Unparked all CPU cores: Start>> Type "Registry editor" and click on the when search finds it Go to: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet Click on "Edit" >>> Click "find" and search for: dec35c318583 DOUBLE Click "VALUE MAX">>> Change whatever the number is to "0" (zero) and click OK and Exit the registry. This unparks all your MAIN cores, not your threaded cores of which you have a total of 32. Now test DCS and see if you are still getting stuttering. If you are still getting stuttering try setting the affinity in DCS to half your threaded cores. Here's how... With DCS RUNNING in the background; Bring up Task Manager Hit "Details" in the side bar on the left (I don't know where it is in Windows 10. If you do, let us know) Right click on DCS and click set affinity In the window that pops up, remove the checkmarks for the bottom half of your 32 threaded cores to disable them - hit OK. Now you've basically told windows to use only the top half of the CPU's cores which may work for you. If not, try disabling the top 16 cores while re-enabling the bottom half of your cores. Conclusion: I played around with both these settings until the stuttering went away. Now I'm getting FPS upwards of 200, no stuttering and running all my threaded and non threaded cores after re-enabling all to test. Now I'm flying with all cores running in ST and MT with no issues. All my CPU cores are not parking. Yes - windows parks and unparks automatically depending on demand (like a flight sim) but it does this on the fly which means it does it while DCS is booting up. This may be a factor in DCS not running smoothly. the CPU and memory are working hard to bring up DCS while windows is telling the CPU to unpark all cores. I know I know.... In a perfect world this should not be happening. I don't know how it works. All I know is that these two fixes FIXED my issue. Hey buddy it’s Akula from wayyyyyyyyy back when Dante douchebag was running the 169th server anyhoo; I’m running into the same issue when I press F3 for a flyby view and I see streaking off the wingtips. It’s not vortices or atmospheric effects from the game it’s definitely streaking that I started noticing after the DLSS “improvement”. So is that all I have to do? Revert back to MSAA or is there a better solution? Merry Christmas and happy new year!

Thank you everyone for the replies, This DCS install is 2 years old and has been switched from one folder to another so I think it's high time for a wipe and a complete reinstall. Not looking forward to it lol.

Thanks guys, So here is where I'm a bit confused; There's a discussion somewhere here that describes a step by step process to successfully move the saved games folder from C drive to a dedicated DCS drive which I thought I had *successfully* done. So despite this, are you all saying that Windows will never allow this? Secondly I tried placing the livery I want into every freiking F-18 folder i could respectively following other instructions thinking that sooner or later it would appear in the mission editor loadout screen or the in flight loadout screen. So far nothing. Why does DCS have so many livery folders for just one plane? So much confusion lol.

I wish it was this easy... It's not with me but it might be because I have a bunch of my Squadron mods along with 2 saved games folders (the native one in C drive can't be deleted). I followed the instructions and it still doesn't work.

Well this is interesting.. I'm having the same issue and I've never used VR (trackir ATM). So I went to VR and "Enable VR" was NOT checked so I proceeded to uncheck everything in that category. Pressed OK and DCS did a restart... OK...Weird? Back in DCS and I disabled fullscreen and DCS did a restart. That seems normal. My question here is; If VR was never enabled, why would DCS need to restart after unchecking all the boxes for VR? This leads me to believe that traces of VR functionality remain enabled even when the parent check box is unchecked. I haven't checked to see if the black screens in flight come back but I'll report on it either way after testing.

IRL, JSOWS and SLAMS would be used to disable the SAM sites. That or it's a few tanks and boots on the ground to disable the SAM threats. JSOWS AND SLAMS can be intercepted but its better than sending in a live body to deal with it.

August 2020 and I also can't "OPEN" anything. Pressing open should bring up the file explorer withing DCS but it does not. The extension of the file or where it's located has nothing to do with it. The file explorer should at least pop up. Has anyone found a fix for this?

That's all fine and dandy if you're coming back solo and there's no traffic nearby but when there are other aircraft inbound for recovery there's a bunch of other commands. Note, this was probably added after a few of the latest updates. it is August 7 2020 so more options in comms may have been added. Either way I'm just as confused. I can't get "see you at 10" when I'm inbound with a wingman or if there are other aircraft in the stack. So going off that, what is the correct order of communications. "See you at 10" is when it's just you by yourself and then it's fairly simple to communicate but it's not that easy when you're not alone.

Is ANTI SKID on? It should be on for land based airfields and off for carrier OPS Look for Anti Skid switch by your left knee around the Flaps switch

What if you JUST want to export both MFD's to a second monitor? I'm using my primary 35" with my secondary 24" on my right. Would be nice to have both MFD's blown up on my second monitor so I can see stuff easier.

I agree with Warriorx. Every time I’d zoom in or make any attempt to use the FLOLS it would distract me from the actual landing. Those who say that all you have to do is “fly the ball” and not actually FLY THE PLANE, are not being totally honest. Can’t wait to actually have it on the left of my screen.

SOLVED! The issue was MSI Afterburner and I honestly don't know why. After narrowing it down to MSI Afterburner I uninstalled and deleted all records of it form the registry using Windows 10 Manager Registry Cleaner (third party software). Then I downloaded and installed the latest Beta version of MSI Afterburner and DCS now updates normally. No other issues. :thumbup:

Hi Skatekilla, Great app, thank you but I'm having a lot of issues with updating. I even had my ISP send me another modem in case that was the issue. If I update from the icon on my desktop, the updater shows up in taskmanager but just sits there doing nothing at all. No black window comes up, no "DCS is updating", nothing. I tried resetting my TCP/IP stack as per these instructions https://www.minitool.com/news/reset-tcp-ip-windows-10.html So far nothing has worked. It's a network issue and I have opened everything to allow DCS updater to update. Totally stumped. :doh:

Hey guys..... Having a slightly similar issue. Game loads fine with full-screen either true or false so no worries there *IF* I go through the DCS.exe found in the Bin folder and NOT DCS updater.exe... If someone can take a peek at my thread and has any ideas, please let me know. I even had my ISP send me another modem and running WIFI through my Asus router. I don't think it has anything to do with full screen because I don't even get the black DCS into box with the version number. Nothing comes up unless I check task manager and see DCS updater.exe there...... doing nothing lol. I'll try it though and see if it helps. BRB....

None. I disabled everything I could think of, net wise. So far it hasn't re-occurred but we'll see.
