  1. Now it is up to LOGIRich to take this back to Logitech and update us on wether or not any action will be taken. Remaining silent will speak volumes to the community. I’ve worked in sales and if there is one thing that echoes in forums and on the net, it is bad reviews. “The evil men do lives beyond them while the good is oft interred with their bones” - Mark Antony, Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar
  2. OK so moving forward and so LOGIRich has something to take back to Logitech, here are the issues everyone complains about in general: - inconsistent throttle stiffness that cannot be addressed unless the throttle is dismantled. - useless throttle tension knob - a noticeable amount of looseness in the center of the stick. - no real weight to both throttle and stick (this again requires you dismantle both units if you want to add weights) - rotator knobs on the throttle are loose and lack a solid feel. My opinion but other than these flaws this product functions quite well. For 375 taxes in, yes I expect better quality. If all these issues were fixed then I’d gladly feel like the price point properly reflects the value of the X56
  3. No one is barraging him. He is the liaison for Logitech which means he is the representative to the community for Logitech. Some customers are clearly frustrated and understandably some even want to return the X56 so, yes, it is his job to provide some sort of support to the customer and either offer tips or direction to the proper resource to assist. If you're happy with your product then fine but don't demonize those that are not. and for anyone that doesn't think it's LOGIrich's job to represent Logitech here amongst the DCS community then ask yourself this; Why did he even start this thread?
  4. LOGIRich, With the exception of just one person saying the throttle is too loose on the x52, Pro and the X56 I have seen nothing but complaints about how STIFF it is. Come on man, we’re not stupid. We ACTUALLY USE your products in real life so we see and feel how good or bad it is and the reality is that the throttle is inconsistently stiff and that joke of a tension knob does jack squat to the tension. Taking it apart to fix it VOIDS the warranty so it’s basically Logitech saying; “You’re screwed if you use it as is and you’re screwed if you try to fix it." That’s not right at all.
  5. Just sent this message to LOGIRich You have some frustrated customers here who would like some answers. Realize that by remaining silent you impress upon the community Logitech’s “commitment” to customer service and how loyally you stand behind your products. Where are you?
  6. He probably ran off into the sunset because his Logitech HOTAS stopped working.
  7. Not a typo but then again, not Logitech https://www.amazon.ca/Mad-Catz-Control-SCB440420002-02/dp/B003BXVIQS
  8. Googling it now. Looks like it’s a typo so far.
  9. This explains the drop in price for the X56. And I agree. Knowing how Logitech works they will most likely use the same guts and change the overall appearance to look more Warthog-ish thereby not really fixing anything. That’s fine as I already have the X56. But I imagine the asking price for the X65 will be unjustified considering the minimal changes they will make to quality.
  10. I flew Falcon 4.0 and it's modified version for a few years and then tried Janes F-18 and the avionics were quite similar. The UFC is not all that different and the weapons systems are very similar so the transition in terms of learning the weapons systems and avionics won't be that bad. You just have to process it all with an open mind. Who cares which one is better. REALLY? are you guys gonna get into a pissing contest over that?
  11. That's why I said "For the most part". No one said anything about the avionics and weapons systems being totally identical. This is my opinion as I've flown both Falcon 4.0 BMS and DCS F-18, MY opinion. Not saying it's yours, nor am I saying you're wrong.
  12. Nope. The F-18 is the carrier based version of the F-16. The avionics and weapons systems for the most part, are the same.
  13. Lol probably because the TM warthog is more expensive than many are willing to pay. For me the price difference isn’t justified...... yet. Marketing 101. Low price creates a demand. And this product is the lowest priced HOTAS with the biggest bang. By the way, the throttle adjustment on mine *seems* to work but even with the tension all the way down, the grease on the rails is what makes it super stiff. YouTube it and you’ll see the fix. I might do this fix tonight.
  14. I agree with all the gripes of the last two posts but for me, it’s better than my X52 with its crappy rudder potentiometer thingie. For the record, there’s a YT video on how to fix the stiff throttle and the dead spot fix is not that bad
  15. I think it also came down in price. The ones sold on amazon.ca 6 months ago went from 379 to 429. I recently purchased mine for 329.99
  16. Same here. Cam in a few days ago and it's puuurty but will take some time to get set up. Hate the profile software and prefer to just do it through DCS.... Has anyone had any issues with JUST using DCS and not the profile editor?
  17. I got ya bro!!! I made this video 2 weeks ago and it has the latest method. This method allows you to see the carrier so you know where to place the aircraft as well as point them in any direction you want. Enjoy ;)
  18. There's a video on YT somewhere demonstrating the issues with Tacan but it's probably over a year old so it might not be accurate anymore. Anyway, in the video it shows how you need to assign triggers to the carrier so it will keep Tacan active from one waypoint to another throughout it's entire mission. I'm just getting this off the top of my head so you'll have to watch the vid to see if this may be why you're all having issues. For the record, I'm getting the same issues.
  19. Shadow puppets :megalol:
  20. Yes!!! Nail your ground landings first and then try it on a carrier. Once you start practicing your carrier landings forget about all the rules and just try to land the plane. Once you're solid with that move to Case 1 patterns.
  21. That's why I said it works FOR *ME*. I've never had to fight the aircraft..... I just fly it in and land.. If I crash I do it differently. That's the beauty of this game. I could care less how many times I crash and for me, it's more rewarding to learn slowly than to try to perform a task while all these numbers and figures and rules are being process in my head and I'd argue this is why the OP was having such a hard time. If if doesn't work for him, he can try something else. It works for me. FTFP and have fun. Get into the nitty gritty of it later. Chuck Yeager was the most unconventional pilot of his time. Are you gonna say he was a shitty pilot just because he didn't follow proper procedure?
  22. I can only speak for myself but I just FTFP (fly the "fantastic" plane). forget about all your settings. Gear down Maintain a constant approach speed Fly the plane in and forget about the E bracket. Use thrust to stay on glide slope and fly the plane. Fly the plane. :joystick: If you concern yourself with numbers and trim settings when you're already a little burnt out you will not learn anything because you're already psyched out. It's a lot like Golf. There is a time and place for trim settings, number crunching and "proper procedure". Now is not it. All you want to do is nail your landings and there is no better way to do it than by just having fun and seeing what you and the jet can do. Beer or wine help ;) Also, you're a little spoiled with the hornet. The F-15 is super delicate and it won't accept anything less than a pristine landing along with a few other jets. With the Hornet, you can slam that sucker onto any deck and you won't have an issue.
  23. Wags made a video a few days ago to demonstrate the fixes to CCIP bombing and managed to land the bombs on target so in the exact way he did it, it should work. Is it possible you missed something when setting it up? For the record I kinda have the same issues and can't land the bombs OT. Right now I'm chalking it up to "practice practice practice"
  24. Just like the way you re-fuel in a game is completely different in real life ops.
  25. Gotcha! Thanks
