  1. Interested to see others’ refuelling efforts in the Viper. Can’t show mine because YT doesn’t have enough server capacity for my attempt
  2. Hi All - I listened to an excellent postcast recently on the development of the South Atlantic- think it was a few months old. Fascinating and excellent work. My one slight worry was that the developer spoke about the desire to get all the detail showing during low level helo passes … I was wondering what impact that might have on performance - and whether that impact might be felt by jet pilots. The videos look fabulous, but I wonder what degree of optimisation is done / needs to be done? I know the recent Marianna islands release from ED was quite stuttery in places, particularly in VR, before several optimisation passes were done. Thanks for all the hard work.
  3. My pure guess is 2022/23 for DC…
  4. Excellent podcast - really enjoyed it. Fascinating to hear about both teams too.
  5. Can’t wait - a highlight of the year!
  6. Love = closest thing I will ever experience to flying my beloved F-16 Hate = After this experience, always knowing that I'll never fly a real F-16
  7. BTW, any news on the HP G3? Is there even one? Apparent specs?
  8. Yes ... the 1080Ti is the weak link there... Worth mentioning: Matt has recently said that there is a massive focus on VR and in particular optimising for mid systems ... it means going through all the shaders - amongst other things - and that takes time. But be under no illusion VR is a huge focus for ED - and so it should be.
  9. Sorry, the AV-8B was replace with this RL Viper out of Aviano
  10. I love my VROptician lenses ... they have been superb. So what's this new "micro-OLED-pancake-lensed options" coming next year?
  11. Hi - another excellent video from Matt here: The question I have is how to replicate the look of that camera moving around the aircraft like that at the beginning of the video please?
  12. This sorted me out - kudos to this pilot! Solution: 1. Unplug the Reverb completely from your computer both USB & Displayport. 2. Go to Windows Settings, Apps, then uninstall Windows Mixed Reality. 3. Reboot 4. Reconnect the Reverb And let Windows Mixed Reality get installed again. 5. Configure controllers , room size etc 6. Install Steam VR & Windows Mixed Reality for Steam if it isnt installed already. 7. Start DCS. Zero tracking issues for me now
  13. Well done - might try this for my issues with tracking.
  14. Still got problems … tried rolling back to non-beta. Reset the seated environment in that purple screen setting page several times to no avail. Wonder what it could be?
  15. Exactly my issue - re-centreing the position etc in that purple room didn’t work. Wonder if it is SteamVR beta?
  16. Hi, Occasionally in the cockpit my G2 had a bit of a fit and slews vision madly ... so presumably seems to be a tracking issue. Anyone else experiencing this lately and how could I try to solve please? Maybe it is the change of light at this time of year in the UK - except my room is well lit?
  17. Latest chipsets installed. ALL FINE My first AMD experience was with the venerable Thunderbird Athlon running at 1.4GHZ in 2001. Came from an ageing PII 300 Intel system. First self built system from components and I was bricking it. I even managed to drop a bead of sweat onto something on the board. Two hours later turned it on - and it worked! In those days that was my only PC.
  18. Hi - ran the DDU Destroyer thing and reinstalled the latest nVidia driver - which had caused me all the FPS issues. Now it's running fine!! So thank you Gripen and others for excellent suggestions. Now ... do I risk the latest AMD Chipset x570 drivers ....
  19. Thanks - will try the memtest now.
  20. Just reinstalled driver version 471.68 for the 3090 and all is well again. But it doesn't make sense: I reinstalled driver 472.12 and that made no difference, yet when 472.12 was released it worked absolutely fine on my system, but no more. Weird.
  21. I might have spoken too soon This morning reinstalled the nVidia drivers to the very latest version and bingo, problem back again. What’s more, I cannot reinstall those chipset drivers from earlier this year that I thought had fixed the problem. Tried reinstalling the Precision X1 software for the video card too, no improvement. I’m back to 16fps in the sim. What could it be? Edit: reinstalled September’s video drivers and problem still there.
  22. Every big feature always had a technology / development implication, and it’s very easy to say something couldn’t/wouldn’t/shouldn’t be done. If we all listened to that, MP would never have happened (the fragility and terrible transfer rates of data in the 90s), the ICE would never have been developed (horses were much faster and far more reliable at inception) and I dare say the wheel might not have happened (“Bert, why are you playing with that stupid stone when you could be carrying this stuff to the next settlement?”).
  23. Yes - for me the problem drivers were these: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-ryzen-chipset-3-10-08-506
