  1. Like guys in green dancing on the deck?
  2. http://www.faa.gov/library/manuals/aircraft/media/faa-h-8083-21.pdf Direct download link from the FAA site. How about "Army Field Manual FM 1-203, Fundamentals Of Flight, 9 September , 1983". Can't find the .pdf version of it. Does someone have it? Pretty old, but I've read it's really comprehensive (both rotor & fixed).
  3. My two questions regarding the last Dev update (A-10, to be specific): 1) Since you have "the permission form the USAF to develop an entertainment version of the A-10C simulation" could you tell how much different the two products will be? Of course commercial simulator won't be as detailed as the one for the military use, but is it possible at this point to determine some major differences (e.g. because of the permission restrictions etc.)? 2) Since there will be DCS: A-10C, don't you think that release of A version in this case is somehow superfluous?
  4. Wait, wait... Are you talking about LOMAC here? Or "real life" A2A combat? IMHO: In Lock-On it can be used with success (but it's only a game in case of the aircraft that can perform Cobra, since they are lacking the AFM, AWM and so on) although it all depends on situation like you said + a little bit of luck. From the tactical point of view the Cobra is risky since your energy after performing it is gone and you are sitting ducks if you enemy is still flying. In real-life: so far only a cool air shows stunt. Combat use is pure theory/fiction right now. cheers
  5. Hahaha. It's mine movie mate. :pirate: I won't argue with ya if it's realistic. Because it's not.:megalol: More explains here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=188583 Ohh, btw these "tips" can be used in combat against armed enemies Poko. In the movie the AI planes were unarmed because they were supposed to be drones for demo purposes. :music_whistling: But I was only having some fun, that's all. Just Hollywood style baby! :smilewink:
  6. I guess the site is just overloaded because too many people are downloading the start-up video. Refresh, refresh, refresh! ;) You'll get there finally. PS. I've used Firefox.
  7. Great video. I can't wait to try this stuff for myself. :smilewink: Does anyone know what the next "Producer's Note" will be about? And how long we will have to wait for it? (a matter of days or weeks?) I'll be patient. :music_whistling:
  8. I had similar issue. But only after logging in actually. I couldn't access the video section. Try refreshing the site few times. I did so for few seconds and it worked.
  9. Thanks! I guess it some sort of super top secret cursor.
  10. Whatever it will be I'm sure that Ironhand will release some nice training videos. Always worth downloading.
  11. Thank you so much for this info. Two things: I don't quite get it. Is it: where the other guy is looking at this time? Can't find this one.
  12. http://walkarounds.airforce.ru/avia/rus/kamov/ka-50/index.htm
  13. That must be some early alpha... :sly:
  14. Mission: Destroy the Death Star. Load-out: X-Wing basic configuration Description: Fly straight ahead and shoot in the big, black sphere in front of you . . . . :joystick: Ok, seriously... What is the point of inventing and discussing missions for Hind right NOW? Mi-24 isn't even (officially) in ED's plans yet. IF it will be released, then in 2 or 3 years I guess. Based on that, this thread is like "bla bla bla" talking without any point or whatsoever... We can discuss Star Wars missions as well here... No hard feelings, just telling straight out what I think about it.
  15. Well, like they say: "There is nothing like photo of AH-64 in the family album."
  16. Ohhh. OK. Sorry. Still - if someone has some info about the fielded versions of AH-1W(/Z) using turned exhaust system post it please. These pictures are also pretty rare, I guess.
  17. Boeing or Bell? Here is the article (Italian & English): http://www.fly-net.org/aeromedia/h1exhau.html It's from June 2004. Have fielded versions of AH-1W in Afghanistan and Iraq been modded with HIRSS already ? Because according to this (old) article this process should have begun in March 2005. :hmm:
  18. Some photos of it: New exhaust for AH-64 looks awesome. Anybody has some more photos of it? Hard to find...
  19. Well, I don't know that bird... yet. But a little bunny told me that BS will introduce: crowbar, rocket launcher and a rail gun. In the next add-ons ED will add: - gravity gun - light-sabre - banana bomb :megalol:
  20. I disagree on that. You can still spot a missile visually (theoretically). Since you have no idea if it's IR or radar guided it would be smart to use both flares and chaff. Not to mention situation when you know that you are in range of radar SAM site and you know that if something is flying towards you fast, you should drop chaff. ;) Geez. No RWR, no chaff... Flying Ka-50 seems to be like sitting ducks for me now. What's next - a big bullseye painted on the board with inscription "aim here"? :megalol: Anyway thanks for the update. It looks like it will be a truly thrilling experience to fly BS. PS. If some moderator could change the topic for "Ka-50 countermeasures" or something like that, it would be great. :)
  21. What? That is some news. On the official website it says BS will have chaff. Also real-life UV-26 countermeasures wing tip pod contains chaff as well - afaik. Since it's a chaff/flare dispenser... Maybe... you've overlooked it in the keyboard layout. ;)
  22. Yes it does. The countermeasures dispensers are located on the wing tips. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=950&scr=default&lang=en ;)
  23. Yeah... nothing is sure about this conflict. Just like the myth (or fact, depends how you see it) that Hind shot down F-4 Phantom II. Some good reading: http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_214.shtml
  24. Rofl. I tried this only with some helos. And to lock one wasn't easy for me. Mainly because I had like 10 fps after turning Shkval on. You bet I'm a fighter! :pilotfly:But not a fighting whiner. :megalol: And what does "just" supposed to mean? lol Being serious: I'm just some realism fan...
  25. Even if it will be only simple "area triggers" (if you fly over area X, something nasty scrambles your way ;) ) it will be a step forward. Better this way than synchronizing everything by time in mission editor. I'm sure the missions will be more dynamic and exciting because of this feature.
