go where "performance/features that interest" me are)

Thats only to display SLI rendering, and can be turned off ;) Evil, As far as anti-aliasing, there is really no difference in image quality. (specially doing 8xS) Both ATI's and NVIDIA's are great. SLI in LockOn is ONLY good for (SLI-AA) nothing else. Now, Anisotropic Filtering is a different matter. Normally both are pretty close (when set to HQ in the cp) However, if you enble non angle independant AF, ATI's is better, since NVIDIA doesnt do angled surfaces as well. The latest and greatest from them (X1900XTX) is noisier, hotter, more power hungry etc (and crossf-dire is not even close to SLI) simple choise for me really.. In the end, I think the conclusion is easy. Lock on is a nice looking game, even today (as long as you stay off the ground) hehe. -Mods: The only mods I have are "blue AF" and 2046 skins.
