  1. Wow cheers for the fast reply! I am confused now, you say "FC3 is not installed/activated at this point, even though it might appear like it is.", however if that is the case then what is the point of the beta module at all, and furthermore why have there been videos and such posted of the new content?
  2. Hey Nate, would I be able to get some clarification regarding this? I patched up DCS World and downloaded the beta module without actually purchasing it, as I was concerned about the issues regarding owning Lock-On etc. I managed to get it installed and I was not prompted for a serial. I was then able to start up missions which again did not prompt me for a serial, and I had the same encounter as dooom, whereby I had the plane flying but no cockpit whatsoever. I also tried to runfc3_protect 1 & 2, which did nothing useful. Once I buy FC3, where do I enter the serial, and how will that affect the cockpit problem?
  3. Hi there jakebwallace, unfortunately the Australian store has no listing of any Lock-On titles. I was wondering if you would be willing to help me out and purchase it for me from you end, to save me the excess time and costs of shipping a physical copy. Obviously I'll cover the transaction cost up-front via pay-pal or the like. Post back in here or via PM if you're willing to help out.
  4. Ok, well before I do anything silly, can you confirm that "Lock On Air Combat Simulation" is the only extra thing I will need to purchase before I can play Flaming Cliffs 3?
  5. I can't see LOMAC in there however, just "Lock On Air Combat Simulation" Can you grab me a direct link to it?
  6. If I purchase from lockon.co.uk can I have that shipped to Aus?
  7. Me and about 4 others are DCS World players, and are interested in getting FC3. However the requirement of owning LOMAC looks to be quite problematic, as it's not in any local stores and I can't find it anywhere online. What are our options?
  8. Whatever do you mean?
  9. Thanks for the reply! I'll be sure to give it another go using Yo-Yo's method. Another thing, I am struggling to find information regarding the warm air / cold air leavers, and when you would change them. Currently I always leave them at full, and changing them in a hot / cold environment didn't seem to effect things.
  10. Last night I had a shot at starting the P51 in a simulated 'hot day', where the ambient temperature was quite high, using one of the summer templates. I found that in these conditions, I was unable to get the engine started. So I figured it would be a good chance to ask on what to do, as well as giving others an opportunity to share their knowledge regarding the P51D and different environmental conditions. So fire away!
  11. Hi all, Me and a few others were going for a general flight to practice keeping formation and such, and began to wonder what interesting sights may lie around the world. So far we have pretty much stuck around Batumi and the surrounding areas, and have decided to have a look in other sectors for some interesting sights. So I though it might a good idea to get a thread going where people can share interesting locations, we'll be sure to post whatever we stumble across, but if anyone knows of any good ones, such as large bridges, power plants or hidden airports, post away!
  12. I have a quick question regarding fuel selection, I flew a 40 minute run on a starting tank of 80%. Just as I was approaching for landing my engines cut out, and I realized I was out of fuel. I crash landed and that went fine, however I completely forgot about the tank selector and was wondering if when the engines cut out, if there was any fuel left in the tanks? Or does it automatically start feeding from them when the selected one goes empty?
  13. Just to be clear, I know the difference between the normal side roll which everyone encounters, and completely uncontrollable roll which I was getting. My first posts were in reference to the uncontrollable roll (since been corrected), and my later post was in reference to how trying to counter that taught me bad habits in flying in the fixed environment.
  14. I played quite a bit of 1.2.1 last night, and thought I would post in the event anyone else is encountering the problem. There was definitely a problem with the left roll in 1.2.0, however it is still possible to encounter similar issues in 1.2.1 due to pilot error. When heading down the runway for takeoff, even if you are perfectly down the center and at the correct speed you will encounter severe and uncontrollable roll if you pitch up to severely. In 1.2.0 it was almost the opposite (in my experience), you had to pitch extremely hard to gain any control at all, however this still ended in a fireball most of the time. This conditioned me to pitch in the same manner in 1.2.1, which is a habit I had to break to reach a successful take-off. I'm now taking off with a full weapons load-out and 75% fuel with no issues at all!
  15. Woo awesome! Thanks for that guys.
  16. Update: I just did an hour long session with my friend, and after finishing we tried to save the track but neither of us could find where to save it! Any tips on saving tracks from multiplayer sessions?
