  1. i agree. although there could be something wrong with the computer, i suspect the Video card is the weakest link. Not a very good card :( FC2 should run way better than LOMAC.
  2. hmmmmm, try restarting your computer and the first thing you do is to start the game and see the performance, if its higher I wonder if there is some kind of memory leak. i had a memory leak when i first installed windows 7, but i have 64 bit. with those settings i would only think you can fly on medium to low settings but you should hopefully get more than 15. when you run the game have your windows task manager open on the performance tab and look at your page file usage history, if its a huge amount then yo might have some kind of memory leak. the memory leak that i had was something to do with my sound card driver...... if you have that or not we'll go from there. but for now see if there is a memory leak, there is also an FPS fix for the game that cuts down long distance LOD settings. i'll find that fix. Edit here is the FPS tweak, http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=51339 try that.

Hello was just wondering if there is any file i can change a value on for the smoke time on the WP rockets? finding targets is inCREDIBLY much harder now (which i like!) but when flying with my buddies i mark targets. and here is the process at which i mark targets.... for example, my squad mate attacks a target, blows it up and then i tell him, "ok i have a new target look for smoke south of the previous target! marking now!".... I then mark the target as my squad mate is turning around and he says. "Gray i dont see it?" and i say "its to the south of that last target, follow the river its about 150 meters west of the river." and AS I say that the smoke runs out! i aint kidding its that quick! any way of changing? WP's should burn quite a long time and i think that they would burn longer than 10 SECONDS :cry::joystick: btw fantastic job on the new game! i love it! i REALLY love how convoys and or armor emplacements dont just bend over when we fly in like they did in FC1 :P they will fight back with whatever they have to shoot you with! that is just AWESOME!!!1

  8. I Agree with you EtherealN. all i was trying to point out that it would not work for the A-10's gun to be able to be slewed around at that high rate of fire putting out that much recoil on such a comparably small airframe. thats all :)
  9. yes but look at the size of the cannon on the AC130 and look how BIG the AC130 is?!? and compare that to the size of the GAU-8 and look at the size of the A-10? to me it looks like the Gau-8 is bigger or the same size than that cannon on the AC130, if you compare it to the picture beside the Volkswagen. when the Gau 8 is fired is has a big impact on the speed of the A-10 because of the sheer amount of lead and THRUST that the gun puts out (or recoil) ESPECIALLY when the rate of fire is 4200 rounds per min... if that gun was off axis or able to be "Slewed" it could cause the plane to go out of control, or if not go out of control, it would cause the pilot to input an incredible amount of control adjustment to compensate for the massive act of force on the aircraft and it would be a comPLETELY inaccurate piece of weaponry. the lack of common sense people have amazes me. Comparing a howitzer on the AC130 with the rate of fire of 5 rounds per min (low thrust) with a Gau-8 with the rate of fire of 4200RPM (high thrust) and on a aircraft many times smaller than that of the AC130, it is not comparable. the Howitzer may be a much bigger round but until it can be fired at a comparable thrust to the Gau-8 on the A-10, the AC-130 will easily be able to handle that size gun, if not bigger.

  11. try hitting the "\" key and try setting up your payload through the ground crew window. some missions want you to set up your own payload or even some online multiplayer servers spawn you without a payload to give you a headache :P

Try staying at a farther range in order to let the vikkr have time to straiten out more. the only time my vikkr ever misses is if i'm too close or i'm sidestepping to much and the vikkr can not find the laser since it is a "beam riding missile" and doenst just have a seeker on the nose, it has the seeker in the tail. the vikkr is much like a zip line :P

Absolutely! one thing that i think of from your post weasel, is a conversation i had with a group of buddies of mine in 3rd squad back in the day when the first ArmA was what all the fuss was about.... the conversation was about, what if there were 2 games such as ArmA for its incredible ground combat and infantry simulation, and another game like Black Shark for its incredible helicopter simulation.... Who had the same network code and map for multilayer online where if i wanted to play as a infantry man on the ground fighting my brains out i could hop into a game like ArmA and a buddy of mine could support from the air theoretically in a sim like black shark. just mentioning these games as an example of what could be in the future. as to where instead of one inCREDIBLY taxing game to simulate everything known to man and every scientific equation representing the physics of flight and bullet travel wind and everything.... you could have 2 games split the taxing power where each game could both be intertwined in its network code. where if you hop in the helo portion of the sim you will see your buddies on the ground as slightly less detail as the ground grunt in the other game would see his buddies next to him, because the helo sim is meant to represent helo simulation of course, and fighting above and along side of your friends who might be in the ground combat portion of the game. something like that could be really interesting. anyway there's my fantasy someday 2 cents for the day :P
  15. i was not complimenting on any kind of lack of realism or detail, ArmA 2 is absolutely incredible!!! I am just a bit frustrated that the game is not optimized well and a few years ago i spent a fortune on this rig i have now. take a look at the first ArmA, game release there was no optimization and with how many patches later it is light years ahead of where it began. my system is a really good system, its not the BEST system of course but i think my system should be able to get above 25 frames per second with everything on low? they have engineered a game where only the rich can play?!?
  16. no matter what i do i cant get above 25 frames per second :( and i have 4 gigs of ram an ATI 3870 and an intell C2D 3ghtz E8400 :cry: its unplayable even with my machine? heavily optimized? i think not! BI does not no how to optimize themselves out of a cardboard box! Bad video drivers or something? i am at a loss.
  17. its all about technique when flying this choppa. i agree with Viper, an experienced pilot can slam that chopper around and make it do whatever. the trick is to drop collective when you want to do a crazy move. like i can go max speed drop the collective and bank as hard as i can and then ad collective after i have flexed the rotors with my crazy move. i can go from 280kmph to a dead hover in 4 seconds. loops, barrel rolls its all possible. I love the choppa :D yes it could have better weapons but it really does the job well IMO.

  20. this game is absolute console crap if you ask me :( No track IR no join on progress as stated above. i cant even play with people from Europe? YOU CANT EVEN LEAN AROUND CORNERS!!!!! you cant use the mouse while in a vehicle to look around. The graphics dont impress me at all. the field of view is terrible. yea i'll be sticking with ArmA 2 as well. they took the great OFP name and took a dump ALL over it :(
  21. I should have the DFA server up again this weekend. the router where the server is at took a dump. there was a power outage and the router never was able to turn back on :\ new one is hooked up and DFA should be back up soon :)

  23. ZaltysZ i really hope that fixes it :) its good so far. i'll check again here in a bit... But. i'm thinking since Black Shark is the only game with this issue it must have some kind of computability issue with the net code and they way routers handle it. Because for 2 years on and off i was able to host lockon on the same port no issues. hmmm
  24. So far it appears to be staying on 10308.... we'll see how long it stays like this. hopefully forever :) but after all i've been through i'll believe it after its been on 10308 for a few days :P
