Well done Reaper One, your stepping into the realm of dealing with the foibles of human relationships, so i offer some advice that i know people running some Squadrons dont understand : dont be 'Anal Retentive' to the point of dictatorial , remember its just a sim / game, if your going all the way and setting up a Squadron website dont use your sudden found power to 'spy', or 'eavesdrop' on members private messages or conversations. Just remember to be fair , firm and friendly. And the minute you start to feel paranoid that you are imagining personal slights and inventing mutinies its time to quit. Some people are just not capable of understanding the meaning of leadership or command. Apart from that have fun mate and good luck.

[DCSW: Mi-8MTV2] English Cockpit Mod
Strut replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Well done Devrim, dont know what the previous post is on about, but great work, and thanks very much. -
Have just uploaded the Kiwi logbook to DCS that Aussieboy and i have finished. Hopefully it wont take long to be approved by the modderators. There is a JSGME pack and a manual install folder included. Have fun Kiwi's. Instruction for install on ReadMe. Description: The RNZAF logbook mod for displaying New Zealand as a country in DCS Logbook selector and a selection of various NZ Squadrons, extant decorations and rank Slides. Mod constructed by Aussieboy and Strut. A gift to the Kiwi's from "Australian modders" :)

Well I have spent the last few hours looking at the latest changes to the Huey and especially the Australian logbook, ive got to say that at the least im disappointed that the Australian logbook turned out the way it did. When Aussieboy and i had the Australian logbook mod finished, there was a delineation between RAAF and Australian Army Aviation, the Army Rank slides unfortunately have been left out. Anyway for the Australians out there i suggest we wait till they fix the skins then go back to the Australian Logbook mod rather than the in game one, that is if you wish to fly Australian Army Aviation Corp. The NZ logbook mod will be out soon for the Kiwi's. I dont speak for Ausseboy here , these are my opinions. When i was asked if DCS could use our mod, i understood that both the RAAF and Australian Army components would not be kept separate, so this has obviously not allowed the use of both rank slides.

Chizh, i was waiting on Aussies reply to me on email, but going on his reply to you above this post i think he would approve, as far as im concerned your most welcome to use the logbooks, thank you for asking. I will send you an email ASAP. There is a niggling little edit that i would like to complete on the logbooks before you use them.

Biba I wasn't going to post in answer to you, but because you have threatened to eat one of the animals on my country's Coat of Arms ( yes we do shoot them ) and refer to your brother who apparently is down here, who, if he was down here long enough would understand concepts like sarcasm, humour and things like “tongue in cheek”. I think I need to let you in on a very old and very English tradition when writing and speaking in “English” because your obviously having a lot of trouble trying to answer or make a point in cognisant English, not the version your putting up here in this post. Firstly, its a must that you have a sense of humour when considering to post. You should also have a thick skin and having a fragile disposition is not encouraged. Secondly, if your going to write something dont use Google to translate for you, or you will find yourself in this similar situation most times. Thirdly, Sunshine is very good for you and provides lots of benefits like Vitamin D its essential for strong bones, muscles and good health. And lastly, you need to listen too, and understand when people who have real life, practical, first hand knowledge on certain subjects make comment. As to being able to deflect anything off water it is very possible, another example was the “Bouncing Bomb” designed by Barnes Wallis to bounce off water and destroy dam walls in the Ruhr Valley during WW2.

Thats the problem identified , your obviously lacking, eat a steak, or a lamb chop, you may even find your thought patterns are adjusted back to normal. So all i can really say after reading this thread is that you need a quiet and gentle pat on the cranium.:D

Thanks J7G, will make it easier.

My previous post on this still stands, i find the FTP concept a con, but a friend of mine asked me to come back and have a look at it again. The striking thing about this game is that the graphics are very well done indeed, you could almost say beautiful, and modelling is really good. And just to add insult to injury i was getting 120+ FPS and aprox 160 ping, and this was on servers in Europe and the US, i am in Australia. The thing that this says to me is that even though im a DCS ' diehard sim purist', how come we cant achieve the graphics, FPS and ping that this new kid on the block is producing so far ? I realize old technology is the reason, but without poking fingers in chests and ridiculing DCS, i think they need to rethink some things. I know they are working on a new graphics engine, but, what is the leap in quality going to produce and can it keep the interest up. Id hate to think the Flying Tigers are relocating to Warthunder. ^^ I guess in reality the bottom line is all about what the market wants, and to survive you have to go that way, more or less.

I have updated the Logbooks as of 18July13, the medals have been updated and are now correct, im pretty sure the precedence is correct as well. The Logbook is now updating on DCS home site under "User Files" and will be available when as soon as they pass the checks. Also for the Kiwis' i am making a Kiwi log book, if any Kiwi wants to help let me know, i have a fair amount of info but need some good pics of RNZAF Rank shoulder boards from Pilot officer to Group Captain.

Great skins Home Fries, will be charging into the enemy in those, "Air Assault, Air assault". :)

74th vfs 'The Flying Tigers' to close shop. 'An ode'
Strut replied to Heli Shed's topic in Multiplayer
Good luck Tyger, sorry to see you calling it a day, maybe the 74th will morph into another entity. Also thankyou for you superb training vid's and excellent technical and tactical information. 74th Doctrine will remain in the ether for a long time and will help budding sim pilots. You should be proud of your achievements, and as a retired Infantry soldier, Reg Army of 30yrs, i can fully see where your coming from. Good luck mate and best regards. -
Combat search and rescue operations during Vipers hot LZ mission.
Strut replied to redfish's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Good Vid there Redfish, you might get lucky and encourage Aussieboy to pickle off a bomb, also letting your Kiwi attachments know that Aussie and i are also working on a kiwi logbook, i have 3 Sqn and 75 Sqn represented for them, if they want another Sqn let me know. But il stop at (Truple Sux) 666, lol Best regards -
Typical of the current generations most of the "great unwashed" out there would believe nearly anything coming from Hollywood, Bollywood and the Kremlins own movie propaganda unit and from the "idiot Box" Television. Goebbels did the Nazi's proud. Propaganda is used all the time and it is useful in war, all the powers that be use it and it sucks in the unwitting as well as the gullible. You could argue all day about crap like this. Although it is amusing, interesting and in some case obvious that some people enjoy to malign the USA, people seem to forget that the USA did end the war in the Pacific, did lead the west to Victory in Europe, did fly through the Berlin Blockade, and probably is about the only country that has the balls to stand up to any clapped out Banana Republic economy that tries to take pot shots at it. I think some of the analysis here is specious and quite childish and relys on the current fashion of US bashing. Some people should grow up and digest things in the context that they were aimed at. I think the thread is quite offensive in some of the inferred rhetoric. Sounds like more propaganda to me.