  17. Thanks for all of the interest thus far! cichlidfan: I had though of that, and I checked and rechecked but they are all disabled. Unless they are implicitly re-enabled for the training mission without our knowledge. dooom: I am using a Thustmaster HOTAS Warthog, and my friend is using an X52-Pro. Also aircraft speed does not seem to be an issue. It gets to the stage where the plane is so fast it lifts itself however the roll scrapes the wing along the ground and thats it. Echo38: The mission we were attempting it in each P51 had 50% fuel. In the training mission the aircraft has 68%. Also, game flight and avionics modes are enforced to OFF, and the g-effects forced to SIM. WildBillKelsoe : I'll post a track of us taking off in a couple of hours, we'll do a few trials from a number of airbases. For the record the airbase in question was Gelendzhik, with no wind or weather effects. On another note, my friend claims to have fixed the issue in my absence, and has been taking off with ease on another server. This leads me to believe that it may be an airbase issue, or a server related problem. Thanks again, I'll post the track in a few hours!
  18. Hi all, I come with an issue that myself and a friend have been encountering, regarding the P51-D and takeoff. To cut a long story short, we spent about 3 hours and 50 planes each in a multi-player server hosted by myself, trying to make a successful takeoff. We know all the theory behind it, and can do it with ease in the training mission, however when attempted on the server, each takeoff resulted in failure. The cause of the failure is that as soon as the plane gets off the ground, the left wing (Always left, regardless of wind) would dip down as hard as it good, and no amount of rudder and aileron trim + stick input can keep it level. This is compounded by the plane yawing to the left quite hard, making the aircraft spin out of control on 2 axis. After our three hour session, we loaded up the training mission and had a go, and each of us had a successfully takeoff on our first attempt. Then, back into the server and we could not get one off the ground. 10 aircraft each later we decided it was time for a forum rant, so here it is. Basically I was wondering if anyone else has encountered the issue, or if there is something we are both doing wrong. A couple of notes: 1 - After unbinding all of the trim commands, I succeeded in taking off within the server on my first attempt. Any attempts after this however resulted in the same issue. 2 - When using the F2 camera, I have noticed that the left wheel (left side always goes down) clips though the runway a little, whereas the right side is perfectly stable. I understand the game is in beta, but I can't see anyone else having this issue so we are wondering if it is pilot error. Thanks for the read, I'll upload a track tomorrow if anyone is interested.
  19. I have no idea what the content is saying, but I do have a question > Why do those screenshots look so 'soft'? It's a really nice effect, is that some in-game filter or have they been touched up?
  20. I've got a bit of an approach I use, not sure how 'correct' is is but I'll post it anyway. Basically my first move is to try and get a visual orientation as to where friendly forces are engaging the enemy so I know how close I am to AA threats when I go in. Then I'll usually give the area a scan with the TGP and have a look for prominent threats and try to deal with them. Then, unless the primary objective is urgent I'll contact a JTAC if available and request a tasking, as the JTAC will usually have some info regarding threats in the vicinity. Once I've got the tasking i'll either eliminate the threats, or complete my objective while avoiding them. A final method is to hit the LSS OSB of the TGP, which will slew it to any unit being painted, and i've found several sneaky SAMS this way. I'm sure there's a better approach, but its a start. Looking forward to seeing some replies from the experts :)
  21. What do you mean by 'depressible pipper'? I don't quite understand the term in context. Pretty nifty either way though!
  22. Silly me lol, completly forogt TS3 supports multiple hotkeys. Now I've simply bound mic switch to teamspeak and it works fine. Thanks again for all the help!
  23. I don't mind having target running, that's pretty normal for joystick software. However unless I explicitly open the target window and manually run the script, my keybind is in-excessible. I'm trying to find a way to have it run by default or the like.
  24. Attached is a screenshot of how I made the bind. For it to take effect I have to press 'run configuration' which reinitialize the joystick and throttle, and opens a 'script running' window. Is this the wrong way? http://i.imgur.com/4Dll2.jpg
  25. Ok, thanks for that, i'll get straight to updating them. I did take it for a quick flight before work, and I must say it was amazing. I really can't get over the level of quality of this thing. One more question, I wanted to set the leaver button at the base of the stick to be my Teamspeak3 bind, however the bind only takes effect while I am 'running the script' so to speak. Is there a way to get it to default to my script or something like that?
