Nice Find! Either way, every harrier seems to have this feature, so the question is: when will we see it in DCS?
-
I doubt they have any coders left tbh... Anyway I partly blame heatblur for the MiG-21 as well, after all, many of the issues that exist have been there for years, long before the split. Heatblur could well man up and buy back the rights for the MiG-21 and finish it.

Since I bought the Harrier, I noticed that when chopping the power (after a vertical landing) the spool down time seems much longer than according to the many RL videos (also, there is a very distinctive whine that is completely lacking in DCS). Reading the manual, I found this interesting bit: So I suspect this is not included/simulated by Razbam. I looked for what IPPC-227 is but couldn't find it, maybe Razbam can shed some light on this and confirm if / when this feature will be implemented? Thanks,

Yesterday I broke off half of my left wing. Dropped all stores. I would normally expect the airplane to roll to the side of the broken wing (less lift produced on that side). Instead, the Harrier was doing exactly the opposite, with a strong roll tendency towards the healthy wing.

I'm summarizing here what I found so far by following the start-up checklist from the NATOPS manual: NOT IMPLEMENTED BRAKE PRESSURE DOESN'T CHANGE / FLUCTUATE WHEN DEPRESSING PEDALS VOLTMETER IS ALWAYS STUCK AT 27.5V AND IS NOT AFFECTED BY THE CHECK PROCEDURE ABOVE BIT PAGE NOT IMPLEMENTED BIT PAGE NOT IMPLEMENTED SAAHS NOT DISENGAGING AS DESCRIBED, ANNUNCIATOR LIGHTS DON'T TURN ON ENGINE RPM REMAIN ROCK STEADY DURING THIS CHECK, NO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT IDLE RPM AS DESCRIBED IN THE CHECKLIST (it seems as if the engine is behavior is not very dynamic here)

If I understand this correctly, pulling the paddle switch should turn off all SAS channels, at least this is what is expected during ground checks according to the NATOPS manual. With the current version, pulling the paddle switch resets the trimmer, but not the SAS (or at least the lights on the annunciator don't turn on) Reported here together with other bugs / omissions https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=220868 @Mods, if you want you can remove this post

Guys, the proof is in reality: the MiG-21 has been abandoned on every front except some art updates. Many posts have been made about obvious flaws in FM, avionics, weapons etc. I personally don't expect anything from them on the MiG-21. I think they might pull a simple aircraft like the CE2 off, and I think that's all they can offer right now and after the breakup with Heatlbur. Making a simple aircraft is actually a good move, provided they can actually deliver that to a DCS level. Of course, I consider all of this pretty bad because we all paid our hard earned cash for this, and we have an unfinished product. But this fits into a more general negative business model of > push unfinished product out in early access > get the money > move on to the next early access because the previous one stopped making revenue > no money and no motivation to actually finish what you sold. This is for all DCS modules, and as we know, unfortunately, M3 is not the only one not delivering on their promises. Beating a dead horse, vote with your wallets next time and maybe something will change.

Sounds are definitely not the strong point of this module, or Razbam in general. I hope they get vastly improved, especially considering a new bar has been set by the F-18 regarding sounds.

According to NATOPS, with flaps in STO mode, full aileron deflection shoudl make the DROOP light go dark (this is part of pe-flight checks).

This is a relevant topic IMO, surprised there haven't been more replies. One more thing to add is the reflections are not animated in a smooth way (see the video posted above): the cockpit goes from one color to the other instantly, like the frame rate of the reflection was something like 1 or 2 frames every few seconds. This is very noticeable.

Well, it has taken 5+ years, but the wingtip vortex effect looks good now!

fixed [REPORTED-MINOR] Aileron travel with flap sdown

Can devs aknowledge this? It's a pretty obvious discrepancy with RL... -
DCS open beta branch is crashign way more than usual since the last patch, the problem is, there are no crashlogs! I had a look at the file named simply "dcs" in the logs folder, and I noticed a lot of errors, for example: there are more. Any ideas? P.S. no mods, and I already run repair.

And what about the names that are on a separate layer and move around in weird ways anytime you zoom/pan? That's a major pain in the ass (and a bug). And yes, it still does it in MP no matter which options you set in the config.
-
I think the real airplanes (both A-10 and F-18 ) have actually decent automatic and semi automatic modes, that pilots can rely on. In DCS the auto modes are totally useless. The EW side of DCS is really lacking.

I was flying online with a loadout of: 6x AIM-9X 4x AIM-7MH 1 centerline tank Radar in RWS mode, with the AIM 7 selected, I locked up a target and took a shot and killed it. Suddenly the radar automatically locked another target that was nearby, I tried to unlock but was unable. I turned back 180 degrees, the radar was stuck on that target behind me, couldn't unlock. Tried switching the radar off and on, chaning ACM modes, master arm and master mode, nothing worked, the radar has been stuck at a certain azimuth and elevation for the entire duration of the flight.

It's in these situations that I find the HOTAS system in the A-10C and F-16 vastly superior to the Hornet's.

resolved Aileron behavior and effectiveness
bkthunder replied to Reflected's topic in Bugs and Problems
This bug has been around since forever. You are right, the wings flutter and the ailerons jam. This didn't happen IRL and it would be nice to have it fixed. -
Awesome, thanks

This is still happening, and it's connected to the deck pitching / banking. The higher the waves, the more you will notice it. It affects all modules and all ships in DCS, same problem with harrier on Tarawa, or landing an Mi-8 on any ship. Hope they can fix this too.

What about this? Tertiary air hatch The tertiary air hatch provides a small amount of extra thrust at low altitudes by acting a somewhat of a secondary bypass system. Additional air is pulled through the slits and join the compressed air stream. At higher airspeeds this slit is closed by the tertiary air hatch. The hatch opens and closes in about 5 seconds. The hatch is closed if the following requirements are met; » Airspeed is > Mach 0.65 » Landing gear lever position IN » Throttle < zone II afterburner
