  1. This sorted me out - kudos to this pilot! Solution: 1. Unplug the Reverb completely from your computer both USB & Displayport. 2. Go to Windows Settings, Apps, then uninstall Windows Mixed Reality. 3. Reboot 4. Reconnect the Reverb And let Windows Mixed Reality get installed again. 5. Configure controllers , room size etc 6. Install Steam VR & Windows Mixed Reality for Steam if it isnt installed already. 7. Start DCS. Zero tracking issues for me now
  2. Well done - might try this for my issues with tracking.
  3. Still got problems … tried rolling back to non-beta. Reset the seated environment in that purple screen setting page several times to no avail. Wonder what it could be?
  4. Exactly my issue - re-centreing the position etc in that purple room didn’t work. Wonder if it is SteamVR beta?
  5. Hi, Occasionally in the cockpit my G2 had a bit of a fit and slews vision madly ... so presumably seems to be a tracking issue. Anyone else experiencing this lately and how could I try to solve please? Maybe it is the change of light at this time of year in the UK - except my room is well lit?
  6. Latest chipsets installed. ALL FINE My first AMD experience was with the venerable Thunderbird Athlon running at 1.4GHZ in 2001. Came from an ageing PII 300 Intel system. First self built system from components and I was bricking it. I even managed to drop a bead of sweat onto something on the board. Two hours later turned it on - and it worked! In those days that was my only PC.
  7. Hi - ran the DDU Destroyer thing and reinstalled the latest nVidia driver - which had caused me all the FPS issues. Now it's running fine!! So thank you Gripen and others for excellent suggestions. Now ... do I risk the latest AMD Chipset x570 drivers ....
  8. Thanks - will try the memtest now.
  9. Just reinstalled driver version 471.68 for the 3090 and all is well again. But it doesn't make sense: I reinstalled driver 472.12 and that made no difference, yet when 472.12 was released it worked absolutely fine on my system, but no more. Weird.
  10. I might have spoken too soon This morning reinstalled the nVidia drivers to the very latest version and bingo, problem back again. What’s more, I cannot reinstall those chipset drivers from earlier this year that I thought had fixed the problem. Tried reinstalling the Precision X1 software for the video card too, no improvement. I’m back to 16fps in the sim. What could it be? Edit: reinstalled September’s video drivers and problem still there.
  11. Every big feature always had a technology / development implication, and it’s very easy to say something couldn’t/wouldn’t/shouldn’t be done. If we all listened to that, MP would never have happened (the fragility and terrible transfer rates of data in the 90s), the ICE would never have been developed (horses were much faster and far more reliable at inception) and I dare say the wheel might not have happened (“Bert, why are you playing with that stupid stone when you could be carrying this stuff to the next settlement?”).
  12. Yes - for me the problem drivers were these: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-ryzen-chipset-3-10-08-506
  13. Do not update to the latest chipset drivers from AMD if you're running Win10! I did this as there were some tweaks plus a fix for a performance issue with Win 11 users. Big mistake. Any 3D application turned into a slide show for me, DCS World included. I reinstalled GFX drivers, went back to a previous version - nada. Fiddled with the BIOS --> zilch improvement. Then remembered the change I made a few days ago and simply went back to my Mobo company's website for the second latest drivers. Bingo -- all back to normal EDIT: IT WAS CORRUPTED VIDEO DRIVERS, PLEASE SEE POSTS BELOW.
  14. DCS, I think, uses two cores: one for sound and the other for everything else.
  15. I think ED are very serious about the globe aspect - so I think it'll happen.
  16. This patch changelog is so long it took my PC four seconds to zoom up to highlight
  17. Well, so I was in WH Smith’s this morning and found the new edition of PC Pilot is now on the shelves. Chuffed as punch to see the double two-page spread in there - even bought my own copy The magazine has a strong Microsoft Flight Simulator following so it’s great to get combat sims covered in that arena to a wider audience. Talking of which, there is also a feature on the following following pages on retro combat sims. From the screenies we’ve come a HUGE way!
  18. Exactly - I've done four hour driving stints at Le Mans in another simulator ... just depends how real you want it to be.
  19. I know this would be an uber-low likelihood scenario, but for the hard core squadrons imagine taking off from the States, tanking several times over the Atlantic etc ... then grouping up in Saudi Arabia and then prosecuting the war over that region. Or the other way to Korea if that's likely.
  20. Currently moving back and forth in a replay is a fraught process - sticky and can cause issues. Would be great to see some kind of simple editor option - timeline with the option of marking an “in” and “out” and saving just that replay clip.
  21. I’m already lost in a world of my own with what we have now! The glimpse into the future, and the challenges they bring, was great to hear.
  22. Yes, sometimes you click on that link and full article appears, sometimes not.
  23. Ah I don’t know … all I know is that it is for release is next week. Maybe someone hit the trigger too early
  24. Hi - you can purchase a one-off digital copy of the magazine
  25. Hello Everybody, Just a quick update to a post I made elsewhere about my written interview with Matt going into the next issue of PC Pilot Magazine - Edition 136. It’ll be out in a week’s time and focuses mainly on features within the simulation rather than content per se. We cover the following areas: Vulkan and multi-core implementation progress VR Dynamic Campaign progress and features Multiplayer Clouds Performance And a so-far unannounced feature under development which I am personally hugely excited about! Many thanks to Matt for taking time out to chat to me. Hope you all find it interesting!
